I have been trying like crazy to get my mother to totally quit smoking. I keep everything cleaned and filled for her and the only thing she has to do is keep her battery charged. She just won't quit smoking. True I think that she is not smoking near as much (which is a good thing)

I was lucky when I started vaping I had no intention of quitting smoking. Was going to smoke at work but vape in my car and house. But after a couple of weeks I found myself vaping at work also because it jsut tasted better! I finally just quit buying cigarettes and haven't had one in almost 3 years.

See, I started vaping with full intentions of quitting smoking, after years of wanting to (for good) and many failed mini-attempts using mainstream NRT, plus a full quit which lasted 10 months. I occasionally think 'oh maybe' and once got up to vape outside. that's as close as it gets though. To me, I have all I needed in cigarettes in my e-cig, plus I can smoke indoors and chain vape for the various fixes.

I had an opened pack sitting next to my front door for over a year after I stopped smoking... afraid to throw them out. Don't beat yourself up, you're doing fine

I also quit a thing with a supply to hand, it's the free will aspect with me. I'm choosing not to use as opposed to being told I can't. My uncle had a pack of tobacco in his wardrobe for 3 years after he quit. He used to go and laugh at it now and and again and occasionally kick it around the room. I still have tobacco in the house.

I think most people that switch to vaping will occasionally have a smoke. I've had about one per month since I switched. Habitual smoking over the long term is what we're trying to eliminate here, because that is what causes the damage.

Nine cigarettes in 14 months? I know people that self identify as nonsmokers that have had more than that.

I'm honestly glad I'm not around another smoker right now, I'm sure if I was I wouldn't be doing as good as I am right now with not smoking!

My dad quit smoking (cold turkey) about 5 years ago when he was in the hospital for 3 months after a bad surgery.. Anyways the point of that is, He still has withdraws and craves a cigarette .

Yeah just like everyone else was saying don't beat yourself up over it. There have been times I was weak willed and had a few drinks with friends and I smelt the analog and went and had a few. Probably about 10 since November?

I still do enjoy the occasional wood tip black n mild though. Especially the jazz flavor. But those I only buy once in a blue moon now.

I have a similar story to share which you may relate to, I also tried a cigarette, actually about 1 hour ago, I don't know why I did it but in a funny sort of way, I'm glad I did. The first thing I noticed was how thin it felt in my hand, how weird it was lighting it up, the taste was horrible and where was all my vaper ? the smoke out of these isn't enough, I felt sick and light headed and halfway down, put it out, drank a gallon of water, put my clothes in the wash and had a shower, feeling totally disgusted with myself and feeling I had let everyone I love down....but I got to thinking, I'm glad I tried one because Im pretty certain I won't be doing it again, it just enforced it more that cigarettes are nasty and when I picked up my vape and tasted that luke warm custard donut flavour and filled the air with that cool thick vaper, I knew, man I prefer vaping.

I guess I'll share mine; I was fasting and my e-cig makes me cough after I have a good meal and when i am vaping for the first time in the day. I am certain that it means that I need a lower level of nic in my e-juice, and has nothing to do with the build. So since I didnt want to go through that enough cough episode I had one. Luckily it was a terrible brand that allowed me to go back to my vaping since I had that as well. I even forgot that I had a cigarette until I read this thread. So its ok if you've had one, just dont stress over it.

I do tell my wife so she can yell at me for having a cigarette heh heh lol.

just a thought perhaps it would help to increase your nic a little -if you are chain vaping I am wondering if your nic juice is too light
I am using low nic lvls , In sub ohm tanks though. I cut my nic down to 6mg because I chain vaped with higher resitance tanks and it was making me a little sick, when I went sub ohm I had to cut it down to 3 mg because I was buzzin myself up on 6mg. Clouds and flavor is the fix I need not nicotine. I would just adjust to higher nic lvls.

No that wasnt the reason why I had a cigarette. :(

I know, I was making light of it. I was kinda hopefu for you...

We all do it, whoever hasn't slipped on the pole at least a few times? My opinion is that instead of beating ourselves up, we can say 'yeah, I had one cigarette' in context that it was one cigarette, not in context of we messed up, or relapsed, or however we read it. So we try not to smoke cigarettes at all, in an ideal world. Each one we don't smoke is a kicking for lots of bad things, but one now and again, it happens. Well done us, for all the ones we cut out

Sounds normal to me. In my first six months of vaping, I was still smoking unfiltered rolling tobacco. My smoking reduced within that 6 months and I found I was smoking maybe 1-2 roll-ups a day instead of 10-12 when without vaping. About 8 months in and with a new tank instead of the beginners e-cigarette I had stopped smoking altogether. It's been at least 18 months now smoke free.

As long as you are determined you'll get there as your body and mind adjusts to vaping instead of smoking :)

Big deal you slipped it happens.

Besides that there is alot od dual users here. Some of us just havent been able to kick smokes 100% others vape simply to smoke less, but not quit. We occasionly get bashed so we dont mention it.

Keep it up though 1 cig isnt nothing.
