My experience with using alcohol to clean attys is it works very well in general, but will kill attys more often than non-alcohol methods. It may be it dissolves some interior adhesives, not sure really, but I would estimate about 15% of my attys put in an alcohol soak came back dead. I much prefer using the polydent soak with hot water flush after about 12 hours soaking. Seems to bring them back to pretty much new and when I was using attys a lot, I would get many months of use out of them.
As for thinning juices, if they are denatured spirits, don't use them for that. Toxic!
