Those of us here that quit long term cigarette smoking by switching to vaping and have been vaping for several years, this question is to y'all. If for some reason vaping suddenly became unavailable, who would be able to not start smoking again? I'd like to think I could pull that off, cigarettes are just too nasty to me now.

I've been vaping and not smoking for near to ten years now. The end of this month will see my 9th milestone being made. In that time, more than 2 1/2 pounds of TAR haven't polluted my lungs, and I wouldn't put another cigarette in my mouth if I could no longer vape. I guess if the nic cravings got too much for me to ignore I would look at Snus or something similar.

I'm sorta at the point where sometimes I Vape and sometimes I kinda just forget to.

I've been thru all the Major Milestones. And at each one I'd do something to Reduce my e-Cigarette use. Like switching to a Lower Nicotine to make my DIY last longer. Switching to Unflavored. Then the Big One, Going to Omg.

At each step I thought it would be Hard. But It really wasn't. Just a Day or Two of feeling a little different. Then it became the New Normal.

So No, I'm Not going to go Back even if Vaping disappeared. I think about it sometimes. But smoking just Isn't something I Need to do. And I know where that road goes. And all the Work I had to do to get Off It.

When I smoked, I was a dual user, cigs and pipe. Still have my briar collection, so that might be where I go. Pipe smokers generally do NOT inhale the smoke, so (maybe?) less harmful...

But, like other long term vapers who took the FuDA seriously, stocked for life, so it's sort of a non-issue for me.

Also stocked for life, so a non-issue here as well.

But, if I wasn't stocked-up I would not go back to cigs, no :censored:ing way. Swedish General Snus (mint) would be a good option, if I felt the need.

These days I can go long stretches without a vape. I never start vaping first thing in the morning, ever. Don't normally start vaping until after 9-10AM. I rarely ever vape in public or in my vehicle. And never when I'm out and about in nature or walking the dogs.

After sex, well :censored:ing hell yes, vapin' flavorless hits the spot just like that after sex cig did once upon a time.

    :censored: going back to smoking!!!

I'm not sure what I'd do if I wasn't stocked up and vaping became impossible. I vape even more than I used to smoke, and I think it would be really hard to just quit. Hopefully I never have to find out.

I know one thing for sure. If I started smoking again, my wife would make me go outside. It's been almost 12 years since our house stunk like cigarettes all the time, and I'm sure she wouldn't let that happen again.

Wish I could say no way. Best I can manage is unlikely. I was diagnosed with early COPD 12 years ago and it hasn't got worse since then. Pretty sure it would start firing up quickly if I went back to smoking, which would be a big incentive.

I have cut down the nic and the daily amount of juice. Never drive without taking a vape along but I often don't pick it up. It's like having it with me is a kind of comfort blanket. That would probably hit me harder than not having the nic.

I'm pretty well stocked too, So for me the question, "What if vaping is no longer available..'" becomes '..because vaping just doesnt exist anymore?' or '..because I ran out of something and cant get it anymore?' :tumble: I certainly am glad that it exists now though!!

I'd like to say I'm stocked for life as well and DIY has got my nic level down to minimal. That said...

    My Pledge:
I'll never smoke again. They can't make me.
I'll never pay another penny of sin tax or contribute to orgs/co's whose very existence depends on me. They can't make me.
I'll quit nicotine first... even if they claim that as a "victory", I win.

Well, I'm 82 now, and still wrap my own coils & DIY my own juice.
Still have 11 bricks of cartos tho'. The way I'm going they should last until I'm about 150 years old. (ya think I might make it that long??)
Figure I'm going to run out of nic somewhere along the line, but I don't care. 0 nic isn't all that bad a vape.

Funny how things don't matter all that much as we "mature".

From 1974 I switched to smoking a pipe from smoking unfiltered cigarettes ... and like every other Brit Pipe Smoker I ever knew, I inhaled the smoke at least some of the time.

I know without a shred of doubt that even considering how expensive tobacco is in the (temp) UK I'd be back to pipe smoking ... and I'm looking towards 8 years smoke free this 17th of October.

Vaping has been a lifeline to this 73 year old!

Lot of guys smoked a pipe back in the 50's, including my dad. He had a rack of 7 pipes, one for each day of the week. The six day rest was supposed to be good for them. When I was 5 he took me out to the garage and I watched him break them all up with a hammer. His doctor told him to get some cigs to help with the withdrawal symptoms, guess that made sense in 55. It worked for him.

I loved the smell of pipe smoke.
