I vape EVERYWHERE

I vape everywhere and never think twice about it.

For one thing, I intentionally bought a black mini so it wouldn't look like a cigarette. I hold it by the end so the LED is covered, and I hold in the vapor until it is virtually non-existant.

I've vaped in hospitals, in cabs, on buses, in department stores, in a church. I don't think twice about it. When I tell people what I'm doing and exhale the vapor so they can see how much is put out, they are amazed. They always say they thought I had a pen in my mouth.

I worked at one of the top hospitals in the country and vaped at my desk all the time. Even after everyone knew what I was doing, no one minded. After all, I didn't even exhale vapor, and if I did, there was no odor or carcinogens. One nurse even asked where I got it so she could get one for her mom.

Just be cool about it, and no one ever has to know you're doing it. It doesn't hurt anyone, so there's no reason to feel any more guilty about it than you would about drinking a cup of coffee.

What is most troubling about your post is that you may vape anywhere, but only because you do it in a secretive fashion. This is not how I want vaping to be perceived by the non-smoking public. Sorry if this offends you, but underground, deceptive vaping activity is not really vaping in public, it is hiding your activity from detection.

About a week ago, I met up with my aunt and uncle for dinner and coffee at out local Shari's resturant. I asked the manager if she minded that vaped while I was there. She said to my disbelief; "No, go right ahead! We allow those here..." She smiled and walked away..

The funny part was, I started using it and I caught a waitress doing a "double take" on what I was doing.. She noticed me looking, smiled and continued doing her work..

That's how I wish it was EVERYWHERE!

I look at it this way........When I was using analogs there were times that I have to go several hours without a cig. If I could do that, then I most certainly can refrain from vaping for a period of time where it may not be appropriate or welcome.

I am not saying the OP is wrong, I just get the feeling from the tone of the post that he/she perceives it as their "right" to vape wherever they please. If I am misconstruing this, then I apologize.

Today I walked into the local diner... (Now, I want to stress that they KNOW me there, I eat there often, the waitresses know me by name and by sandwhich) ...with my Ncig for the first time. I was planning this, and I walked in, and took a MASSIVE puff and let it out.... just to see what would happen.

My thoughts on vaping is that you are still expelling nicotine into the air (even if it's a very small amount), and doing so in an area where there's children around isn't really the most considerate thing to do.

carbon dioxide is toxic if it reaches a 1% concentration in the air you are breathing. constantly exhaling it (even in a small amount) in an area where children are present isn't really the most considerate thing to do.

Grow a pair, people! Vape everywhere, and take the time to explain the technology to others. Everyone you meet knows a smoker that could benefit from e-cigarettes, so pay it forward.

Yes, it is a bit of a hassle, but it can help others AND promote your rights in the process.

How did some of you manage to smoke analogs this long while being scared of confrontation?!

I just made the switch from analog to PV a few days ago, and for my part I think operant conditioning plays a huge part in how one approaches revealing new and novel habits in public.

Smokers are being called stupid, lazy, reckless, suicidal, crazy, heartless, dirty, smelly, and pathetic. Since most PV users seem to be former smokers there's going to be a large number of folks that will be duly cautious with their new habit.

I'm definitely more comfortable vaping in front of analog smokers than non-smokers yet I dread militant ex-smokers. I think at this point in the game because vaping is still so new, each one of us should be allowed to find our own comfort zones without taking spit from each other.

Personally, I'll be thrilled when someone asks me why my lit cigarette has a green cherry or "what the heck is that?" (I'm planning on upgrading soon too) because I'm so freakin' excited about it-- but I don't plan on forcing people to like vaping (or like that someone is vaping around them) so I expect to follow many of my own self imposed rules that I once applied to my smoking habit.

I'm on week 3 of no smoking just vaping and the ONLY person to be negative about it was a smoker! I guess since I don't belong to the 'smoker group' of people so I'm now an outcast.

I vape everywhere but just pretend that I'm chewing on a pen when I don't want to go in to a 20 min. explanation on vaping technology. Everyone knows someone who is a smoker and they all want to know more about.

I really vape outside only. If I'm at a bar, I go outside with the other smokers, if I am at home, I do it outside, etc, etc.

I've shown people indoors what it is like. They don't really smell anything except a little of the flavor.

Anyway, I don't take advantage of the indoor smoking for a few reasons. One, being I want this to be a replacement for my tobacco smoking, not a replacement PLUS a new habit~too much of ANYTHING is not good for you. Another reason is although it is likely to be significantly safer than cigs, technically, no studies have confirmed. Never hurts to be safe.

But in the meantime, ecigs are a great replacement!

As far as external exposure (even with the nicotine) it's probably far safer than other vapors that people inhale willingly on a daily basis. I was really shocked that the ingredient list for e-juice is as short and understandable as it is PG or VG, distilled water, optional flavor and optional nicotine. I added a drop of coconut extract to a half exhausted cart last night, and along with the flavor introduced steric acid, PG, and alcohol to the mix (even though it already had PG in it, it was also an ingredient in the extract)

My 12 year old son pointed out that statistically the most dangerous ingredient was the dihydrogen monoxide (yeah, we homeschool) and I'd like to take this moment to say that no one has produced study that proves DHMO is safe either. Worse yet, DHMO is a proven killer and the FDA does nothing about doctors recommending it to their patients to prevent or even cure certain medical conditions. This is clearly because they are in the pocket of big water

It only takes about a minute to take it apart reassemble and demo it. I even did a demo for a female police officer (her first question was can Crack be smokes in it?).

I have vaped openly in the deli and in one resterant.

Here in my home town we have the clean air bylaw, It refers to tabacco, I make sure I inform people of the rights I have and there rights with regards to tabacco smoke.

I was actually going to see if I could find or create a small printed brochure to pass to people as they ask questions.

You can probably print out little business cards on your PC explaining the device. That's what I did when I was passing out cards to give to bar owners prior to the their clean air laws that booted smokers out of the bars and eateries.
The cards had the names of the elected ...... who voted yes on the bill.

The truth is, when I am out and about I don't want to be bothered. I'm not an Amway salesman. I don't want to do a product demonstration for anyone. It is my prerogative to enjoy time out without interruption. It has nothing to do with "growing a pair" I do what I can to support the ecig movement through my elected representatives and through purchasing from those companies that are in a position to take up the fight as well.

I don't have to get in anyone's face to make a point.

It would not surprise me if the action of some who have posted on this thread do as much harm as good to the ecig movement.

Oh thats a big ten 4, Ive had a few people look at me funny when I exhale vapour in a lineup at the deli. I soon become the centre of attention by a few, While I demo the unit.

Im awair of the people in the background looking and still thinking it was a smoke. My thought on that is Im within the law and until Im charged with something I will continue to vape in public. I however dont carry 30ml jugs of juice willy nilly like.
