If you could do it all over again from the beginning, what gear would you want? What gear would you avoid?

Knowing what you know now, and if you could do it all over again from the beginning, what gear (power source and vapor delivery device) would you be interested in getting? What would you avoid wasting time, money and effort on?

Here are the ones I would be interested in, in no particular order:
1. Reo Grand and RM2
2. Provari and IBTanked cartotank
3. Mech and kayfun-type RTA (3.1, KFL+, Russians or good-quality clone equivalents)

These are the ones I would avoid:
1. cigalikes. All of them.
2. Clearomizers. All of them.

Honestly, I wish I'd had the money for a Provari straight out. Yeah, yeah, I don't even have one, I am a Reonaut through and through, but hear me out.

I have untold dollars thrown at ego batteries, 13 unused clearos/plastic tanks, 2 of my 3 MVP2's are collecting dust, and my mech tube/RDA setup is meh (IMO--Reo does it better). All that money spent would have easily paid for the Provari (which will be coming to me as soon as I order it, YAY!) long ago. I want one of both of cult-following devices. People love them for a reason. Already have the Reo (plus one more in the future), the Provari will assuredly fulfill my VV needs/wants flawlessly.

So, I guess my vote goes to #1 and #2. Yes, I have no self control with regard to vape gear, and I will outspokenly enable others :toast:.

:thumb:

  • ProVari with Ikenvape cartos in IBTanked cartotanks - best setup I've used yet; reliable, consistant, easy

  • MVP - good all-around inexpensive regulated mod for the money; too bad it's gonna die one day & can't be salvaged

  • Smoktech Gripper - great little stealth mod for only $10

  • AW IMR batteries

  • Slap Yo Moma tank accessory tool - indispensable; will never be without one for my cartotanks

  • Swiss Gear mini-laptop shoulder bag for all of my vape gear

:nah:

  • Cigalikes - waste of time & money

  • Nearly all of the Chinese-manufactured regulated mods I've owned or tried; exception being the MVP

  • Nearly all clearomizers; exception being the iClear 30 which has been discontinued

  • Rebuildable Atomizers - not my cup of tea; time-consuming and fiddly; I may revisit these again one day.

  • Trustfire protected ICR batteries (you can include all protected ICR batteries here)

I wouldn't change anything I've used because they were all great stepping stones for quitting smoking and learning more about what I'm doing.

- Regulated Egos
- Spinners
- Provari
- Reo grand

All of these were spread over the course of a year, but my search is now over because It's Reos from here on out for this guy.

I skipped from an eGo to a Provari. If I was going to do it again, I would go straight for the Provari with an eBaron Dripper Pro and... hmm. I can't decide on a tank still because I just love my dripper so much. Probably the Nautilus Aspire or the AGA-T2. Those are the ones I reach for if I have to use a tank.

My choice;

1. Beyond Vape Spire 15W VV/VW
2. iClear30B & iClear 30S
2. Aspire Nautilus

KangerTech PT2 and PT3 are oldschool gurglers and leakers that don't give me the smooth vape the iClears offer. I like my iTaste 134 and eVic but they are somewhat redundant as I like the power and form factor of the Spire.

Mind you I've got a Kracken and parts on the way to do my first build, which will be ceramic. Looking forward to the experience. So this list might change on the tank side.

EDIT: Damn, just took a hit with chocolate mint @ 6mg on the PT3 with the eVic and now I like the eVic again. I'm conflicted. Is it okay to like more than one APV? LOL ;)

Wish I had just got a Reo right away and also love my Provari for testing all my DIY mixes.Need that VV to be able to test flavors at different voltages .

If I could I would have myself a nice Reo woodvil 18490 which if Im lucky might happen soon :)

So as many Reos as I can get my hands on and couple of Provaris and I would have been set then and now.

If I had it over again I would have started with the ego twist (just to get used to the vaping and VV idea), skipped past the evic and carto tanks (maybe gotten a vamo and RBA instead because it's cheaper), then moved straight to a Reo Grand.

I love the bottom fed mods now, and can't EVER see going back (and I WON'T). The only time I use my vamo (poor vamo), is just to try new juices at b&m's in case they try to seep into my Reo bottle.

I only have an MVP, a knock off half dead ego and a twist, so I'm quite the novice. Ego got me started, Twist got me interested, MVP is teaching me about things I never dreamed I'd be into. So I guess I'm quite ok with the way it's gone for equipment so far.

What I'd avoid would be the countless crappy juices and any plastic clearo. I'm really happy with Pyrex. MOST happy with rebuilding Kanger coil heads for the time being.

My experience has been my best teacher. ECF has been my tutor. And Matt at the vape shop, lol.

If I had to do it all over again the only battery devices I would have bought would be.

Provari's for most usage.
V4L Titian Automatics for hands free operation.
V4L DAV for some pocket carry and a bit larger hands free device.

I have not tried RBA's yet. I might had tried them by now if I didn't go through all the stuff I didn't like and am still not sure if I want to fiddle with them. Maybe I would love them. Don't know yet.

Everything would be carto driven unless I find I like RBA's. Would still have cartos and carto tanks.

Id skip the overpriced kr808a I started with and go straight for a Provari.

Id also skip buying an IBTanked pyrex tank and get a Phiniac instead.

It cost a bit more but is thicker glass and much more durable in the long run.

I have two Phiniacs that have lasted 15 months now with heavy use and being knocked off my desk onto wood floors countless times. Both of the IBTanks I had cracked within two months time from taking the dime thin metal caps off to refill.

I would have gone right to my mechanicals. I love my REOs, and my poldiac and my precise. I would have skipped over the protanks and the clearos, and gone right to drippers. I'm not a Genny fan but I love rda's and I would have sourced higher end gear to start with because with the amount I have spent, i could have easily had my billet box, poldiac, and the caravela I want. Got one of the three on the way, but it would have saved me tons of money.
