I just found a great alternitive to Blu

I tried using Blu disposables. This got to be quite expensive. I then started to look for a kit. First I looked at Blu. I figure that I have a one time investment in the kit, but how much is it going to cost me after that to keep vaping?

Well, Blu cartridges are $12.99 for 5 here.

So I found this solution instead:

After I got the kit, I am paying $4.99 for a pack of five. The charging case works good too. Has anyone else tried these? I think they are new...

I buy a 1 ounce bottle for $16.50 and that lasts me about a week and a half.

I used to go through 1.5-2.0 Blu cartos a day. Not in any way cost effective to quit analogs.

The company may be new, but the kit looks like very outdated 3 piece e-cig technology. That said, if its working for you thats all that matters. If you decide to look for something a bit more cost effective, there is a lot of info in the forums (or just post and ask)!

Cost effective or not, if it works for the OP then it works. I would not buy into it myself, but again, if it's working for the OP then it is doing exactly what they need.

Of course I just posted that I'm thinking about getting an eRoll ... new twist on 3 piece e-cig ... LOL!

If these help you quit smoking then go for it. That being said, there's a whole world of vaping options open to you. There is no reason to be tied to this one brand and a small selection of flavors. Look into an Ego kit with clearomizers to get started. Find some juice that you might like. Do a lot of reading on this forum and ask questions. Se if there are any vape shops in your area that can get you set up with a good starter rig and some juice to try out. Even if you have to travel a bit, this will get you off to a great start in your journey of vaping!!

Yea, I didn't get the Blu. I didn't think the taste was good either on the blu.

I don't need to charge my battery every hour either thank goodness. My pack that it came with charges the battery way before I need to swap it out with the other one. The pack itself stays charged for 2 days so I don't have a charging issue with these. I don't even carry a cord with me.

They say the cartridges can be refilled but I haven't tried that yet. At $5 for the equivalent of 5 packs of regular cigs, I don't know if it will be worth the trouble.

I imagine that you use one of those big models right? (I'm not sure what they are called.) I didn't get that kind because the regular cigarette looking ones are easier to use in public for me.

Does anyone else agree?

I started out with Blu as well and while I didn't find them very satisfying, the biggest issue was by far the fact that batteries didn't last AT ALL!!! If you like the Cig-A-Like, I went to V2 and have been very happy with them, better batteries (still not stupendous) but their EX Blank carts can be refilled 15-20 times with juices of your choice... I go through about 50ml of juice per week and 3 EX blanks for a cost of about $40/week... considering I was a 2PAD smoker spending about $100/week on stinkies it has been very cost effective and very effective at keeping me smoke free!!

Truth be told I'm looking to move into a mods soon but the V2 was a great starter piece and I envision always keeping it as an "on-the-go" tool...

That depends on how much you smoke reg cigs. But don't buy into the hype that one cartridge is equal to one pack of cigs. It just is not so.
But if what you are using is working for you, then by all means go for it. It only matters if you are happy or not.

Jeffro007 if this kit is working for you then yes, I agree. I liked my V2 kits when i first started out and it got me off of cigarettes. Later on you may want more then come on back and ask more questions. For now stick with the kit that is working for you. Good Luck and Happy Vaping

Are you willing to refill your own cartos? because that is the most cost effective thing you can do.

First, welcome!! This is a great place to learn and share about vaping.

Yes, Blu is expensive, but probably responsible for starting many of us into vaping. And what I've seen, very few use it for longer than a few weeks, top. But that is a learning process you will soon face, after you see the cool stuff we are using.

Wow, that is expensive for what you are getting. $60 for a kit? The site says that cartridges are refillable. Have you refilled them? Since cost is a concern for you, a 30ml bottle of juice could be had for under $10 and would refill your cartridges many times over.

If you like the thin style, I suggest Halo G6 for under $45. And you can use a mini tank $4 and refill it with e-liquid.

Or go for a slightly larger size and get Kgo Starter kit from VirginVapor. Also $45 and they throw in a tiny 4ml of juice.

I've only seen the ad for the Kgo, so I can't talk to how good or bad it is.

But there are many other options, my friend. I'm not going to get into box mods like innoken mvp2 for $45, since the shape/size is way different than a thin cig-a-like.

Get something with a tank, cause it tastes way better than those cartridges. And you have a choice of, oh let me count, like 8,000 flavors!!

I used to vape blu carts off of my ego 650mh battery... they went awful fast that way... I blew through a 5 pack a day easy!

