I think I've got a handle on this, but want to run it by the more experienced before I dive... again :p

First off, I don't smoke, but my girlfriend does. She smokes half to 3/4 pack per day of Marlboro Menthol 72s, in the blue pack. I did some research to buy her an ecig kit and after reading many reviews, I bought here the Prosmoke. Now before you go lambasting me for this obviously noobish poor choice, I wish I would have read this before my purchase was made. We (my girlfriend and I) had nothing but problems with it. In fact, we had all the same problems this poor reviewer had. What a crap product! IMO, DO NOT BUY! I've been doing some additional research and am thinking the eGo would be a MUCH better choice.

There were some other issues independent of the prosmoke. For example, my girlfriend said, "it would take some getting used to". As for her smoking is more of an "experience". From the light, to the burn and the feeling of the chemicals. I do smoke cigars on occasion, so I do know what a good nicotine hit feels like. Especially when smoked while drinking excellent scotch with friends and/or family, so I may use it myself from time to time. Anyway, I want this to be an easy transition for her. Whatever product I get for her, it should be fully automatic. No mess, no fuss. If she has to tinker with it in any way, she wont use it. I'm hoping the eGo will be the right product. I don't think the KR808 or the 510 will work that well for her. Not enough batter life.

So, here are my questions:

Given the information above, is the eGo really the best way to go here?
If so, where should I buy an eGo? I want excellent customer service!
What options should I get? It needs to be convenient to carry around and use for days at a time.
Can I reload the cartridges?
If so, where can I get high quality vegetable based menthol flavored juice?
Where can I get high quality vegetable based menthol flavored cartridges to start with?

Thanks y'all for your time!
Great forum you have here.

Cheers!

You know It is kind of subjective. The older non adjustable s are old Technology the best I can tell. I have a pass-through gotten when my twist died. HAVE A SPARE.
I like the twist because of it's size but reading the voltage is hard.
The reason for variable voltage is that not all Atomizers are the same. They have a different ohms rating (resistance) so being able to change the voltage is pretty handy.
Juice is very subjective. Matter of need and taste.
There are a ton of suppliers listed under Forum suppliers. I would trust them over ones I don't know outside. Personal opinion!
Go for a low PG or No PG and a high VG and from there its a matter of testing them. Get some 10ml or smaller and get a variety of them.
For me I found moving away from tobacco flavor early got me to not want it any more. There are both sweet and savory (sweet and not) and the list is unbelievable. Lijke bacon. yummmm.
I use to be a 2-4 cigar a day inhaler. So I had it bad. I use a high nicotine count. As high as 48mg per ml. But she should start at say 16mg. Just an opinion from former cig smokers I know.
Hope this helps PM me if you have a techi question. I use to be an Electronic tech and I know a little about the techi part.
I'll post a response on here .
Welcome
Lots of brain power on here and very diverse experience too.

I don't think there is a completely fuss free ecig. but it becomes routine and for me it's worth it.

I am not sure the ego comes in automatic, someone will correct me if I'm wrong. most people want to start with an auto, but again pushing the button becomes routine quickly for most. and most prefer it.

you can reload cartridges (carts), but you will be encouraged to use cartomizers (cartos), most people prefer them

here is the deals and steals thread:

and the positive review section, these two links may help you choose a vendor

good luck :)

For me, in the beginning, it was 90% habit. I wanted to open a pack of smokes, puff on it a cig a few times, feel the soothe, toss it... repeat.

For me the mini ecigs were a good start. I still use them often. My ego's are for the 10%; the addiction. Keeping my nic levels up so i don't get cravings. Some times i couldn't get enough from the mini cigarette style devices; so the ego was great.

*** It IS going to take some getting use to.
*** Going to need some will power.
*** Going to need to want to do it.
*** Going to need patience.
*** Going to take time to learn to trust the ecig. It took (is taking) me over a month to get to where i believe in the ecig.

