I have an SVD as well, and to be honest, I always end up with a burnt taste when I play with the wattage mode (but I am a noob).
......so I just stick with voltage settings. BTW if you haven't watched pbusardo's review of the SVD on youtube, you should. He explains all of the features pretty well. (search "pbusardo svd" on youtube)

I have one and you might need to use a little math to get it spot on, but basicly you want to stick to betwen 7 to 9 watts is you are gettint a burned taste lower it.It's design is to set it and forget it find out the ohms of your tank or whatever then square it then multiply it by whatever voltage is a comfortable setting and now you can exchange it with any other tank higher or lower ohms and you shouldn't have to reset it anymore that's what the watt feature does. I would not go above 10 watts it's usually too high.