I guess it depends on if you have time to turn vaping into a hobby or not. If not, a simple cigalike that you just buy spare cartridges for will do. Getting into the tanks and juice is certainly the ultimate way to go but it does require a lot of experimentation, maintenance and trial and error. I've been spending the afternoon trying to perfect my protank head rebuilding techniques. I often am battling certain issues, especially getting burnt tastes. But I have five tanks now so I usually at least have one that I'm not fiddling with that I can vape from while I'm messing around with the others. Also, getting juices that you like isn't as easy as it seems. I've bought about 25 or so juices so far and truly like only about eight of them, but at least that guides me in the right direction for what I order in the future. For example, I don't like the bubble gum flavor that I have mainly because it's bubblegum flavor. Has nothing to do with the vendor. I just won't get anymore bubblegum flavor from anyone from now on, but I did have to buy the bottle of bubblegum to discover that.

I have refilled the blu cartos and it does work ok. The end caps are a little tricky to remove here and there. As far as flavors I had found that the vanilla is good and I enjoyed the cherry. But yeah the performance is pretty underwhelming. I would have been better off just going right into one of the more established vapers.

I am still looking for the flavors that work best for me. Have some blueberry cheesecake coming in soon. So that exciting. Along with a little clearomizer. Doesn't seem like you need to vape very much.
I vape a lot and i really need a third or fourth battery (i only charge on usb at work or plugin at home).
Agree with you absolutely on the cig-a-likes and being out-and-about.
I will eventually go to a bigger battery for vaping at home - but this is probably mainly,
i've almost decided that i will keep vaping as a hobby (not completely decided yet, but pretty sure).

If you explore into the world of juices and flavors, you should be willing to refill your cartos... especially
with your favorite juice so it becomes "worth the time". If you're big money, then go ahead and buy pre-filled cartos
all day. I just buy empty cartos and buy juice separately. My starter kit was from Halo and i got a sampler package of juice.
It can be a little weird at times, feels like i gotta wear a lab coat to load my juices, and wife keeps saying,
"you look like you're doing drugs!" but it's good fun - and just about non-stinky as can get and keep the nicotine.
And if you really are looking to be thrifty in your vaping, then refilling is the way to go.

1950 mAh batteries? That's what it said. How? If true, that's about 5 - 10 times more battery life than any other ecig I've ever seen. I might get a battery for that much power. Throw a carto on there and vape a couple of days. Anyway, I don't know anything about the kit you listed, and I think it's suspect for the battery mAh alone. I've heard many good things about the Halo. I'm seriously thinking about a small cigalike setup for special times at the Casino....2 hours tops. I still like the smaller form factor, though I vape all day long on tube APV's. Still, I wouldn't mind having a top of the line cigalike setup. I just don't know what that is. While there are many choices, get whatever you like that gets you to quit and helps you stay quit. That's the best setup....period. Later on, you can upgrade. I did. I need long battery life as I was a heavy smoker, and I can't charge batteries two or three times, or more, per day. Crazy. Good luck and welcome to the Forum. Power up and Vape on!

I started with V2's a little over a month ago. I do credit them with getting me off analogs. I quickly found that their pre-filled cartos are not even close to their claim of 1 pack of cigarette equivalence. The flavors also suck. Then V2 accidently shipped me someone elses oirder of EX refillable tanks. I sent the order back but was intrigued by them so I ordered some for myself. I am presently using those filled with some mint ejuice I picked up at a local B&M. It was an improvement to thier pre-filled carto but still far short from satisfactory. They hold very little ejuice requiring multiple fills a day and don't produce good vapor.

This got me looking into something better which led me here to ECF. I tried the eGo at a local B&M and boy was I impressed. That's how a smoking substitute should work. Now I have an eGo/Protank and MVP 2 kit on order.

Ditch the little girly e-cigs for a real vapor mod, you won't be disappointed. The funny thing is an eGo kit cost no more than a dinky V2 kit but it's far superior.

Almost forgot, V2's 808 style batteries have lousy charge capacity and current capability.

They are made buy an experienced, reputable company so if you really want to stick to the small ecigs, you may want to check these out. I would consider those if you absolutely need compact ecigs for certain occasions.

After moving to big systems I have gone back and explored the small stuff heavily not to replace my big stuff but to supplement ti for times when only something small will do.

I have found there are a few of us with identical complaints about the eRoll though others like it. I was going to destroy my eRoll but I am giving it away instead to someone on the forum.



This is just the tip of the iceberg of the small stuff I have tried. I don't expect the little stuff to match the combination of vapor, throat hit, and flavor of the big devices but I wanted the one that comes the closest. After trying almost everything I have heard of V4L Titans, the version that come out in 2012 is the closest I can find. The batteries can carry a bit more amps so do not sag as much. The also hold voltage above 4v longer than any I have seen. The V4L ash caps are not the same animal.

Two of the eRolls are to the left of the picture next to the case. The batteries may look similar but the performance does vary. The V4L Titans might cost a little more but it is cheaper than having a bunch of batteries I don't want to use anymore.

I would not buy from a company that lies. They state that their batteries are 1950 mAh, lol. I'm sorry but that is just BS.
