You are right, Jamie and I was only speaking of my best friend whom I feel that I can tell that she reeks. We are tight like that. And I am only concerned for my Dad's health. I had no problem smoking. Not with the taste or the smell, but after not doing it for a period of time, the senses change. No slamming. Just my opinion. I understand how hard it is to stop smoking. I have attempted many times in my life and have failed. I am proud of my accomplishment, as little as it may be at this point and will do my best to continue on my journey to be smoke free. That does not mean that everyone has to follow. To each their own. I can assure you that my friend took no offense and laughed it off. I am not out to upset or offend anyone. It is not my place. Especially since it was not even a month ago that I was a half a pack a day smoker. My comment was meant to be a joke amongst those that I have something newly in common with. Sorry if you were offended.

I agree, the Red Dragon I bought has changed my life, my lungs are beginning to work again :D.

Little FYI, I have seen a few posts from you and you keep harping on a particular product. I don't mind people advertising, but for folks to flame simply for that purpose turns me off from EVER wanting to buy anything from them.

I am deeply disturbed by the veiled references to "stinky smokers" Using the language of the anti smokers helps their hate campaign proceed. You do know that there are those zealots out there waiting for the opportunity to turn the vaping movement into a clone of the smoking movement. Prepare for the assault. Meanwhile , those who participate in this language game will aid the movement against them....divide and conquer. Remember also for many of you it was only a few short days or weeks ago that you were a "stinky smoker"

I'm uncomfortable with all the slamming of smokers on the forum, it seems more lately than before. There were decades before smoking bans where folks managed to co-exist and while it was unpleasant for some, the streets weren't awash with incessantly 'gagging' nonsmokers. Nor were restaurants.

Just my 2 cents.
I didn't see your post before I made mine. I agree wholeheartedly.

I hope that you read post # 22. I was referring to a friend and it was a joke. She did stink! No harm meant. I probably smelled too, as I had just left the gym! I have heard for years from my husband that I stink from smoking. I never smelled it and do now. That's all! It is quite posible that I could be a smoker again in the future, so no bashing or slamming from me. I just made a comment to a friend and shared it here. I did not jump on any nonsmoker wagon. As I said before, nonsmokers were a real PITA and I totally understand that smoker do not want to hear crap. I sympathize! Been there done that!

QueenInNC, no need to apologize or defend. You aren't the only person on the forum, or even this thread, who've made such comments. My post was not directed at you and likely Sherid's post wasn't either, or any one person. We aren't trying to stand up on behalf of your friend. It's, um, not about you. ;) We both addressed the broader issue, with Sherid better articulating what I was also thinking.

i understand what you meant Queen, and congrats on being tobacco free. tomorrow marks my 3rd week without a cigarette... i'm really amazed, and also proud :)

like you i also hope this will be a sucessful alternative for my own loved ones who are heavy smokers... now that i'm "free" i look back on my nearly decade long love affair w/ cigarettes and i feel, almost wronged. like a slave to the tobacco companies and big pharma, paying whatever the price and inhaling whatever the toxins for my addiction.

while i dont have anything against smoking cigarettes or e-cigarettes (i have no intention of quitting nicotine myself), my eyes have really been opened to what smoking cigarettes really is. while we all knew "smoking can kill you" that doesn't seem to matter when its the only pleasurable option for a very real need. now that e-cigarettes are available i've been able to open my eyes to the severity of what i was exposing my body to.

i believe everyone should have the right to smoke or esmoke without judgement, but for myself i'm extremely grateful for this new product and i hope my loved ones will also be able to have similar experiences.

That is... awe inspiring. I wish I could write like that.

If there ever was a more convincing and heartfelt argument for the general acceptance of electronic smoking, I have yet to read it. :thumb:

You should print this in a nice font, and mail a copy to EVERY single member of congress and the senate, as well as every major newspaper in the country (countries?).

I definitely know what you're thinking.

Now, if my boss goes outside for a smoke break, I can smell her the second she steps in the door, and it's all I can do to keep from gagging.

I slowly smoked the remaining cigarettes I had in a pack I purchased before I got my 901, and, by the end of things, I could barely finish them.

Now that they're gone, I'm not at all tempted to buy more. I was kind of happy to finish the pack.
I hear You There D_Struct, I am a Boss, when my lone smoking associate comes back in from break....Pee Yew!...just can't stand the smell anymore! Good thing he has a 901 kit coming from pure smoker...no more stinky associate:)(Great guy though..lol) The Wiz!

Is it really that wrong to vocalize a truth (that smokers stink)? I've been one for 12 years, and associated mainly with smokers as well, and yes, its true, you stink after you burn one... I didnt mind it much either when I still smoked (a whopping 3 weeks ago), but now that I'm getting my sense of smell back, its pretty unreal. I guess I just dont get why some people are so defensive when the factual negatives of analog smoking is pointed out...
