There was a time when ECF was headed down that path. If a member posted an unpopular opinion with a certain clique, they were jumped on by what I call 'The Wolf Pack'. But we eliminated that problem so you won't see that happening here

Ok, I'm sure this won't get me any points ... and I know y'all are likely to take this way more seriously than it's intended but... the last few pages here seem to have turned into a staff self appreciation orgy. Kind of like a company picnic no? can't say I feel like "part of the family".

Yeah, threads do tend to go OT from time to time. Lu is really the biggest offender. That is why we rarely let he out of the "home". It's about time for her to go back in.................

Seriously quick, don't take it personally. There was a transition period when the forum really started to grow that was difficult for some mebers to accept. And while there was some ugliness, it pretty much has worked itself out. We hope you stay and enjoy yourself here...........

btw.. HI Quick1.. it's obvious that we don't know each other so i'll give a greet.. if you understood that i'm an admin at a forum whose domain is in the swear filter around here and that it is most likely the one reffered to in comments like "I hear there are other forums out there where cursing is not only allowed, it's encouraged" you might better appreciate the irony of some of the comments

while i AM here showing a little love to some old friends.. at the same time it reminds them that i am still here and still paying attention

it also shows that i'm still around hoping maybe some old brokeass bridges might be mended someday.. eventually will always come the day that you suddenly realize that whether you liked/like the rules... there are still friends back here

i had my angry phase... it was all in the name of preventing some changes that were made that i didn't agree with.. once the changes were fulfilled... didn't seem any reason to continue being angry anymore.. and couldn't find any fault in the logic of them.. simply not my cup o' tea so i "moved on" without need of a shove

That goes without saying, Tauk. We all have "da mad crush on da Lu", especially Elendil. That's why he keeps her locked up in the home most of the time. He wants to keep her all to himself !!!

Kent, I based my comment on what I have seen. I am not privy to any inside information. They don't keep the "Official Instigator" in the loop.

How can the Official Instigator operate in that type of environment?!! To be an instigator, inside info is a job requirement. lol.

And, I just happen to know of a few cases who didn't know and cared.

One thing I've always admired about Tauki.....I've seen him stand behind his principles even in the face of some fierce adversity. Got to give props where props are due

Nope...no cliques (that I'm aware of anyway). The only outsiders you'll see here are those coming in just to start trouble....and trust me, they won't last long. Elendil will make sure of that

Since this is already OT I thought I'd mention this instead of starting a new thread, but I just noticed - for certain - but noted it ealier - that when one visits a thread and then hits the back button the thread is 'considered' viewed (well when one views the last page and then hits back.) That's a great change, imo. And if you did that, thanks!

What's up with my thread subscriptions? I subscribe and it seems to work for a while -- I go to my Control Panel and there are the threads with new posts. But it seems to quit working after a while. There are new posts on the thread but it doesn't show up any more when I go to my control panel.

Seems to be a timeout on subscriptions... can I set that somewhere?
