I had an idea, not sure if anyone else thought of this also. An e cig that contains a small inner compartment for filling with liquid, it would have a manual switch battery and when you push down on the switch a fine mist of juice would spray into the atomizing chamber, similar to a fuel injection system on a car (if you know how that works.) It would only spray once every 5 or so hits to avoid flooding the atomizer. This would eliminate the need for dripping, changing carts, carrying liquids around in seperate bottles, and leaky connections between the mouthpiece. Of course it would have to be fine tuned and tested with hardcore vapers like us. The inner vile or compartment for the juice could just be interchangeable like a cartridge as well, just pop a different vile into it for a different flavor. Seems like a good idea to me...any thoughts?

I have an idea for a modder and curious if it will work.

I am a hairstylist and I also have an I-Inhale. The I-Inhale uses butane to heat, but it's messy and sometimes difficult to do.

I have used these Braun Cordless Styler - Butane Curling Iron, C21 and can't help but think it's possible to make an e-cig mod from. They have the butane cartridges that just pop in and heat up quickly.

Ideas and opinions welcome and appreciated.

Moonman-I knew someone would do it! good job. If that can be done with like an 801,901,510, and others that are easily portable it would be a new step in this technology. You should send that idea out and def patent it.

It's easy enough to make, the only parts that aren't readily available are all the different atomizer connectors. I used the connector from Radio Shack that fits the 901, but the others are less simple AFAIK.

That is a nice smug one liner.

Which one did you do? The "fuel injector" type or the capillary one?

I didn't see either of those options on the UPAC.

Technically it would be the "fuel injector", same basic concept. Actually a little of both if you include the wicking of the cart filler. Does it really make a difference HOW the juice gets there as long as it does convieniently?

I'm only letting people know it's within their power to do it, no need to get pointlessly snippy.

How about a mod with an I.V. drip ?? Just kidding.

Someone mentioned in a post I read on this forum that he had done this. He called it the FANG. Had pics of it and everything - looked absolutely awesome. And it worked!

ah yes. here's a preview of V2.0...

Very nice! Any plans to adapt it to a non-standard e-cig (flashlight or box mods)?

ultimately i want to combine it with my SideWinder concept and make a King Cobra.... with venom ;)
when i was prototyping the Fang, i did have a crude version mated to my existing SW and it worked satisfactually but was a bit unsightly. looked like a robot wearing a urine collector.:nah:

I've really admired both versions you have made. Are you planning to make these for resale?

OK...I am sure this has been suggested but....why not make a system where the actual bottle is not on the ecig. What is the major pain in the ... is popping the cart off and on and off and on. Why not make system where you can drip into the cart material without having to do that. You can carry the eliquid with you in your pocket and when you need to top off take it out and insert it into a special one way valve and drip the liquid into the cart.

a couple things come to my mind ~ as matters of preference i prefer to drip over using carts. to me the taste is fresher, the hit is cleaner, i don't get (as many) leaks or suck liquid as much and i don't like to having to deal with multiple carts when changing flavors. second, i really don't want to be bothered with having to fool around with any device more than is necessary to make it function the way i want. please understand, this is just my take on it, but if i did use carts (and i did at first), why bother plugging a liquid refill bottle into my cart when i could just as easily change prefilled carts? still the same amount of effort if not less, and the end result is the same, is it not?
my very first proto for the Fang used a 901 cart that did indeed "refresh" cart material (actually, you had the option of either dripping or using the filler), but after i used it for a bit i thought "why? why bother with this fluff at all? it's intended purpose is to act as a wick for a reservoir. i've made my own reservoir, and i don't need a wick" the only advantage i can honestly find with using cart filler is that you can vape for a longer period while holding a PV in a horizontal position. i guess if it were impractical to momentarilty tilt the PV vertically then yes, cart filler would be the way to go. if someone could make a cart that held 1ml or more, AND have the liquid efficiently delivered to the atomizer so that half of it was not left in the cart while the filler melted and your atomizer burns out as you suck bubbles through a straw, then i guess i might rethink carts. some people prefer them. to each their own. live and let live. it's all good. yadayadayada.;)
