I saw this Reo sale on Reddit..Think its real?

REO currently has units in stock, and they just upgraded their internal hardware to 24K gold plating for better conductivity. That upgrade kit costs $25, and the original grand costs $146 with the upgrade installed. Plus you have support from the modmaker. So you wouldn't prefer to buy from the maker for $15 more than that site WITHOUT the $25 sub kit that currently comes from the original maker free? Because to buy there, you're paying $10 more than the original

Oh. Never heard of Massdrop before, and I didn't want to register so just looked under the sign up. So I just signed up to see it. I have no idea. I'd still feel better buying from REO directly.
Massdrop is just a way to coordinate group buys. If the seller (in this case, Rob) provides a discount for bulk purchases, that's how the price is reduced. Since it's a new purchase, obviously the SO kit will already be installed because Rob doesn't sell them without. One would assume that the prices listed have already been cleared with Rob.
MY guess is this is gray market dumping. Someone who is buying from Rob at wholesale reseller pricing is dumping them. I'm sure he's not happy about it.
Maybe Rob will post his thoughts on this.... I would be interested to hear them..
DOES Rob wholesale? I don't recall seeing REO's on vendor sites. Course, I don't look at a lot of vendor sites either.

Yepper why wouldn't we ...... The man has treated all of us right for years. I'm not trying to save money, I think he should charge a little bit more actually. For what you get all the REOs are a steal.
If Rob's business was a Sony/Starbucks/*Enter big name corporate business* then I would be all about a good deal... But since he is a small business owner I would have to side with Tim on this one. I do not mind paying a little bit more for all the personalized support. I actually work for a distributor, and it's one thing to get a good multiplier on a product that is mass produced (10000+/mo) in order to gain market share but even in my industry there are specialized hand crafted items that we just cannot get a good bulk discount on, and that is OK. If people want the best of the best they'll pay, and if people want to penny pinch and find lower quality alternatives then they can buy an ego

It is legit I sell whole sale to brick and mortar stores all the time . This is a one time adventure they wouldn't give up I finally gave in and said I will do it .
Well there you have it. So nagging you works? How about those SLs anno'ed in colors?
