You know another random cool thing I am enjoying?

When I travel on business I used to get bored sitting in my room all night (and dying for a smoke) and would generally go outside multiple times for smokes.... put on my coat (it's cold here now) and shoes, wait for the elevator, go all the way through the lobby, stand outside somewhere that I dont p!$$ off the non smoking guests, etc. Complete pain in the @$$.

Now? Stay in my room with my feet up having a drink and watching sports vaping like a madman. :D I love that!

Rental cars? Ha! I chain vape and the car likely smells better when I return it.;) No pulling over to stand outside and smoke.

P.S. I've never had a smoke alarm issue in a hotel ever.:pervy:

Dumb things like that help me understand how stupid and "inconvenient" smoking really was. :)

I had no intention to stop smoking. I was in the smoke shop to buy another pack actually, but the line was long so I looked at the vape gear they had there. I was already slightly interested in the vaping thing as a whole, so I thought "What the hay" and bought a starter kit, instead of another pack of smokes. I vaped the rest of the day, and that night it dawned on me that I hadn't smoked a cigarette all day, and had no desire to. Now, close to a year and half later, my only thought is "Why didn't I start doing this earlier?"

Congrats to ya.
My story is similar--only it was all of the anti-vaping news stories running on the local news that made me wonder if there really was something to it. I went to a B&M the day I opened my last carton with the intention of only to save money (yeah right!). Using smoker's logic, I made sure to finish that carton--but by the end (four weeks later), when I was literally forcing myself not to gag over each puff, I suddenly asked myself, "What the :censored: am I doing?" Never smoked again... almost two years now.

Congratulations on seeing the light, @BreSha6869! :toast:

Kinda cool feeling today when I realized that I have absolutely no desire at all to smoke cigarettes.

I quit cold turkey after 30+ years of smoking a pack a day and started vaping a little over 2 months ago.

I was driving between meetings today merrily vaping away in my truck and it hit me that I really do enjoy vaping and after a while the inhale, exhale and cloud production isn't dissimilar between smoking cigarettes and vaping. Almost as if your brain gets tricked into thinking you are smoking a cigarette.

Very cool moment IMO...

I also smoked over 30 years ... just over 2 years ago was my ah ha moment

Ha! My wife asked me recently when my "vaping is cheaper than smoking" is going to kick in.:D

I admit that I have gone absolutely bonkers in the last 2 months since I started vaping but if I don't spend another cent until this summer, I should start saving serious $$$. ;)

Give it some time. I'd say that I spent the most in the first 6 months. Once you get comfortable with your gear (and you manage to avoid shinyitis ) and have squirreled away more juice than you can vape in a year (trust me--I splurged on a lot of sales and have boxes of juice I haven't even tasted yet), you can go for months without spending a dime.

I think I am pretty much there now. As soon as I quit smoking, I went into vape hyperdrive. ;)

From my first mod to drippers, TC, building coils, DIY juice, etc. in about a month. For me it is a fun hobby and I enjoy learning about it. Interesting as I don't recall ever getting excited about a different kind of cigarette or a new lighter. :D

The only mistake I made was buying tons of different juices during sales before knowing what I really liked. I will likely vape most of it, so not an issue, but I prefer my DIY over most of it.:p

Congratulations on finding your preferred gear. That's a great feeling knowing that switching to vaping is helping you out.

I was thinking about my vaping habits today and the biggest change has to be money spent. I have a few devices and atomizers that I use and I buy a bulk supply of unflavored at a great price(Velvet Cloud unflavored). I've been very satisfied with my supplies and I haven't bought anything in over 6 months. I'll buy my liquid in 500ml a few time a year and that's it. I love it.

Haha I did the same thing... but it wasn't tons. I not only just started vaping, but I also live in Australia and am sourcing my juices from overseas (USA). I don't want customs to take away my vape gear and juices from me!! :p

I was lucky that I have only wasted about $15 on unvapeable juice. I bought a 30ml of a really nutty juice that is super strong and after a few hits, it makes me want to puke. Could be much worse!;)

Hold onto the juices you may not like for when vaper's tongue arrives, lest you will waste your treasured flavours.
