Okay, I can dig that. So let's change the language around to say that the FDA will not ban E-cigs but will just launch a smear campaign to discourage their use. Insidious? Yes. But it won't keep me from purchasing e-cigarette products. When the word ban is used, I'm thinking of congress passing actual laws.

I will never go back to analogs. It's easier to say that and mean it if you've seen firsthand what damage they can and will do to you. vaping is satisfying, tastes and smells better, and has just too many advantages over smoking. I always considered smoking a bad habit that was impossible to break. I really hated it, but loved it at the same time. The PV has freed me from that confusion.

I don't worry much about a ban. I'm all stocked up and everything's hidden along with my guns where they can't be found. :D

America is free to people with money... I welcome the ban, and hope and pray for revolution, I already make most my money off the black market... Just more money to be made once banned. Bottles that went for 7 bucks now go for 20... still as easily made. I grow my own tobacco, and make my own juice. F*&K the FDA, They cant do ****... but empower the take over... Buy your guns now... The revolution happens soon. Yes I may be an extremist, but when the second civil war breaks out, dont come to me for your juice =P because all i will say is I told you so!

At this time yes I would go back to smoking.

Its my understanding that the ban effects sellers and business who the FDA thinks may be cheating, or endangering customers. As I understand it, these businesses are already subject to "enforcement" of existing FDA rules.

If the FDA wins out, I'd think the American suppliers would all go out of business in time. Makers will probably play cat and mouse with customs and continue to ship products to buyers.

I would also expect silly loopholes and nonsense about what is and isn't allowed for sale. I've seen paper weights that look exactly like brass knuckles plenty of times. :D Quick someone think of an alternative use for atomizers which doesn't involve food or drugs (nicotine).

In another few years we'll probably have a big name high quality device that takes FDA approved cartridges. Just like the gum they'll be too expensive to be useful and the FDA will insist they come in only cigarette flavors.

Nope, never will. Tropical Bob turned me on to Snus, which I ended up liking better than vaping. I still vape some, mostly while I'm on the computer, but the Snus take care of the nicotine habit.

Analogs are history in my life. Thank God!

Pavon, I want to know what snus is too. I think I'll ask on the Forum.

I'd like to know specifically what part of vaping the FDA could call dangerous, especially after having already approved of the use of nicotine. Is it healthier to inhale smog than nicotine, PG, VG, distilled water, or herbs? If inhaling smog is banned, millions would have to abandon entire cities.

If you look at things 'logically', I think you have to conclude that a ban can be considered likely only because the pharmaceutical and tobacco industries would stand to potentially lose so much money in the competition. Competition indeed! I'm simply amazed at how 'easy' it was for me to quit smoking the day I was introduced to the PV. As a diehard committed smoker, since I did it, I know now that ANYONE can. That's got to be terribly threatening to those industries, not to mention the government, which profits (saves money) from large numbers of people dying every year.

For those of you afraid of a ban, get a PV that uses common batteries and just stock up on atomizers.... If you don't use nicotine you can make your own juice very easily. If you do use it, you'll have to find a way to get some, which may not be too difficult, who knows. It might be a good idea to try to wean yourself off nicotine now.

I'm stocking up on PV stuff now, because I don't even want the slightest temptation to go back to analogs, and see the FDA win their battle against me.

Snusim sorry im new to this and tried to find out what Snus was on the search, but nothing showed...what does that mean? im only 3 weeks into vaping sorry im a newbie!

snus is another form of tobacco that's been around quite awhile. -- you can do a wikipedia find on it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snus

But it is now of interest to us vapers (sort of) because of interest in how it might be a fallback if the FDA bans the PV juices.

TropicalBob is an old crotchety member here on ECF. He's quite a character. My guess is a sizable group of members kinda' like him... despite his warm and charming demeanor :pervy:
(( hmm...actually Bob's a pretty cool guy..... [[... i must be think'n bout BigJimW...]] ))

anyway... he's been blazing yet another survival path for us poor lambs to follow should the FDA help us out with their impeccable social protective duty & conscience.

you can check out Bob's work here:

As much as I wouldn't want to, I'd probably go back to smoking. I've only been vaping for less than two weeks and don't want a cigarette for the first time since I started. It would be a real shame if there were a ban, because I don't know how to do mods or make my own juice! Where do I find out?

Check out the modders forum in here. There is also a DYS e-liquid section where our chemists have been at work. Or.....You could get to know some of us in here into that stuff, because ban or no ban, most of us aint goin anywhere....;)

No way in hell. For years I've wished I could just get off the analogues, and have tried several different methods to quit before finally accepting the fact it is not to be. Then I get an e-cig, then 3, and within days (and without it even having been my intention) I'm completely off analogues, to the point I can't even handle one hit, then have to run for the mouthwash and soap! E-cigs are a blessing to me, and even if I no longer had them, I wouldn't return to the hell of smoking again. Ever.

Not just no, but Hell ******* NO! Officially a month off of analog today, and that's more than enough to show me that I'll never go back. I work in a tobacco store, and every time a customer comes in, I'm made painfully aware of just what I used to smell like. I will never go back. I'll go black market if I need to, but I'm never going back to analog. Not a chance in hell.

I'm never going back to those filthy things again. I smoked my second to last analog while walking to the mailbox to pick up my 510. I smoked my very last one a couple of weeks ago out of curiosity, and then had to brush my teeth several times to get the nasty taste out of my mouth.
I'd rather smuggle in supplies from overseas or buy from the black market than go back to smoking tobacco. Heck, I may even go back to school and finish up my degree in chemistry, just so I can learn the proper method of extracting nicotine from tobacco plants!

Thank you! Never going back. If that means I become a criminal in the new world, so be it. I'm done with tobacco, forever. At this point, anybody who tells me I can't have my vape is not a friend by any stretch.

If nothing else, I'll fight for this! :-x
