The relationship between ohms, watts, and volts is not lost on; I understand that when I adjust the volts I'm raising (or loweriing) the wattage output and that if I were in VW mode adjusting the wattage would in turn adjust the voltage needed to achieve that and how the ohm resistance fits in. The variable that I was missing was the airflow/ juice uptake part. That's why after a certain point I am getting dry hits, which makes absolute sense, because it's the same reason I don't use 100% VG in them anymore. Looks like I will be investing in new toppers if I want a better cooling effect and consequently larger and more flavorful vapor. Thank you all, you have been very informative and helpful as always.

Ya know you can add an AFC (airflow control) to your PT, right. But you will still have limited juice flow due to the PT atty design.
But, I like you and your PT, vape at 7watts on my KF 3.1 and am perfectly happy. So, vape what you like. Being capable of driving 140 mph and the desire to do that are yours alone.

Lefty, max. vg will shorten most any coil's life span including the Nauty's. Be sure to "prime" the Nauty coils before applying power. Just drip about 5 drops or more right down the coil to soak good and proper, then start low volts/watts and work up. When the juice gets down to about 1/4 away from empty, just give the top where the glass screws in 1/4 turn to break seal so you won't have problems getting it off. Might also want to apply juice around the big fat bottom seal to lubricate. Also helps in getting off when brand new. :)

Watts (W) can be defined as Amps (I) times Volts (V) => W = I x V

But the problem that a Vaper might have is not knowing what the Amps are.

From Ohm's Law, we know that Volts (V) is Amps (I) times Resistance (R) => V = I x R

If you throw a little Algebra on Ohm's Law, you can express Amps (I) as Volts (V) divided by Resistance (R) = > I = V / R

Now when you go to calculate Watts, and the Amps are Unknown, you can substitute Amps in the Equation for Voltage divided by Resistance.

So

W = I x V

=> W = (V/R) x V

=> W = (V/R) x (V/1)

=> W = (V x V) / R

And that is where the Second Volts comes from in the Watts Formula that we use.

This formula dose not work. I tried it with several apps on my Iphone and nothing! New rule if a formula is not I friendly it cant be posted!!!!!

I think the Universe as we know it would be Much Simpler if the abbreviation for Amps was "A" instead of "I".

What Language did they the "I" from?

Im a card carrying knuckle drager. I never did understand why some people chose to mix math with their english both are pretty hard for a guy to get his mind around at times, and when you mix'em its dam'ed near impossible! ;)

French, I think. Not sure what it stands for though, since I don't know french! :D

Don't feel too bad, Buzz, my eyes glazed over for a second. :blink:

zoi is a great guy to have around though if you pester him enough about a technical question he will dumb it down enough so you can kinda sorta understand what hes talking about. ;)

and hes a Tull fan so that goes a long ways!

Thanks Buzz.

I'm trying to work off my Bad Karma points for that Incident with the Seeing Eye Dog in the Cross Walk. Every time I help someone here I get 10 Good Karma Points.

No.

The piece you're missing is wire thickness; wire gauge.

Thicker wire takes more power.

Kanthal A1
gauge ----- watt per ohm (per coil) for 200mW/mm2
34 ----- 1.4
32 ----- 3
30 ----- 6
28 ----- 10
26 ----- 23
24 ----- 45
22 ----- 91
20 ----- 182
