A simple mech is good for backup; as for building your own coils on a regulated mod - better to build and test out on a regulated mod anyway you take it; and easier to adjust your mod to match whatever the coil measured out to be, than to have to build the coil to match the battery which is still going to change anyway.

Ahh..Yeah. I dont prefer the ladder, Id rather the device change to the coil instead of having to make a new coil eveytime the battery changes, drops off, gets low, whatever.

My last mod was a chuck and silver bullet, both mech mods, Never had a problem with them, but i guess that things have changed with making different coil sizes.

If I go with a regulated mod or a mech mod, either way, im going to figure out what coil length and shape / design or whatever works the best and just stick with it... I dont really plan on messing around and tinkering too too much, and if I ever get into that point, Ill get another device to tinker with, but Im just looking for a daily vape mod, Not a mod for a hobby.

REO?

PS. Thanks for the recommendations! I ended up reading all about the sub ohm vaping, and it looks like thats just wayyyyy too much for me. Building all this stuff and boiling cotton and yada yad..

Im feel like thats what im looking for, something more along the lines of a kfun lite and a (provari?)

I dont mind needing to make a coil every now and again, but it looks like these guys are building new coils every hour? ...?

Or am I misunderstanding this? Do you build a set up and then it lasts a long time? Or do you need to replace the coil often?

info overload last night.. GD!

I imagine you'd build a few coils until you find your sweet spot. As for me, I build a new coil about once a month. I switched from cotton to READYxWICK about a month ago, and I don't expect to have to change wicks more often than monthly, if that. The REO sub-forum here is a fantastic source of info and help.

As for the REO itself, my Grand has been my all-day device since November of 2010. It has taken a beating, and adapted to changes over the years. I started with 306 and 510 atty's, then switched to cartos, and now I've been using RBA's for going on 2 years. And now Rob has made changes to make the REO's handle more robust sub-ohm vaping.

So I said screw it and picked up a k100 and a kayfun clone. The mod was only 50 bux so I couldnt resist. The guy was trying to sell me a used one that had copper fittings for 200 bux alone. And then a kayfun clone for 60 bux.

I got the whole set up, charger and battery for 180 bux. Not too shabby. The thing hits pretty well aslo. I dont have HUGE clouds like some of the crazy sub-ohm videos, But I get a pretty dang good hit compared to the ego-c Twist and Kanger Pro tank... He wrapped a pieced of sillica wic with 8 wraps of 28g and its runnning about 0.89 ohms. Good Vape, GREAT flavor, Good throat Hit.

I plan on going in next week or two and get a dripping atty for it... Curious on what I should do to be able to turn that dripper into BIG VAPES, I will only be using the dipper for fat stacks of vape at home.

All n all. I'm pretty pleased with this set up.... Not too sure if its really that much more beneficial to invest in a more expensive mod that's like 200 bux alone so it doesn't have as much "Drop off?" or What is the term cus the connections are silver instead of crappy like mine? (Apparently that's what the guy said, I cant remember the term).. Iv been using it like a pacifier since I got it, (about 2-3 hours) and I just now had to refill the tank. Im only using 3mg nic level and its hitting me well... I'm am much more satisfied vaping 3mg with this compared to 24mg with my kanger and ego set up...Im pleased. :)

That's a lot? Compared to a majority of the videos and prices I saw, Getting the mod, The atty, Tank, Battery, Charger, and some juice all for under 200 bux is a pretty damn good deal... No?

No it's not a bad deal, but I didn't say that. I said

I wouldn't recommend any high priced mech to somebody relatively new to vaping who isn't already accustomed to vaping and build coils etc.

For a new vaper, having a cheap mech or 2 as a failsafe backup battery tube is very usefull because mod tubes can have their problems for example center pin problems; even an ego battery can suffer from center pin problems; or what about liquid getting down inside your mod and messing up the electronics; or maybe a battery venting inside your mod and the mod becomes unuseable? Now whatdoyado? You got 2 or 4 18650 batteries and no mod, your ego battery backup actually hasn't been used for so long it doesn't seem to be working.

For $54 for a new vaper might as well get something that shows you the ohms on your coil while you're vaping, and/or the voltage of the battery.

Soo............I dun just got told?

Whats a cheaper electronic mod than the Provari? I dunno, I kinda like the sub-ohm vape... Wouldn't a restricted Mod/tube/PV Not expel as much vapor as a sub-ohm mech mod? Plus, My old Silver bullet and Carto set up was a mech mod, and that lasted me 4+ Years, and now my ex has it and its going to last her a while im sure.. I dont get why electronic is really THAT much better (Besides the safety)

It's not like im done, I just impulse bought this, and actually, I AM quite happy with it.. But that doesn't mean I'm done researching for the BEST fog machine out there for my every day use.

I still have yet to really understand what differences make the vape more thick, or stronger throat hit, more flavor, More ohms, Less ohms, drop off, better pins and connections, best coil set up, etc etc... I still cant get past the old way of thinking "Throw more volts at it and burn it all away!" type of mentality. haha But having this new set up is at least giving me a better understanding.. I think im mostly confused about the rebuildable atomizers. I think I was actually OVERTHINGING how they work.. Its probably simple once I really try and figure it out.

Ill be asking a bunch more questions.
