I never even heard of the word "vape" or "vaping" until I found this site on the 'net. I was looking for info on "electronic cigarettes", something ALL newbies call them. Personal Vaporizer meant absolutely nothing to me. "mod", to me, then, was 60's slang for Modern.

Now I know SO much more.

Get rid of the "generic" terms that the non-vaping know, chances are you'll be eliminating a whole lot more newbies coming onboard.

I say we stick with "smoking", "e-cigs", etc., as it may help others to find what we did and now know.

Many times at work I have to use an inaccurate word describing something because I know the listener will understand better. Oh sure, I could use the proper term, but I'll just be greeted with the puppy-tilted-head followed with, "Uh, WHAT ?!?"

Okay, I know after what I said earlier this might sound a bit hypocritical and make people go "huh?", ;) but smoking is where even I draw the line. I don't have all that much of a problem with it when it comes to the boards because I know the history as well as their origination point. However, within the confines of general conversation an e-cigarette is a simulation of a cigarette just like e-mail is a simulation of regular mail, they don't necessarily work the same but they do accomplish the same purpose. I can handle that, no problem. Smoke however is what's emitted from something burning. Nothing burns when I use an e-cigarette, so the only time I smoke nowadays is if I'm on fire. :D
I bet if you put your finger on that hot coil you wont say nothing is burning;-)
