The xc116 looks thick? Is it possible to just wrap it around or do you build the coil and insert it? I'm very interested in ordering some of this! As for the kayfun, I have the kfl+ v2 and bought it from vaperev so it's authentic. I took it all apart just now and even though it was time to change it, I'm guessing I just didn't use enough cotton this last time. I put new in just now after I cleaned and burned the coil and it's vaping fine. Maybe it was just dirtier than I thought it was lol. Thank you for the suggestions btw Divide! I'm tinkering with the airflow now.

I tried getting the kayfun from vaperev and they were always out of stock :( So I got the real Russian..Crossing my fingers I like it or it will be a lot of money gone and hubby will then choke me..But it has very good reviews also.

XC-116 comes in 2 diameters 3mm and 2mm. I am a big fan of microcoils so I got the thinner wick. That way I can insert it in the coil after I wrap. It's a little tricky to get it in there but you can vary the size of the drill bit, or whatever is used to wrap the coil. The trick is to get the coil so that its wide enough to get the wick in, yet close enough so that its not too loose. Conversely you can absolutely wrap around it like silica or ekowool. I just started wrapping micro coils which I'm pretty good at and have no experience wrapping around silica/ekowool. With a genny it's a whole nother can of worms.

I usually feed it through a built micro coil. You can just wrap it around like silica if you want. Z Vaper did a nice video on Micro coils vs spiral coils (traditional coils) you might want to watch. The cool thing about XC-116 is that as long as you cut the appropriate length, you can just remove the coil, torch it and try something different until you find what you like.

Play with that airflow. Keep tinkering and you'll find that sweet spot. When you get it, you can chain vape without a dry hit or a flood. It's a magical place, and it's why I'm so high on the Kayfun.

I have had a Russian as well. The rumor (on the inteweb, has to be true) is that the guys at Svoemesto had a falling out and that's how the Russian was born. I usually find myself using a little more wick on the Russian because the larger juice channels have a tendency to pull liquid more quickly. Of course, like I said in my other post, it really depends on liquid, draw, coil, and wattage. I have an early V2 and it was machined perfectly. It looks like there were a lot of complaints from a semi-recent batch about the machining being poor, but now it looks like the ones people got here in a coop were really done right. Just look at your channels and make sure they match. If for some reason one looks wider or deeper than the other, just send it back. If not you're fine.

The Russian is head and shoulders above the other ones out there. The EHPro V2 is very good as well, but I've seen some inconsistency in juice wells on different batches. Every authentic I've seen is perfect and I'm pretty sure the ones that aren't perfect are in a trash can in Germany somewhere.

If you're looking for a genuine Kayfun and don't want to get raked through the coals for Vaperev's $9 shipping, BOOM

Well I was looking every where and that site didn't even hit in my search, if I would have know would have thought about that and the Russian, but have the Russian coming Thursday..

Interesting thread.. I am pretty much now a only nicoticket person and a pretty much only KFL and Russian person as well. I do find that my coils get gunked after about 3 tanks. I never really thought it was Nicotickets fault but I suppose now I can blame them totally. However for the 3.2c it costs me each time I rebuild a coil and wick I cannot give up all the best vapes I have found (radioactive, CLS, Creme Brulee, and the virus). As a side note when I have run other juices through I think they gunked up in about the same time. 2014-05-20 21.13.37.jpg

Vintage? Well it has really come into its own. I was not blown away at first and put it away for about 2 months then about a week ago brought it back out to enjoy and oh how it has improved!

That's an early bottle - I can tell because Snickerdoodle Cookie is spelled out, it doesn't say DOODLE on it.

So since you have both the kayfun and russian do you see any difference between the 2? Hmm maybe I will have to save and get the Kayfun also , just hope I spent my money wisely, well my hubby's money that is. I know I watched the you tube from Phil Busardo on his take on the 2 and gave them both great ratings and he said wasn't much difference besides the Russian having the airflow thing. He did the review of both of them side by side. I also read other stuff on here about the Russian..Now to maybe try that wick stuff that started this post in the first place..lol

I do not see that much difference at all. I have 2 KFL v1s and a KFL+ and 2 Russians. I did have a Russian V2 that I had real problems with it shorted and I could not get it to work at all I sold it. I feel like the quality on the KFL are better but it is really subjective as I only "feel" this way nothing has ever given me trouble on either (except the v2 russian). I have tried multiple clones ( as extras) and not a one held a candle to the originals I have ( either KFL or Russian). I would say to anyone either is an amazing product.

I'm on a huge Derlin drip tip kick. Reason why is Stainless Steel can't be great on your teeth long term. Tongue piercings have been known to wipe away enamel over time. I do like Pyrex drip tips, and my collection of tips ranges from higher to lower priced. If you're looking for lower priced drip tips, search POM drip tip on Fasttech. If you're looking for something more expensive, check out any of the tips from Innovape. Their Silencer tips are top quality.
