I also got the low vitamin D verdict and ordered to take the vitamin. Haven't been retested yet but hanging out in the sun more too.

Interesting how people felt, or didn't feel, after taking vit D. I had a terrible time getting used to it. No problems now but at first it was like taking NoDoz.

From what I've read I believe that may be a bit more than what is necessary, but I'm not in the medical field and really know nowhere near enough about it to know if that is anywhere near accurate. I'm sure this information is out there and that if you use a bit of Google-Fu you'll get a good idea of what is required.

Keep in mind also there are other factors besides just time involved here. There is more UV radiation in tropical areas as opposed to closer to the poles, more in the hours between 10 AM - 4 PM than otherwise, the amount of skin exposed will make a difference and cloud cover can affect what gets through but maybe not as much as we think.

You're right about that -- we went to Daytona when I was a kid, and we were all bummed out because it was overcast... but we still managed nasty sunburns.

So you are saying there is no pollution in the ocean?

Looking back thru my reply......... Nope, not what I said. Having grown up fishing both saltwater and fresh water most of my life as well as my grandfather being a commercial fisherman on the Chesapeake bay, pretty sure I could tell you a thing or two about what fishes are more suceptible and are more likely to contain harmful chemicals and toxins that are considered harmful if you ingest them for long periods of time........... Just sayin'
