I'm really considering moving there. I would possibly have a job in Silicon Valley, so that is my real motivator.
The only unmotivator is the cost of living. I did this cost of living calculator thing, and it's on average $1-2 more expensive than living in Pittsburgh, but housing is like doubled. I was looking on craigslist and it's like $700 to rent 1 bedroom in someone else's house.
But I'm kind of at a cross roads here. I'm 20, my friends are moving/gone, I'm done with college, sick of this area, sick of the music scene (I'm a musician), I just want to be happy, and in an awesome environment. If conformity was a country, then Pittsburgh's the capital.
Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar state of mind, or has experience with the Bay area. Any tips or advice is much obliged.
