I swore when I started smoking "analogs" that I would quit before 30...

.... and 30 is rapidly approaching (Feb 11th!)

If I do actually reduce nicotine dependence, that's all well and good, but the reason I want to quit "smoking" is that I am sick of the health problems. I want to breathe. I want to not smell like smoke. I want to reduce the trash and not have to dump out ashtrays. I want to not be tempted to litter when I'm driving (damn cars don't come with ashtrays anymore!) It's a dirty, stinky, nasty habit.

But I like nicotine.

I also like the idea of paying $25 for two weeks worth of nicotine instead of $60 for 10 days!

I research any purchase I make, which is why I came here. And it looks like the consensus is that the 510 gives the most realistic smoking experience? It seems like everyone is happy with them... I currently smoke menthol cigarettes, so I will have to try to find a menthol flavoring I like. I looked at the Halo items, and they seemed very good...

Any pointers? Any best vendors for the Joye 510 (or vendors to avoid)? Any moral support? Any recommendations from former Turkish Jade or Virginia Slim Menthol smokers for the best tasting/most realistic liquids for transition?

I want to have my vaporizer and be smoking it so I can put my last "analog" out on February 11, 2010 at 02:51 AM.... :)

Welcome and congrats! I too started with the 510. I love it! I am looking forward to owning a big boy mod tho'. :p

cignot.com has a smoking deal (a little pun intended!) on a no box 510. $35 plus shipping. And any order over $59 is free shipping. Terri & Vicky are fantastic!!!!! Their response time is so fast and so consistent, you have to wonder if maybe they're robots.... or aliens even!8-o

Seriously, the longest response time I've had was 5minutes. But I've had many responses in less than that. Orders mailed same day every time so far. That's pretty amazing if you ask me. Can't say enough about the girls @ cignot!! :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Oh, and can't really help with menthol. Altho' my wife loves the choc/menthol Lauren makes @ wordupecig.com. It's not on their list, but you can leave a note in the message sect. asking for it.

Thank you!

One other question..... Maybe I'm weird, but I love the look of the 510 copper.

But as I'm a menthol smoker and I can't find any 510 copper starter kits that will let me customize to menthol for the five copper cartridges, anyone know where I can find the copper cartridges that are blank/empty?

Thanks bunches!

Allrighty, well, I've made my purchases...

Hardware:

Joye-510 Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit (Copper)
acPCC (Silver) Joye 510 PCC (Silver)
Filter4 Joye 510 Black blank filters (10 pack)-(Flat)

Software:

MyFreedomSmoke Sampler Pack:

* Bottle 1: Dunhill -- 18mg
* Bottle 2: Menthol -- 18mg
* Bottle 3: Clove -- 18mg
* Bottle 4: Vanilla -- 18mg
* Bottle 5: Blueberry Cheesecake -- 18mg
* Bottle 6: Cappuccino/Caramel -- 18mg

--------

I smoke lights, and I don't inhale deep, so I figured the 18mg would be a decent strength to start out with so I didn't overwhelm myself. The Starter Kit comes with the Marlboro-type cartridges that are 24mg, so if I need more nicotine maybe I can drip some of the menthol liquid in them to make myself able to stand them. It seems in adverse side effects more people have ODed than UDed on the nicotine level!

Since I wasn't sure if Chris could/would mix the cappuccino/caramel for the sampler pack, I said "If you can't do the Cappuccino/Caramel in the sampler, I understand
-- in that case I will go with Root Beer. These are the first liquids I've ordered and I'm a currently a menthol smoker so I hope I can become a regular customer!" in the special instructions field.

Can't wait for everything to arrive!

Thank you so much for the welcome!

I've been reading this forum so much that I am going to be counting the minutes until my gear arrives. I hope this will be the solution that helps me give up tobacco for good -- if not I'm still giving it up, I am just afraid it will be a lot harder.

This way, I can give up tobacco without giving up nicotine. And that would be a blessing!!! Because oh boy, tonight has been a night at work that would have broken a quit for me, for sure....

welcome Moriah! I love me the 510, and cignot.com is AWESOME, especially quick.

Glad I chose one everyone seems to like a lot.

I've not even received it yet but have talked to so many people who are trying to quit or who want to quit or who don't want to quit but think the thing will be cool that I'm going to be doing a lot of showing off once it gets here.... :)

I don't know how comfortable you are with mixing but what I did was order some stronger nic juice in my case 54mg/ml some PG and DV Menthol from Totally Wicked. They charge a premium but was nice having mixing recipe and everything I needed in one pack to start out. Having the mixing kit allowed me to make small sample batches of various strengths till I was happy.

I finally settled on 22mg/ml strength and reduced menthol flavor from the default recipe. Since then I have found cheaper suppliers of juice and ordered some 1/4 oz of pure menthol crystals to produce my own flavor cheaper. Alot of places have small 5ml or so sample packs that you can get alot of flavors at once in small quantity of the premixed juice. Also PG or VG can be gotten in large quantity incredibly cheap be careful not to get taken for a ride on that.

I have some mint black tea coming from Nhaler that I read good things about I can't wait!

Since I got the six different flavors, I was thinking about trying to mix the Dunhill, Menthol, and Vanilla for the first attempt at a cigarette-like one for the first atomizer in my kit, and then I'll probably load one of the clove for the 2nd atomizer. (I didn't realize that I needed a different atomizer for best results for each flavor!) I may not be able to afford four other atomizers right away, but we'll see!

(I set up my signature to reflect my planned quit date of Feb 11th.)

Congratulations! ... I just started with the 510 today & I'm lovin' it!

I'm sure you will too!

I'm vaping pre-filled Marlboro for right now, but I'm looking forward to trying some of the great ideas that I've read about on here ... making my own cartridges using the Pyramid Tea Bag material and trying English Toffee! :D

Best of Luck & Enjoy, Tom

I see you have already made your first order, so that is cool. I am pretty research heavy also I put together the culmination of all my findings in this thread.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sonal-starter-kit-placing-my-first-order.html

I didn't see any prices on your order, there are quite a few places you can check to compare prices when you get to the point where you want to resupply. I do like that sample package. At some point I might look into getting one. Another piece of advice I got about juice strengths, is if everything is the same price. You can save money buy ordering the strongest strength in whatever flavors you like. Then after you receive those bottles you can dilute them. You can dilute them when refilling, something like 3 drops from the bottle per 1 drop of dilution, or get some empty bottles and cut the juice directly that way.

Try starting with the m401. It is well balaced between vapor production, flavor, and battery life. If you smoke analog cigarettes...the m401 is goling to feel and look alot more like what you are used to.

I have the 510 and the m401 and I love them both. For me the m401 is the perfect "on the go" e-cigg. I must have my 510 in the morning though! ;)
