We will probably try out the higher quality stuff down the road once we have an idea of the flavors/nic density we need and can save a bit buying in bulk. But for now, the Nobacco juice looks like our best bet for the $. (The FreedomSmokeUSA samples are only available in 24mg... we really need lower than that since my poor honey got sick yesterday from his 36mg cartos...)

Are your concerns about the Chinese Dekang rooted in health issues or potentially damaging your hardware?

They are rooted in health issues.

I have read countless stories of a bad, perfume-y taste. And I have experienced it in some of my pre-filled cartomizers.

But, more worryingly to me, I have also read of a couple isolated incidents of people getting sick due to mis-labeled nicotine content, and sub-standard PG.

These cases are very rare, but they are enough to put me off Dekang completely. The same thing can happen with juice anywhere - Rath juice is a good example.

That's why it's important to stay informed and make your own decisions about what you put into your body. I am processing my DIY juice vid as we speak, which was the answer to my juice woes when I was too broke to buy decent juice after shelling out for my kit and DIY set-up. It will be edited into my original post on this thread shortly.

I think the main reason most of us hate Dekang is the chemical taste it has. Bad juice can turn away people new to vaping because they may think it's the way all juices taste. If you want 0 nic juice so you can mix down higher nic mgs. check out DAT's. They sell 30 mls of 0 nic for $3.50 up to 120 mls for $12.50. Also when you take into consideration the flat $5 dollar shipping rate, FreedomSmokeUSA is truly inexpensive for 5 mls.

I'd also keep an eye out in the Deals and Steals thread in the PIF social group.

Loved the videos. Can't wait to see your DIY one. I really want to start doing some DIY but I don't even know where to start. I feel just as confused trying to DIY as I did when I was trying to figure out my ecig. Thanks for making these videos they will clear alot of stuff up for us newbies.

The DIY video is up! Got to the original post. It's the third video.

You know the next request will be to do a video on the comparisons of the big batt units. PM me if you need an eGo or Riva batt and I'll get back to you later today when/if I get a chance.

Perhaps, after I do the standard Kr8/510 vids. I do know with an eGo that I'm sure I can use, and since I am predominantly a Kr8 carto user I'm cool. Don't want to deplete your supplies. :D

Things will get interesting...

Thank you so much for the DIY video, I have had my DIY supplies for a week and have been too scared to try anything because it seems so much harder than what you have demonstrated. I have read all of the cheat sheets and just got overwhelmed. Your video was straight to the point and makes me feel like hey "it's not that hard". Great job.

So glad. Yeah, it's easy to get all caught up in the details - and sure, I have mixes with 8 different ingredients and giant spread sheets now, but you don't need to start that heavy-duty. I vaped nothing but one-flavor mixes for quite a while, and they're perfectly yummy.

Good luck!

"Again! Again!"

Jeez, it really is like watching Tele-tubbies! Don't stop now!

I just mixed up some FlavourArt spearmint and hypnotic mist last night... hella yummy, and even better this morning :) Of course, I had to figure out all this stuff on "me one-sies". Great series; I second Pav's idea about the time-machine. Those SOB's at {pick a "free trial"} wouldn't have gotten my first hundred bucks if I'd seen this first.

I re-request a sticky for these :)

P.S. You mention posting links to certain places in your vids; I'm guessing that those links appear on your Youtube channel. Might want to add them to your first post here, since the videos are embedded here & no one sees the links unless they watch the vids directly on Youtube.

Can you tell us where that chart is on the computer for measuring? I too wanted to try DiY but so many charts and numbers were a little overwhelming. The one you used was straight forward and to the point....Measuring for dummies I guess....LOL

Sorry about that, I linked to it in the description but here it is:

Hmm... health issues are another matter entirely. I was thinking that if it was hardware issues, that's no big deal since we use cartomizers anyway. I may have to do a bit more research. Is there anyway to tell if an e-juice is Dekang? What about LeLiquid by LeCig? We have a local retailer that carries LeCig merchandise.
Oh! and speaking of LeCig, I found these for your battery customizing bit: LeCig Electronic Cigarette Store - LeWraps

And great job on the DIY juice vid... that's much easier than I would have anticipated! About how much $ per ml do your homemade juices run you?

Thanks! I was going crazy looking for cheap 0mg juice. I don't guess there is any way to dilute the nic level of a pre-filled carto though, is there?

I've been here for a year and 8 months. I've seen hundreds of tutorial videos. Not since Spikey (I think that's who Elendil was referring to) have I seen anyone as good at it as you Mistress. Your a natural at it and after watching your DIY juice one I think I might try making some of my own. I've always bought pre-mixed juice but you really make it look simple. Your videos will be a huge help for a lot of people from here on. Well done once again! Cheers!

That video was great! Was wondering if you could post up the link to your DIY calculator. I don;t know if you said it in the video but I didn't hear what site you were on <3 This diy video def has helped me understand alot and I'm feeling allot more confident instead of scarred and confused. I think I'll watch it like 5 more times ^.~

All links posted with their respective videos, on the OP.

bluedove3 Not all resellers of Dekang label them as such. When in doubt, ask. I don't know about LeCig's juice, but I've heard the dude who runs it is very responsive to contact, so you should have no trouble asking him.

LeCig in general is a well-liked store. He sells tweaked versions of the Kr808D-1, which some people prefer over the generic ones. They do cost a bit more than a generic kit, for this reason.

Thank you Houdini. :) It's lots of fun, and surprisingly easy.

Just like the people who get all into mods and batteries and what have you make e-cigs look more difficult and expensive than they are, the people who get into DIY (myself included) can make it look more difficult than it is.

Thank you! I have just edited my original post to include all the links I refer to in each of the videos below the video. You will find the e-juice calculator link below the video.
