Hi Ameera, Good Luck and stay strong. Like you I tried every way to quit many times (Chantrix made me feel crazier than I normally am). I bought my first e-cig 2 years ago, played with it a bit, then let it collect dust until last week. I picked it back up last Monday and just told myself that I am done with analogs and if necessary I will glue this thing to my mouth. I have not had an analog since then (and didn't even need to glue the ecig)

You can do it!!

I am now on a mad clothes washing rush because everything smells like analogs, ewwwwww.

Good luck to ya, you got this... :) Like you I smoked for a long time (38 years) just remember this, when/if your mind tricks start ("oh it's cool one puff can't hurt me") cheat with your e-cig :) yeah I know it's not cheating cause you use it all the time, but it really did help me to combat those head tricks with that lil trick of my own... ("this is the only puff you get!")

again good luck and welcome :)

Hi Ameera,

Don't underestimate yourself. I have been smoke free 2-1/2 months now and I had NO intentions of quitting!! My husband asked me if I would be willing to try an E-cig and I said sure! In the first week I had them I tried to light up a cigarette twice, took 2 puffs each time and couldn't stand the taste. I have been vaping ever since. I still have a pack and a half of cigarettes sitting in my kitchen drawer and I don't have any desire to light one up.

Good luck to you! :)

Welcome fellow Minnesotan Vapor! Are you really that far up north? There's a rather large group of us MN vapers in the cities... there's a "vape meet" this coming Saturday actually - I haven't been to one yet but it sounds like they all get together at a vape friendly establishment and celebrate the wonderful world of vaping!

I went right off the stinkies when I got my first setup, but everyone is different. The important thing is wanting to do it. My fella for example, THINKS he wants to do it but is really still in love with smoking. I'm sure he'll come around soon... he takes puffs off my vaporizer all the time.

Greetings to all!
I am sitting outside at midnight, during a heatwave, with the laptop so I can smoke.. dealing with sweating, freaking moths and all sorts of bugs flying to the monitor's light.. and wonder .... Why do I do this when so many have obviously been able to do otherwise.. quite wisely! I am a 30 year smoker... always wanted to quit.. tried Chantax, thought I was going to go insane but I didn't want to smoke. HMMM.. thought better of it and bought another pack of smokes. That was 4 years ago and have hated going back ever since, but the thoughts that Chantax had running through my mind were unnerving to say the least. So now I am here.. puffing what I hope to be one the last of the stinkies..... here goes. I will venture to a shop tomorrow (just learned of it today, I live with about 50 miles of elbow room) and see what can get accomplished. Here is to a new life.. I KNOW I need it as do my little girls!!! Anyway.. hello to all of you!:D
Lol, that is awesome, I don't know how many times I sat outside sweating, in a Houston summer, smoking and wondering what the hell i was doing. 28 years, 2 packs a day. I had 3 packs back in may when my ecig came in, i finished those in 3 weeks smoking a few here and there. Havent bought a pack since. If i can do it anyone can, I loved to smoke but found a better, more satisfying experience. Good luck on your journey.

Wow!!! Thanks to everyone for the votes of confidence and the words of inspiration! I am interested in hearing more about the vape meet in Minneapolis. That is only a little over an hour from where I live. With so many people here that have gone the vaping route and never looked back, I do feel like I am "home" or at least in a home where I want to belong. My family has no idea I plan on quitting this week. I figure why get them all worked up if it becomes a huge failure... which I really, really don't want to have happen!! And WHEN I do quit, won't everyone be surprised!! :)

Any words of advice on what type of equipment I should go with first time 'round? Something easy to fill, less likely to leak, small enough to take with me everywhere... you all know what I mean. I will undoubtedly be relying on it quite heavily in the beginning. I had planned on going today, but thought I would ask some of you what you recommend.

Anyway, A HUGE thank you to all who inspire me to fulfill my quest for my very own "I QUIT Banner!!!"

Here is to a new life.. I KNOW I need it as do my little girls!!!

I knew I needed to quit the analogs but just couldn't quite get there...when my little girl told me she didnt want me to die from smoking, it gave me the extra push I needed to do something to stop....kids can be a powerful thing....
