Hi everyone! I'm looking at the Smoktech VV Gripper, joyetech eGo 18650 mod, and the Smoktech Bolt. But there might be some others out there that I don't know. I don't like the joyetech because it regulates to 3.2v, and I was hoping for 3.7v.

Bare necessities:
1. Cheap. Preferrably under 60 dollars or less
2. 18650 batteries: No other. 18650 are cheap here, used to rebuild notebook battery packs and a 5000 mAh protected one can cost as little as 12 dollars.
3. VV preferred. I don't like the LT because it limits voltage at certain loads. Provari is WAY over my budget and too masive.

If VV is a necessity, the gripper is ur best bet. U would be surprised how satisfying the cape can be with a true 3.7/4.2 volts on a full charge that a mechanical can provide. With the right ohm on ur coil, vv is not the necessary iMHO. I am loving my Smok Telescope far more than my vv devices lately. My 2 cents. Good luck!

Still look at the provari. Then after I wake up I realize how much it gonna cost me. I got a vmax. Problem is they don't know what the voltage is some kind of variable stuff. If I want 4 volts I expect 4 volts. not what ever it cranks out. Don't get me wrong I use it daily but I bought an ITASTE and really like it more than the vmax. I'ts wierd yes but with the right adapters it does everything I could ask for. Enen suggest the proper voltage for me. Just my opinion on this. Also tell you how many time you vaped it.

The Joye Ego 18650 was upgraded some time ago to a switchable voltage - either regulated 3.3 or unregulated. It's got a satin finish on the newer switch assembly, glossy on the old one. My wife's been banging a silver one around in her purse for four months and it's still working and looking fine. It's among the lightest 18650 mods available. Just noalox the threads when you get it or lube them with a touch of vaseline or oil and it's good to go. Switches on and off and it can be recharged on an Ego USB charger (slowly) in a pinch too.

At about $20, it's a sweet deal.

Yes! I've been looking onto one without magnetic conectors. Problem is, that when I go out on the boat energy is scarce and I need something to vape on for days without recharging. Maybe I'll save some and get a Provari after all.

For $25 more than your $60 suggested price, you could grab a Silver Bullet from Altsmoke. They've been around a long time and have gained a lot of respect for their durability, construction, and customer service. Later, should you wish, you can add a Kick and a $25 sleeve extension for the SB that they sell for variable voltage. It takes an 18650 battery.

The Provari is a better device, but it's at least $100 more. I just got one about a month ago and its pretty much taken over from my other mods while they collect dust. But again, they are expensive and not for everybody. Not sure I'd want one on a boat; not that it isn't as durable as the Silver Bullet, but I'd die seeing my Provari go overboard and be lost forever.

I have mixed emotions about the Silver Bullet. True, long has past since 2009, and it's been totally revamped. Now it looks like a solid mod. I'll dig into it, but the bolt is almost the same, cheaper. Thanks anyway!

except you don't the option for future kick use because of the awful wiring in the switch.

It looks to me, that it is the Indulgence V3, but I am not sure.
It is. I have one as my backup pv. It's a solid mod with a nice clicky button. It's 3.7 volts and has never let me down. It used to be over $50 before the v4 came out (which is vv but a lot of people have had quality issues with it).

Thanks, Mine should arrive Friday or Saturday. I have a V.V. tube, but rarely use it over 4 Volts. So I was looking for a "smaller" 3.7 volt mod that I could use my 18650 batteries in.

I've read about the bad wiring of the Bolt's switch, too. And the machining of the threads for the tube and head are no where as smooth as on the SB and BB. Another example of you get what you pay for.

The new anodized Bolt's that just came out this month are reworked. People are reporting that you can indeed use the Kick in the Bolt, you just have to buy the extender sleeve. I actually love my bolt to death. Its even got a new button that seems pretty damn rugged compared to my LavaTube. I love the Bolt MORE than my LT. I love it more than my eGos. I love it all together. Its a great cheaply priced product.. And its Anodized, so you really dont have to worry too much about it getting hurt when dropped. You can use 18350 batteries without the extra sleeve, or 18650 batteries... Buying it with the sleeve is under $40 and its a very solid feeling mod if you ask me. A lot more solid than a LavaTube. I have dropped it and not a scratch on it. And its anodized. Which means its been chemically and electrically treated so that it will resist scratching and wear. I have the Slate colored Bolt and I love it, its VERY sleek and tough looking.

If your specifically looking for a VV device, I recommend the Zmax.
