Malibu looked nice when I rode up the Pacific Coast highway, but way too expensive.

My ideal location would be winters in the 30-40 degree range and no hotter than 85 in the summer. Georgia is nice in the winter but scorching in the summer. The last three weeks have been temps in the 95 to 101 range and heat indexes of 102 to 105 with humidity in the 80s to 90s.

Its the time of year we refer to as "Dog Days". Yard work gets done on Saturday morning before 10 am.

Cumberland Island. It is an amazing, undeveloped place where the water at the beach is so clear you could read fine print through it. We went camping there last month. The only people allowed to live there are people whose family has owned land there, and only a limited amount of people are allowed to visit at one time. There are wild horses everywhere, and deer, and armadillos. I am a tiny bit jealous of the people who get to live there.

I thought seriously about Idaho. Specifically Wallace Idaho. If you've seen the movie Dante's Peak, you've seen the town.

I could never live in Mexico. I'd love to visit especially to see some of the ruins, but the heat would be too much for me.

Baja is nice and cool year round, as long as you are near the ocean. An baja is gorgeous. But again, US citizens are not allowed to own land(unless that has been changed).

Then I reiterate, Hawaiis big island and has nice temps year round, and snow in the winter. That island has between 7-10 of the earths 14 climate zones. Can't beat that anywhere.

Yes I can. Hawaii's population is 1,295,178 and a total land area of 6,423 sq miles. Alaska's population is 698,473 with a total land area of 586,412 sq miles. Sorry, AK wins in my book. But that's just me. When I move to AK I will probably vacation in Hawaii. What a beautiful island chain.

Most of the population is on Oahu. In fact, there are far more people on Oahu then all the other islands put together. Poulation density is very low on the big island. For now anyway.

Southwest New Mexico. Mild year-round temperatures, friendly people, mountains, hills and desert country. Its not crowded with people, lots of history and beautiful scenery everywhere you go.

In the winter you can go up in the mountains and play in the snow in your snowsuit, then go down to a town at about 5,500 feet and wear a sweater and slacks, then go down to the desert floor in a T shirt and shorts ... all in one day!

In the summer, they have a dry heat that is easy to take, spring and fall can be a bit windy and winters are mild. Clean, clear air and you can see more stars at night than you ever realized there were.

The State has a great variety of wildlife, culture, arts, fine educational facilities and great places to dine - both home-style and fancy. Friendly, proud Americans with varied cultures.

Scenic vistas, ghost towns, pan or metal detect for gold, hunt semi-precious stones, hunt for treasure or visit ancient Indian sites.

It was "home" when I was young and I miss it.

Have you at least gotten to go back for a visit?

Not my type of climate at all. But it's great that you like it. I mean, if we all liked the same places, they would get awful crowded! :p

That's true. So, with that in mind, let me just say that the Pacific Northwest is HORRIBLE! Everybody, stay away from Oregon and Washington State! Booo Hisss, it's awful out there!
:p
