I am looking for a good tube mod comparable to the innokin Itaste SVD. Although I love my SVD, the firing button is starting to go, so I'm starting to look for a replacement. I'm hoping that they will post a release date for the SVD 2.0 soon. So please give me your best suggestions for a replacement. Thanks in advance!

Well, all of the Chinese-made APVs suffer from cheap, under-spec'ed switches and the Innokin SVD is the worst of them all. It has three undersized and weak switches.

Both Vamo and SVD do the same work as the sigelei Zmax V3 and V5 telescopic tubes mods but are significantly longer in size than the Sigeleis. Both Vamo and SVD have soft chrome-plated brass 510/eGo threading while the Sigeleis have a one-piece stainless steel 510/eGo threading assembly.

However, the single switch on the Sigeleis isn't the best, either. It can crap out in a couple of months, several months or over a year later even if the 510-eGo threading is darned near indestructible. Buy a Sigelei and you are rolling the dice on switch life, just like any other Chinese-made APV except you are only rolling the dice once instead of three times.

The good news is that the Sigeleis only have one switch to fail. And it is not undersized like the Innokin SVD. And if you are a Tool Time type of guy and can use a workbench and a soldering iron you can replace the Sigelei switch yourself with a replacement third party switch rated for one million click cycles for as little as 74 cents. If you are tool-impaired and helpless, then buy a Provari and pay them to fix their switch when it fails.

Sigelei switch replacement

I can manage my way around a work bench. I'll look into more info towards the zmax. So far it's between a svd2, the zmax and the provari 2.5 or waiting for p3, which could prove to be a long wait.

Yep, rather than fork out ridiculous money for top of the line APVs I bought two Sigelei V3s so I would have a back-up unit. Then I bought a third because I just had to have the latest V5 model after it came out. The V3s still work fine for me and one is 17 months old. Oddly enough it was the four month-old V5 that got the first switch replacement. They all use the same replacement/upgrade switch. The three Sigeleis cost less than one Provari.

I have the SVD in my stable, almost a year old now. The button went soft a few months in, but keeps on working.

Also have the Tesla VV/VW, which has specs similar to the SVD and Vamo, but is 18650 only. Multi-button like the SVD, and also like the SVD you can lock the settings so they can't be accidentally changed. I'm actually liking it better than the SVD.
