idea for Membership

I love how ECF is evolving and it is really looking good with all the efforts everyone is putting in, but i was sitting here thinking about membership....

I was wondering if you will ever offer membership on a per month basis? I mean don't get me wrong the annual fee is at a killer price, but by offering a monthly format maybe it would entice many others to get it?

Another idea is; maybe have it set up that after say one year and lets say three thousand points people could also get access to the membership area (minus the perks like bigger avatar, giff signatures etc)

Are you referring to "supporting membership"? It doesn't cost anything to become a member of ECF. As for supporting membership being on a month to month basis...I would like to see that also but it would still be auto-pay and you would have to stop the auto-pay yourself if you decide you want out. For those that join ECF and pay for supporting membership for 1 yr then decide to move on after a month or so or get banned, this would be good for them.

I don't think this will be done as there are too many issues and not enough benefits.

The main point of it is to help ECF and yourself at the same time by paying a sub and getting some perks. To fix this for one month would cost us more than the benefit. Everything here needs to take account of the fact that we need a lot of staff to run things but our income is only a fraction of what any other business with 20+ staff would be. Staffers work very hard to support the community here, for little or no return, and one of our main tasks needs to be to try and reduce their workload, not increase it.
