Well not started perse but the first vaping device i tried was this:

-2-4-Carry-Case-Rechargeable-E-Cigarette-502-.jpg

Ex girlfriend of mine who was a stewardess brought it from China in one of her trips (she hated that i smoked)
Kinda weird to carry that around, always got funny looks when i plugged what looked like a pack of cigs directly in the wall :lol:
Remember one night a friend of mine slapped me hard on the face,i mean like really really hard.
Thing is that we were out in the pub and i had one to many,i thought i was using regular cigarettes and not this weird vaping thing so i borrowed a lighter and tried to light it.
Friend saw me and he was afraid i might blow me head off so he slapped the e-cig off my mouth, still hurts when i remember lol

I only used it for less than a month...i think,it was so long ago.

After that i went back to smoking cigarettes until November 2019 when they opened a vape shop in the small town where i live.
First vaping apparatus i got me was a Vaporesso VECO,used that for about 3 months then slowly worked my way into rebuildables.

I could never get the tanks to work and ended up dripping. Not very purse or long drive friendly.
Sent from my LM-G850 using Tapatalk

Wouldn't know about "purse friendly", but try dripping while steering 75,000 lbs. at 70 MPH.
Then @classwife suggested I look into REOS Mods. A nearly indestructible Grand with a 6ml onboard bottle. Burned up a few cartomizers learning to blind squonk, but at least I could make it through a 500 to 600 mile day on one mod.

I started with cigalikes back in 08 or 09, you could only get them from a stall at a local mall. When the stall shut down I moved to E-lite Elite cigalikes from Chicago that I got on-line. Used them for around 5 years. Cut down on smoking but couldn't stop. Then eGo gear for a year and almost made it. Finally got a Sigelei mod and Pro Tank and quit right away.

I started with a Volcano Inferno 1100mah Evod clone and a Tabac tank atomizer...

This was a feeble, gurgly vape but it got me off the smokes. Thank goodness for the improvements I discovered in the following years. Looking back, it has been a wonderful journey and I wouldn't trade a second of it because of where I am today.

(apologies if someone else has already done this)
Yes... there has been a thread on this... but since you asked. I went to a "smoke shop" (not just cigs but that was the main business) the guy recommended an Aspire PocketX... small pen style AIO. With that, I went from pack day to 5 a day (that was as a big breakthrough for me) that was the beginning of my vaping journey. That was my only device for months, then got a Innokin "Ez-watt" and some Aspire Nautilus X tanks (and coils) Didn't like the 18 mm tank... coils were OK but too restricted airflow for me. Still use that little EZ watt as my carry around... have put that thing through many miles... still works. I would say thanks Aspire (for my original device) but really want to thank Innokin for my my first "real mod" ;)

Before ECF, in late July 2012, I found and bought a subscription cigalike service called Eversmoke. I was so excited because I knew this was gonna work. I still have the email when I ordered. I never smoked again when I received it on August 9th. I thought all the flavors were just great. Loved it, but they didn’t last very long.
Bless you... I don't like saying his. but I quit for 8 months (thanks to ECF support) and have slipped... still have a couple in the morning (bowing my head in shame)

Good old school story... funny how some people still don't get it... would slap that out of your face to "save your life" LOL. The damage has been done (hard to undo...)

My first was ovale ego t I think it was 2013.....man the dry hits was tasting like burned plastic...lol
And the juices sucked...
Some natura? Or something i think Italian? I remember I had no idea what taste it was...
Then after a year a KangerTech mini protank 2 with a vision spinner 1000mah battery..
The vape was very good and the juices I could find was much better locally...
Then i quit vaping again cause I had weird issues...
And 2020 I got a zlide for my last attempt in vaping cause all those years I was sad that I couldn't vape...
And now I never go back cause it's awesome and I am deep in the vape hole :p

Hmmm.... 650 fixed voltage ego topped with CE5s. 18 mg/ml juice for the first week, dual using. Upped the dose to 24 and combust tobacco was history. A few months at 24, then dropped to 18 - with the advent of, gasp, VV!! Spinners to the rescue ;)

Knowing myself, and being pretty skeptical, I kept with that kind of power sourcefor my first year off smokes, but did move "up" to the venerable Pro Tank. First vapeaversary got myself an Innokin SVD (still works, squishy fire button and all, although all my tubes are in retirement, replaced with various VW box mods ;) ) and a KF clone. I'd been rebuilding those tiny Kanger heads for a while by then, so going to a true RTA wasn't a big step. Well, actually a lot easier!

December 2013. Halo Triton. eGo-style. I didn't realize they used non-standard (808?) threads, and I initially ordered the smallest (400 mAh) batteries, which I quickly realized was a mistake. However, I've never regretted that purchase because it took me from 40+ a day to one a day in three or four days, and on day 5 some upgrades got me over the hump.

I believe this is my earliest vape-stuff picture:

The first week it was the eGo-C. By the second week, I got a 510 kit with the skinny batteries. Soon after was the 306 atomizer on the 510 skinny batteries, then on the eGo batteries.

I quit smoking from the very beginning with the eGo-C. But, what kept me happy was the 306. Until the problems they have with QC got to be too big of a problem.

Then I just tried lots of stuff: 808, 810, CE3, etc. Then discovered carto-tanks. That kept me happy for a while.

If QC wasn't an issue with the 306, that would have been enough: dripping on a 306 with an eGo battery.

I saw ecigs on the website where I ordered my tobacco from. I immediately joined ECF and researched, then ordered a 510 which arrived Sep 11 2009. I never smoked another cigarette. About 2 months later, I built my first mod, a box mod with a 14500 battery. Since then I've bought enough mods and other e-cig stuff fill 2 36 qt. containers.

Over 3 years ago, I started vaping with an Innokin endura t18 and t22 kit.

At that time, I had no intention of quitting smoking. I had to stop smoking for a couple of fractures to heal. My master plan, was to go back to smoking after a month or so.

After a month of vaping, I started to prefer it over smoking. After 3 months of vaping, I knew my master plan had failed - I was now a vaper, and 3 months smoke free.

The absolute reliability and quality of these Innokin products played a HUGE part in those early months. If I'd had to deal with leaky tanks, and bad coils, I would've gone back to smoking.

Oh man, those clearos with the silica wick hanging down into the juice. Blast from the past

I remember using a few and could not for the life of me figure out why they always tasted funny. Probably cause the coils were constantly starved of liquid. Nice Mini Protank btw. I still have one of mine laying around.

I made a point of tilting those sideways to wet the coil between each puff.

I'm probably still have some somewhere too. The thing on the left was a Kanger Uni Tank -- their first effort at a top-fill tank. It used the same heads as Pro Tank, but it was generally awful; dry-hit city, and being a bottom-coil tank, tilting it was no solution.

My first attempt was with a Blue system I picked up at Costco (of all things). While those things did not produce much vapor or last very long I could see the potential in vaping which lead me to a local dedicated vape shop.

There for a bit over $100 they set me up with a VV pen like mod (with a uUSB charging port on the side), Aspires version of the CE4 and 10ml of 18mg juice. Bringing that home I never smoked again.

The first to go was that little bitty tank, first upgrade was to a Nautlus mini and then came the 18350 VV tube mods and full sized Nautlus and the Vmax.

After that it gets rather blurry as I seemingly dove into three different things at once: TC mods, rebuilding and making my own juice.

Years later while I can't really call myself a "toodle puffer" I still don't really blow cloud patterns ether. I simply do what works for me.

I still have that old pen mod setup (charged it up and loaded it with 50mg salts and it still works!).
