I just stay put till fashion comes around again...

Trousers still need a big hole at the top for the trunk to poke in and two smaller ones at the bottom for the feet to poke out. Styles in between ? Seen just about every conceivable variation on that theme 'trousers/pants' come and go and come and go again.

All I care is that vapin as a whole is booming. There is strength in numbers.

So I suffer the smarta*** kiddies with a condescending smile.

We weren't any different at their age :D

A Reo is a tool like a hammer or a fine wood chisel they never go out of date. Learn how to use it maintain it and it will be by your side for the rest of your life . I think this is something lots of people miss or don't understand . Its a old school tool in a modern world . The whole roast your lung cloud chasing fad will pass eventually one has to ask himself why am I doing this . Slamming through massive amounts of juice ripping through batteries like a hog on a bucket of slop . Eventually people get back to there lives and blowing massive clouds doesn't really fit into most peoples daily activities .

The sad part is were the green horns start there vaping journey today . They never even try a nice single coil build at a respectable ohm . They start out chasing the cloud on a 40 pound atty . Its to bad it has to be this way I could go on and on but I wont and I would probably offend someone and that is not my intent . That is my rant enjoy the day :)
Hear, hear. Good rant, Rob. I love my "old school tool(s)".....all of them. I just had a talk with my niece and my nephew last month when I handed them their brand new ordered-just-for-them REO Woodvils, and that's pretty much exactly what we talked about. I called them high-end tools and told them that the REOs could outlive them. They were (are) ecstatic with them and they totally get it. They've been using a couple of my Mini 2.1s for about a year, and they both think they died and went to heaven with these Woodvils. They've both told me about a hundred times thank you and how much they love them. They're in their late 30s, and had smoked for a long time....and had tried to quit several times.

@ed101z, you're exactly right....a lot of the new cloud-chasing whippersnappers have only played at smoking....and now they're playing at vaping. (I am totally NOT saying that no cloud-chasers are serious; I'm saying that many of the not-serious vapers are cloud-chasers. There's a difference. )

I second both what you and ed101z said. I got the RM8 to see what else is out there besides the RM2 (which I still love, it's just the only atty I have exp with) as well as to see what the fuss was about with bigger clouds, and to show the whippersnappers that this old school retro tech hunk of metal can hang and keep up with the latest and greatest new school 1.21 jigawatt tech! While I do love me a nice thick "cloud", I don't need to be in the middle of a thunderhead every waking minute of the day! While I'm digging my new dual coil setup, It'll probably go back to and stay a single coil more often then not. I was a smoker for the better part of 22 years and the one thing that trumps everything else when it comes to vaping is a warm vape and a throat hit that's similar to smoking. That nice burn you'd get in the back of your throat....yeah...that! Flavor and vapor tie in at a close second. close to 2 years with REOs and only REOs, I have no desire to change it up, not one bit!

JC I wish I had a relative like you! Gifting Woodvils to nephew and niece? Most Awesomest Relative EVER!!!

I'm not saying I haven't chucked clouds either but they were incidental in trying to get maximum flavor out of the gear I have . But I'm not disdainful of any vape gear with the exception of cigalikes and the Kanger trash of 3 years ago , much wasted money and juice using that crap . I have and use other mechs besides my Reo , I have a ss 26650 Panzer that doubles as a shillelaigh in a pinch . :) But I am a retired chef and the whole game for me is about intensity of flavor and dripping has always been the best way to achieve that so the Reo is the natural progression for me . I also have an appreciation of the artistry that goes into the making of a Woodville , as a chef you learn to appreciate the craftmanship that goes into the making of a fine knife so Rob's statement about a Reo being a fine tool hits dead center for me .

Long story short... smoked since I was a teenager in high school. Started out with "Blu" cigalikes. Went to tanks, rebuilding, and e-go Twist batteries. Next, came drippers for better flavor. Finally came the Reo Grand (after wasting lots of money). There's no turning back now. For me... it's Reo's for life.

I'm the kind of person that if I come across something that I like and I like a lot I will take that item....or dish and run with it regardless of the very real possibility that something is out there that I would like more. At a restaurant, once I find a dish that I love, that's what I will get time and time again, I may change it up every now and again but the one that hit the spot will be a tough job to top! The same with the REO.......the REO fits my lifestyle to a T with it's durability, simplicity, and minimalist approach and if I do get others, they'll end up as couch mods since I've had close to two years bonding with my REOs. When I eventually get my paws on a Woodvil, it'll definitely be that couch and special occasion mod (especially when going to a B&M!), but I'll always go back to the metal.

    Aunt.....long lost aunt...... :)

I thought for sure that you were a gal and put Aunt instead of relative initially in my post Saw that guy call you uncle and I quickly changed it thinking I was wrong! I'm glad my long term memory is still intact!

Yup, I started on Blu too and after the 3rd one I bought an 650 eGo-C starter kit which I used for 5 months until I gathered enough fluff for my first REO. The rest is REOstory!

I got similar comments is some B & M shops, pro's and some con's about my REO. Probably the most ignorant comments are about using "Old School" gear. Hmmm, yes, I may be old, but to see how they carry their juice bottles, cheap quality batteries, and proud of themselves for blowing large clouds is humerus. One thing I do know, since I drive about 3 hours a day, I can vape and drive at the same time....everything I need in one hand. Oh, most importantly, flavor is fantastic, and btw, my clouds aren't shabby either. REO, the only mod you'll every need, and simply the best out there....period!

I do enjoy using my other mechs , my out and about combo for anything that has work involved is a Stingray topped with a Rose V2 . A well built Rose is very difficult to beat in the flavor department , the RM2 is a close match for it . But I can say that the REO is much easier to pocket , but since the Woodville is the only REO I have and I'm not gonna risk damaging it , the Stingrays are still on duty . I also use some other RDA's to scratch the itch when I get a craving for a juice I'm not gonna tank like the gunkier NET's I enjoy vaping . I do wanna get my hands on an LP Grand to use as a work mod simply for the convenience of putting it in a shirt pocket instead of having to lock a Stingray and shove it in my jeans .

My tumbled aluminum raw reo grand is my work around the house reo.. it's perfect for ruff work.

Now the new economy reo is a no brainer for someone looking for a mod for ruff work.

Exactly what I was thinking , I'm wondering what's involved if you wanna add door magnets to one though ?

I'm retired; but I spent my carreer in a pretty 'down and dirty' profession (Pipefitter/welder). Unfortunately, there was no vaping at the time. But I've thought about what I would carry as my work mod, if there were. No doubt, it would have been a TRA LP Grand.

Being in the car all day is the main factor as to why I finally wised up and started paying more attention to this "Reo" I've been reading so much about on ECF. The reason I have used my Reo's exclusively for over a year now is as Rob said, they truly are a fine tool. You don't have to buy a new one every few months, but you do anyway
Also, I was in a vape shop in Florida a few months ago. The counter monkey there was an older guy. He not only knew what my Reo was, he had me show it off to his customers! Wisdom with age I suppose.

Pick up a set of magnets (you'll need four) and some non-expanding superglue. Rob says the holes for the magnets are already milled, so just glue them in (making sure you got the polarities right - don't want to accidentally make a door repeller).

I expect all my mechs will last quite awhile but the feel of the Woodville in my hand can't be beat . I already knew they were habit forming , I've been watching Papawbrett expand his collection for the last coupla years , damned glad of it too ! :)

Hmmmm , opposing polarities and a quick release latch , oughta make a fine counter monkey whacker ! :) Thanks Papa !
