Sure it would. The light saber would be a perfect enclosure for 2 batts in series.
You could do one circuit for VV and one circuit for a dedicated booster to provide
12v's to the speaker. A lot of replicas I have seen have an angled hood on the end
that would be perfect for a LED to light up a tank.

There's lots of sounds available, like this one.

Well, FWIW, if anyone is considering this. I just looked at the spec sheet, and while it is listed
at 12v's the operating range is listed at 7 to 24v's. No need for a booster circuit.
The only problem is, the rated amps is pretty low.

If I know half as much as I think I do, can't you use a diode or something to limit amperage?
