That's not a question from me but, rather to me. MANY times in recent days. It's funny how the public will believe anything they hear without doing any type of research. I'm sure I've been guilty of this before.

I really wish I had a card to hand out with the ingredients of what I was vaping. I've been saying it's nicotine, flood flavoring, PG and VG found in foods YOU EAT. After looking up what foods people consume everyday with PG and VG in them it makes me laugh more that people are so misinformed. (I just might make up that card)

I met a man just today who's wife told me he has lung cancer right now but can't quit and I should show him my "thing". So, he saw it and started to listen, but either I was boring to listen to or he just wasn't interested. Very sad, I wish it wasn't either. People don't realize how much it will change their life.

Just my semi-rant for the day. I feel better now, thanks :)

I did not listen to my Dr. suggest vaping either. I wanted chantix, so she gave me a script for that. After trying it for 2 years on and off, I finally tried vaping and it made all the difference.

I've heard someone say that the other day "...they contain antifreeze" but they will smoke and continue coughing. I know I ignored people, too.

well thats what a lot of ppl said to me when they saw me vaping.

"HEY THATS EVEN WORSE THAN CIGGS, U GET ADDICTED TO NICOTINE"

i mean you are a smoker and you arent addicted to nicotine? Some ppl are just plain ignorant or just trying to justify not trying to quit. Nowadays ppl ask me i will just say "ya e cigg" and stop unless they are really interested to know more. Dont wanna start a debate wasting my time on ppl who dun get their facts right.

Maybe when your counting your days in weeks or months not a lot else sinks in ?
Good on you for giving your time to this poor fella, my advice would be to give him some effective kit, show him the basics and leave him to try it.
Peace.

Yea gotta love stupid people. PG is used in asthma inhalers and salt is an anti freeze. Good luck all you chefs and Asthmatics.

Not refering to the guy with cancer obviously...but the statement about containing antifreeze.

I imagine somebody who is battling lung cancer is already being "adviced to death" already and people tend to push all their great ideas on you when you are so sick. :(

This is one I would lay off........

....actually, I don't proseltize at all......I let people ask me. That means it was their idea, and they are "ready".

I have found that changing a behavior or a making a major life change is something very personal, whether that be leaving a relationship, quitting smoking, losing weight, etc. People can't do stuff on other's timelines.

I've had several people say this to me and it is irritating. But I have to also remember when I first started vaping, I too questioned it, how safe and w/out long term studies, it can pop questions in my own mind. I was nervous about inhaling flavorings and certain sweeteners (which are proven cancerous when ingested) and my biggest concern were silica wicks.

So, I did research and had a lot of help here. CASAA also had a lot of info to help me through. I'm a nervous nelly by nature so I do go through times where I question vaping again. Most specifically, which did concern me from the beginning, is silica. I use to sell Hardi Plank siding and although a different silica compound, it is common knowledge in the building industry to never breathe in the dust when cutting the boards.

So I was searching something on ECF on wicks or something last night (don't even remember now what it was), and I see a thread some guy posted w/pics of a Petri dish and silica floating around and talking about it getting in the lungs and someone chimed in that they saw it floating in their tanks!! So my anxiety hits and I'm now wondering why these wicks are not just made w/cotton to begin with?!?!?! Why use silica at all? Silica has a bad connotation w/the public anyway and fuels the fire for ANTZ.

Guess my new project is learning to rebuild w/cotton..and this should be a nightmare because I'm not mechanical at all.

It is not so bad. If I can do it, anyone can. I have some distinct disadvantages!

The trick is, when you start to get frustrated, just walk away for a bit, have a vape, and come back to it when you are in the right frame of mind.

I have heard the weird comments so many times about e-cigs being dangerous and addicting. I pass out the cards from casaa to a lot of people.

I don't care if so far i have only one verified convert who thanks me everyday. But it is a most important person in my life and that is my brother!

The rest are friends and people i have met online. The people here on ecf i would guess actually do use what i give them at least i choose to believe that they do :) As for my friends, well i don't pressure them but feel better knowing they have the e-cig kits to use or not!

I've spoken to a few people who have seen me use my MVP 2 and have done my best to enlighten them. Usually just at work in the smoking area. I'm not one for vaping indoors in public places only because it would draw some negative reactions at times. I've converted a few people and some are just not able to be converted. Oh well.... their loss!!