In the end, it isn't going to matter whether a min-ecig, or a hooka is used. It is going to be tough

Since you are buying it for her... I'm guessing you want her to quit the analogs; i'm also guessing she doesn't, or at best is impartial to the idea. I would not call that ideal. I would say don't rush her, don't be disappointed when she slips (and she will slip), and be supportive.

So, here are my questions:

Ego is not automatic, and is big... so doesn't fit your criteria of automatic.
If so, where should I buy an eGo? I want excellent customer service!
Any where you would like. (i might suggest gotvapes, virginvapors, myvaporstore, many others but those i like. Any place in this forums vendor section is going to be okay.)
What options should I get? It needs to be convenient to carry around and use for days at a time.
Mini ego is what i would suggest, with a 510 carto... maybe get a few of them. Or k-go 650mah. Battery life will depend on use.
Can I reload the cartridges?
Yes. Usually.
If so, where can I get high quality vegetable based menthol flavored juice?
Why VG? Is she/you allergic to PG? (straight VG is boring imo) Flavor is 100% going to be up to her.
Where can I get high quality vegetable based menthol flavored cartridges to start with?
Buy cartridges, then fill them your/her self with whatever juice you wish.

***don't be afraid to call and ASK for help/advice etc.
***If you have a local 'good' vapor store; i would recommend getting first setup there.

**** I would really suggest her getting her own and what not. It is a process, there are things that need to be known, research is important.

PS: i'm a noob, and the above is just my opinion.

Go with an eGo kit, I would get 4 batteries, go with the cartomizers. (the battery is really not that big).
If she works a lot on a laptop or computer you can get a passthrough, as long as the laptop is on and the battery is connected, the battery will stay charged.
Cartridges need to be refilled all the time.
Do not buy an automatic battery because the juice will kill the battery.

The Vaporstation has good Mentol tasting juice.
Do not buy 100% VG, because the juice is very thick and it's difficult to fill the cartomizer.
Buy a couple of driptips.

Buy a kit from a supplier listed under the "Forum Suppliers".
You can find them at the top of the page.

Good luck!

As previously posted I believe they stopped making auto eGos PVs. Regular eGo fires at 3.3 volts. Kgo fires at 3.7 volts and is less expensive BUT only comes in manual.
What options should I get? It needs to be convenient to carry around and use for days at a time.
Unless you buy a Tube Mod you're looking at 650 0r 1000 mah batteries- 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before recharge. The only other option to to buy a PV Kit with a Personal Charging Case (PCC) whereby the case, with a large battery in it, holds multiple smaller batteries and charges them while on the go.
Can I reload the cartridges?
Cartridges are from the old school of vaping and are problematic with leakage. Cartomizers are the way to go or cartomizers+ tank or clearomizers.
Delivery Devices
cartomizer/ carto- metal tube with stuffing and element- takes 1 ml-2 ml juice dependent on size bought.

carto+tank- a carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates carto by way of hole in carto- takes 1.5- 5 ml dependent on size bought.

Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. Rebuildables can be bought- when old head burns out simply unscrew old head and screw in new head- takes 10 secs- takes 1.6- 5 ml dependent on size bought.

As for juice the standards within the industry are 70/30 or 80/20 PG/VG.

Overall you may want to consider the Volt PCC- comes with manual or auto batteries BUT with auto batts you must be careful not to get juice into the battery- manuals are less prone to damage from juice. Volt batteries are 808 threading. 510 is the most popular threading.

so I do know what a good nicotine hit feels like. Especially when smoked while drinking excellent scotch with friends and/or family, so I may use it myself from time to time.
The TH and lung hit comes mainly from the level of nicotine in the juice and as long as you have a 1/2 decent PV should be good to go.

If so, where can I get high quality vegetable based menthol flavored juice?

You're best bet is to go with ECF listed vendors.

For hassle free filling and portability I'd go with:

1 Joyetech eGo charger
2 Joyetech eGo-C Twist battery - is good for a day
2 mini Vivi Nova tanks - 1 should be good for a day, maybe cutting it close, 2 just in case.

If you want something that will last for 2 days or so the device will be larger and heavy. I can't help you with juice but hardware wise this is what I use when I'm on the go.
