point being..... almost no company has 100% solid rep. even one of (if not the most) respected company in the biz 'evolv' has had recall issues and duds, and things that don't work properly.

if every time a company has put out a product with a defect we shunned them......then we would have no place to buy from.
Funny you should bring them up. I don't want Brandons garbage, either. ;)

You know what a Big part of the Problem is don't you?

How fast is something popular like an istick (or anything) Cloned?

Does an OEM have the Ability to do thorough Beta Testing? Or Roll Revisions before the Final Release is done on a New Product?

Or does an OEM have to Crank out Units as Fast as Possible and Capture as much of the Market as they can before the See their product turn up on sites like fasttech 2 weeks after Initial Release?

Not defending an OEM who releases something with Problems. Just say'n that I can Understand what happens in a Design/Manufacturing Loop when the Threat of Cloned products is Guaranteed.

Well if this is how a company chooses to release their products than sorry but that is a disaster waiting to happen and people should steer very clear of them.

i wanted it for a carry around, and it works well for me for that purpose. I didn't and don't consider it a long term investment that should last forever. we've seen ONE report of a unit catching fire. I guess I just figure if I bought a flashlight for 50 bucks and it died a few months later, i'd be a little bummed but I'd move on with my life. I don't push my Istick50 to 50 watts very often, don't try to fire super low builds on it, and honestly, don't consider it a very accurate device. That being said, it does its job, so far. If it starts to autofire or give me trouble that I can't fix, as I said, I'll just toss it and move on. It's not a disaster. If these things were exploding left and right, that would be one thing...but we've seen ONE report of a fire.

Wow. Miss the point much ? Being" disposable" is one thing. Auto firing and exploding is another. But if you think it's disposable then you should say that when recommending them. Mine lasted 36 days. Should I have expected that with a product that has a 90 day warranty? Shouldn't I be able to use it for 90 days? Correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't that what warranty means?

Just think of all the people that are new to vaping and looking for their first 'ecig'.

Most people will just google 'best ecig, popular ecig, cheap ecig,' etc etc etc. The istick will always come up.Most of them don't care to read about things or educate themselves on vaping. 40 bucks? Good enough. It has a little screen on it? Awesome. I can turn it up and down? Cool! That's their mindset. Not saying everyone's like that, but the majority, is. Shoot first, ask questions later.

I know when I first started, I did very little research. I just wanted somthing. Anything. I just wish I could of bypassed all the junk that I went through to get where I am today.

The last thing any uneducated person should be using, is a ticking time bomb. You shouldn't recommend somthing to someone, newbie or not, just cause it's only x amount of dollars. If a person is serious about vaping, they'll thank you later.

Not smoking is priceless. Vaping should be, too.

Actually, if you google 'best ecig', the first link is to a "review site" that ranks Vaporfi as the best brand on the market. Other "review sites" name V2 as the best. In fact, for the first two pages of Google search results, the iStick is never mentioned. Only cigalikes, disposables, eGo and evod kits.

Jason, your device still works, right? You choose not to use, but it functions, is that correct?
Yes technically but it fires for ten seconds every time and fires by itself when I'm taking a breath between puffs. Are you honestly gonna tell me that it's my choice to use it like this. Wow. I mean really

Again, MOST people aren't interested, or ultimately don't care enough to read reviews on products. Some do, most don't.

It's like vehicle reviews. People are going to look for a new car. They're not on the Internet checking out all the reviews, recalls, pros, cons, etc. If you check out car reviews, there's a higher percentage of people that will be posting about the negative side of things. Transmission problems, oil leaks, interior flaws and so on.

We live in a world of buy now, talk later. It's human nature.

No, that wasn't where I was going. I was going to ask if you tried to fix it...clean the button with alcohol or anything like that? Does it autofire every time?
I wiped it down externally but that is it because it came with a warranty that said not to do anything other than that or it would void. Seems there's not much to void so far. I mean I may as well not have a warranty apparently

This isn't just "some guy on the internet complaining" level of problem here. It's mods catching on fire, due directly to poor quality control and/or design. Complaints are to be expected. Fires are not. Regulated mods should not catch on fire. I'm happy that there have been few returns at your friend's store, and also happy that yours has been fine. That being said, I don't personally recommend them and will not in the future.

Most things, generally speaking, should not catch on fire. I highly doubt it is the wide spread issue this thread would have me believe.

But it doesn't actually light on fire when this happens, correct?

I believe the button/"autofire" issue to be a correctable one if you can't get the warranty honored.
