i realized how gross smoking really is

the smoke shack at work.......... in one word. YUK. people huddle together in this shed and rot their lungs huddled in a group like pigs off to a slaughter, its disgusting. socially gathering around to kill yourselves. its strange that some of them will sit there in give me stupid remarks on how they feel that vaping is as bad for me as cigarettes are for them. ......, some of them i will tell them to just shut up. dont want to hear the stupid lecture on how my vaping isnt approved by the FDA, frankly i dont care. i think the technology will vindicate itself when 20, 30, even 40 years from now there will not be any cancer, heart disease victims, or emphysema from vaping. these people will say anything to try to justify their habit. frankly i really dont care what they do. i do not care that my NRT method is not approved by the corrupt government. i do care that they leave me alone, i will not comment on their smoking and i do not want to hear from them on my vaping. if i wanted their opinion i would ask for it.

i also hate it when it rains, i get stuck in that smelling, nasty second hand smoke environment since i dont want to stand outside and get soaked, i also know that management would not approve of my vaping in the building. i once had a rude supervisor tell me no smoking in front the building since i was avoiding the smoke-hole (as i call it). i told him i wasnt smoking, he threatned to send me to the office. i wanted to say "go ahead" but i went allong with it. however i wasnt smoking and i would argue that point to the death.

anyways the point of this thread is that i feel there is NO EXCUSE for people to continue to smoke.... i dont really understand why people still do. with this wonderful technology available, there is no good reason to put things so toxic into your body that you cannot even have them at a superfund site. there is literally no good reason to smoke. cigarettes are and outdated 20th century relic/killer and should be snuffed out of existence. i think the ecig should universally replace tobacco (cigarettes in particular) as the socially excepted method of consuming nicotine.

cigarettes are just garbage i wish they would disspear from society. however i am not the crusader to make this happen. if someone i know wishes to quit then i will simply provide them with the knowledge that i have gained and help them do as i have done............. quit smoking garbage

The reason they still smoke is because they're addicted. Companies that make cigarettes planned it that way. Don't judge them, ad, just try to help them out if you can. If you can't, just lead by example.

I agree with base, we all started with stinkies since the chinese came out with the first e-cig way back when so dont be so harsh on the smokers we were among them not to long ago if you were never a smoker then why are you vaping? Just remember why you smoked and all the crummy excuses you used!! Take pity and try to educate as many smokers as we can. Tell somebody what we do and why.. Remember it's all good in the hood when you have love peace & chicken grease...

i buy that they are addicted, was the same reason i continued to smoke all of those years. however i think their excuse has expired now that this technology is on the market. if they are addicted fine, but they can still get their nicotine through much safer means. most of them just arent open minded enough to try e cigs and just continue smoking. 20 years from now they will realize that i am actually quite intelligent but by that time it will be too late for them since they will already have a disease that might be incurable.

Switching to e-cigs takes some determination. When most smokers first try a cig look-alike, it is likely from a drug store (Blu?) and their reaction is that it does not really give them what a cig does - they're immediately turned off. The reason of course is that the performance of these little look-alikes is so poor. Then, if they see one the e-cigs that are really productive (and look like Sharpies or worse) and think they look stupid. Until a more productive e-cig look-alike is commonly available, we won't see a big rush of smokers adopting vaping. Marketing of e-cigs is still in its infancy and quality entry level e-cigs are just not getting into the right sales channels.

the thing is that the US is supposed to be a free country. to me that means free to do what i want. as long as what other people do doesn't infringe on my personal space - and for me that includes unruly children, too much perfume, and lots of things that I find bothersome besides smoking..then I think people should be allowed to do what they want without harrassment.... if I don't want to be around unruly children then i don't go places like chucky cheese! if someone has on too much perfume I move away. but I try to not condemn those people. I don't think smokers are gross or stupid. it wasn't that long since I was one!

I think lack of tolerance & understanding is taking our freedoms away one by one. recently the mayor of new york has reportedly said he wants to ban the sale of soft drinks over a certain size.... and it goes on and on until we no longer live in a free country. frankly I hope I am dead before that happens - although I personally already think this is no longer a free country..

sometimes i reflect and i'm slightly horrified on how much my lifestyle relies on a regular power source. i have basic creature comforts, a pv, and an e-reader. a pv is essential to my daily life (or so i feel), and so is an e-reader. i completely relied on my e-reader to get me through my last little bit of university, which really really blew when i lost ALL of my citations the day before over 100 pages worth of academic papers due to a few classes were due.
while i prefer these electronic tools, i don't really feel anyone not using them is "living in the past". i feel everyone can benefit from them, but i don't scoff at people with books or cigarettes and feel both of those things are archaic. the technology hasn't been around for very long, and the "archaic items" will most likely be widely used for the next century (not to say that's a prediction to their lifespan). and where are we, the enthusiasts, once removed from a regular power source?

We all know how much better we feel now that we don't smoke cigarettes, but when you are smoking you find reasons for not quitting. I always said when I was younger "If I die from smoking, at least then I wll know what I died from" that is so stupid now that I am older, I just don't want to die 10 years or more before my time. That being said, nobody can tell you when to quit but you and till that happens nobody can do anything about it! It's a vice that's super hard to give up and I would like to honor all of us that have!
