Hey guys, I have a bit of a problem that I was hoping you all could help me with. I have been using my Iatty with a 510-901 and 901-510 adapter, but it stopped working the other day. Thinking it was the Iatty coil, I took it apart and it was fine. I screwed the Iatty onto my GGTS without the CT on and it worked just fine. But when I put the adapters on, it doesn't work! I thought the adapters were bad so I switched to a 510-510 long adapter and the Iatty still will not work with the adapter! I tried my 510-901 adapter with a 901 atty and it works fine. I did notice that the problem with my button heating up is gone, so it must have just been that having the adapters on made it heat up?

I tried searching the forum, but if the question has already been asked and someone has a link to an answer, please let me know and disregard this thread.

Plus one to what Ripple says. I try to get at least 2 of each adapter I use as they will go bad. Some look like a screw on both ends but most are just short plugs connected by a thin wire between both posts.

Just guessing here but it sounds like maybe an adapter is shorting out on you since the GGTS and iAtty are working fine on their own. I would try what has already been suggested and see if each adapter can be used individually.

I have had this same problem a couple of times. In my case the adapters weren't faulty per say. They just weren't 'flexible' enough to make good contact. I noticed that the iatty doesn't 'bottom-out' in the adapters so the ggts' center pin had to push the adapter center pins up to meet the iattys center pin. I have numerous adapters that due to design won't allow this to happen or there center pin gets pushed up out of the isolator risking shorts. Try some different adapters from different suppliers and you'll find one/some that work.

The two things that cause adapters to not work:
center post not making contact
torn gasket (direct short)

Get the adapters with the slot on the center post and then, using a screwdriver, adjust the length of the center post until you have good contact

Check with Bruce at COV.....If Imeo's vendors have it, I buy from them first

Thanks for the help guys. I tried using the adapters with just a 510 E2 clear cartomizer and it worked just fine. I tested all of the adapters and they work. It is just the Iatty, so I think the Iatty is not making contact, like was previously mentioned. I might just have to get some new adapters or learn how to adjust my current ones, like Para explains. Sorry for the late reply, my internet got knocked out >.<

Check the center connection post of the Iatty. When you tighten down the bottom plastic piece that has the center connection post, make sure it's fully screwed in so the center connection post extends past the 510 threads of the base. Look at it from the side...should extend just past the threads.

That was the problem! Thanks Para!!! To think, I thought the adapters were shot. All I had to do was screw the plastic down a bit!!! Thank you!
