A mech mod with a full battery at 4.2v, with a build at 1.3ohms, would be roughly equivalent of having your regulated device set at 13 watts... A 1.1 build would be closer to the kind of vape that you're used to, but will get weaker as the battery depletes, so I would say you probably want anywhere between 0.9 and 1.1 when you use a mechanical. Which would be absolutely fine using a 25R.

All you gotta do is adjust your builds, in that way you can still regulate vape and find that sweet spot.

I admit I haven't bought a hybrid top one either yet. If I bought it for a specific atty that would pair well with it, that would be one thing, but its nice for it to work with whatever I put on it.

And as for the 1.3 ohm coil, try it first. For some reason I love my Erlkonigins in that range on mechs, yet I had to go down to 0.7 for my Flash e Vapor and Mini Buddha to get good vapes on mechs. Most of my RTAs vape nicely in the 0.9-1.2 range.

I have been researching. Though I think I want to stay away from a hybrid?

Hybrids are fine.
Avoid confusion-
Stay away from "hybrid top cap" mods unless you really understand what's going on.
Those really aren't hybrids. They just have the look.

True hybrid mechanicals don't have 510 fittings. They do not have the safety issues "hybrid top cap" mods have.

For a mech, i run .6 to .9 depending on the device.

Like said already, tuning the setup will make the vape.
On my dripper i am at .6 and it runs fine until 3.5 volts and quite literally it just drops off. It's like toooo, toooo mm thats good, tooo tooo what hapened lol

Even if you dont buy from them fasttech is a great source for finding one that interests you.they have roughly 1600 to 1800 models to look at depending onstock rotation, And the reviews and discussions will let you know about potential problems with a certain model. For 20-50 bucks you can end up with a killer mod and atty set up from there.

Two of my fav mechs came from there both under 15 bucks ea.
Get something like a brass or stainless nemesis with the infinite kayfun4 and for just under 40 bucks youll have a bad a## setup.

Just beware if you're planning on buying a clone, I would advise against Ebay unless it's a branded clone (Hcigar/Tobeco) so you know exactly what you're getting. Some clones are great and a few even arguably better than the authentic, while others aren't worth their weight in metal. I know from experience. :)[/QUOTE Too late for me I got a nemesis clone off eBay

Eh it could be great, might not be... I bought my first three mechs from Ebay; the first one was GREAT, a solid brass constructed (tubes and contacts) King clone that came with a pouch for $16. I was so happy with it that I took my chances on a black King and a SS Nemesis, wasn't so happy with either of those. The threads on the nemesis were crap (locked up on day 2 and were very thin), the entire thing was very thin and cheap feeling, and the "adjustable" center pin was too short to actually adjust and barely made contact with flat tops -- resulting in having to loosen the already wonky fire button that liked to unthread itself. The black King looks nice but doesn't hit half as hard as it's brass cousin.

But hey if you spent less than $20 then no damage done even if it sucks... You can just flip it, sit on it as a backup and buy another, or upgrade it if the center pin/switch are problematic.

Most or all attys are safe on a nemesis right? Adjustable pin makes that possible? When I get my nemmie clone and wrap a 1 olm coil 18650 good to go on a magma clone? Gonna be my first mech. Can't quite Figure out the calculator not dumb but it appears too much Marley in my younger days makes some things difficult to grasp. Thanks.
