Born and raised in Montreal (live in Connecticut now), would love to move back to Montreal. Worth it for the food alone. Also lived in Vancouver, B.C. for 2 years and would move back there in a heartbeat. Loved everything about it, the people, the food, the beauty, easy winters...the list could go on.

I'm so boring. I'm absolutely content right where I am, in far northern California (close to Mt. Lassen). Long hot summers with no rain for six months. Winters that are cold but not bitterly so, with snow. Snow-capped mountains encircle the town and it's been rated among the best place to live for fly fishermen due to abundant whitewater and trout streams. I knew when I first set foot here I'd found home.

I would stay right where I am and retire:laugh: I'm in the panhandle of Florida. I get a cool winter and not sooo blistering hot summer;) I live on 1 acre in the middle of the woods. Secluded, quiet, I can watch all the animals play:D
RIMP:evil:

Rimp-I used to live right down the road in Greenwood-close to Two Egg.
Loved that place, so nice and quiet.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
I have lived all over the world, and even in "paradise"-North Shore, Princeville, Kaua'i, Hawaii.
I always come back to Texas, when I leave I am homesick for Texas and everything Texas.
The folks are the number one reason-friendly. State pride. No state income tax. Stable economy. Great football. Great food-bbq, tex mex. Geographically diverse. Low cost of living. Decent salaries. Patriotic. Conservative Republican. Texas tough.
Lots of wide open spaces.
Cant imagine ever making the mistake of moving again. However, if I won the lottery, I would have a "second home" on Kauai. fo' sure.

Anywhere in the UK, Ireland, Scotland, England. Don't care which or Oak Harbor, Washington. The colder the better. At least in the Cold you can add stuff on to keep warm. In the Heat, no matter how much you take off it's still hot.

BTW, Wonderwoman, McGill University in the Spring is just as beautiful as in the winter.

Yup, McGill definitely has a beautiful campus. Most of my fav places in Montreal were always down in Old Montreal. Was back for a long weekend in July, such a beautiful city, just walking around was such a treat. I miss being there.

Very interesting responses. I thought people would start throwing stuff at me. I run into a lot of heat/sun worshipers who think I'm nuts. But It looks like there are quite a few cold weather fans here as well. I could probably do Northern California. Looks really beautiful.

I have been to Austin Texas and it was absolutely wonderful while I was there (but I went in March - once the mercury starts to rise, I wouldn't be able to handle it.) I can't handle it much when it starts to get into the 80s. I have trouble breathing (even before I started smoking.) People have mentioned a lot of beautiful places. The hot ones I would love to visit or vacation in, but I couldn't call them home. As far as Canada, Norway or Iceland are concerned, I would love to visit them as well, but I couldn't live anywhere except the US. This is my home and always will be. That's why I picked Alaska. Far enough away for the cool weather, but still home. I've never been to Alaska, but I plan on taking a trip to check it out in a few years. I don't plan to move until I have a job secured. I know of people who have moved places without first having a job and they've gotten into a BIG MESS.

I found this picture online. It's my favorite picture of Juneau. I LOVE the rain! I know... I'm weird.

I've been to Alaska 4 times on lay-overs. Granted, can't tell much from the airport lobby. but, it reminded me of Michigan in the winter. Had to walk from the plane to the building. Wasn't as cold as I thought it's be. The cost of living though! A plain hotdog was $5.00! That was in '81 and '82. I really hope that was just airport prices.

Oooh you wouldn't want to come here to England its humid!! Its often wall to wall depressing cloud and that cloud just sits there being extremely dull. Rarely is it sunny all day!!! It doesn't rain where I am as much as people think it would in England unless its a flood!

I've moved around the world quite a lot. Last time I visited Izu peninsula, Japan I had a thought moving there some day. I used to live there for some time in 90th. Nature is fantastic, people are the nicest in Japan :) But there's no jobs there... Other dream places include Thunder Bay on the lake Superior and New Zealand but I've never been there, have to go and see.
