If you ask about the indicator, you shure can use it if you have a power supply with 12V. No approach to portable e-cigarettes.
lol was just sad that I even had that thought though. Used to be I would just think cool and go on.

That's ok, I've got an led "chaser" circuit I'll toss in a mod one day and and call it the "Cymod"...now I can toss that in too and program it to say "by your command"

You could do an 8.4v VV mod with a set resistance booster circuit for the 12v on the speaker.

Sure it would. The light saber would be a perfect enclosure for 2 batts in series.
You could do one circuit for VV and one circuit for a dedicated booster to provide
12v's to the speaker. A lot of replicas I have seen have an angled hood on the end
that would be perfect for a LED to light up a tank.
There's lots of sounds available, like this one.

This is weirding me out .... Honestly I woke up this morning and saw my old lightsaber..... And was thinking about modding it........
Well, FWIW, if anyone is considering this. I just looked at the spec sheet, and while it is listed
at 12v's the operating range is listed at 7 to 24v's. No need for a booster circuit.
The only problem is, the rated amps is pretty low.
If I know half as much as I think I do, can't you use a diode or something to limit amperage?

Ohhhhh no my kids actually have one of those that is unused cause they outgrew it.....wonder if the would notice it missing..lol Maybe its a good thing that I don't know much about modding yet. BUT I am learning. 
I was thinking of using one of those stupid "clap on-clap off" things in my next mod
this way I wont have to press a button, but then I wouldnt have a hand to hold the mod
