lmao i drive according to the conditions, i don't give a damn if the guy behind me thinks we should go the speed limit, if i feel the roads are too bad... i learned to drive in the rockies, lol 4x4 means i can drive over the fallen trees and stuff from the ice buildup... which i have done before hehehehe.

Yea we get idiots who think 4x4 means speed faster... Last i checked steering and braking is the same on every vehicle (except those with independent rear steering, but even then cant engage that at speed) I am like you i dont care who is behind me. I drive front wheel drives because they handle better than rear wheel i drive the speed limit of the conditions which is usually much slower, and have only ever gotten stuck once in snow because it was 2f high and the snow had frozen at about 1foot high and become hardend like ice and i got high centered on it was not fun. Every other time i was able to rock out of with my good ol front wheel drive changing gear to 2nd or even 3rd can help too. I love the snow and weather, just the people i dont much care for when they are not respectful of the conditions they are driving in.

Just one week ago we were ice bound from a storm, here in the south. It was nice walking in the city without any cars around. Took three days before the roads were drive able again. We had plenty of booze and food on hand, and I always have about a weeks worth of batteries charged. It was a great time...

Well, I started this thread because the weather people were using terms like, crippling, catostropic, we're all going to die...you know, the normal hype. But, it never happened. Just very cold rain.

Now I have to vape all of those batteries down to 70% or so and put them back into storage.

heh hubby just called, as long as they pass the compression test, we have just bought a pair of ski-doos woot! of course i have to go out today and do a few things before the freezing rain/ice hits so he can have the ram back, i'd rather him be driving a 4x4 bigger truck over mine with 4WD for the worst weather. besides, there's no logo on my back window... hehehehehehe.

The only time the need for snowmobiles on streets around here was when the blizzzzard of 1977 had hit and man that was a dooozy of a storm that went on and on from what I remember.
Nowadays the wife and I get around with paratransit,if they're not out and running neither are we. :)
