All i have left is 3mm silica wick and 28g kathal a-1 left. Before I use my last 6-7 inches of wick and wire, is there any tips yall know about using a wire this thick? I tried wrapping 3-4 coils earlier and it came out to 1.3ohms.
Then, it kept on switching to 2.4ohms to 1.8ohms and as i fired it. The battery and rda starting getting really hot so i stopped. Hopefully, someone on here can give me advice? any suggestions would be apprectiated
I also have kanthal ribbon wire btw, but havnt tried it yet.

aiming for a certain ohms depends on how thick you diameter of wick is too... longer wire length = higher ohms... don't be afraid of 28g if you have a mech device... 3/4 wrap should get you aprox... .8 or .9 ohms
3mm is a little thick so if you do double it make it tight; wrap the wire tight and not touching each other. I wouldn't let the coil touch the base...
Just take your time; these set up pretty easily imo.
make sure the ends are clipped short and not touching any of the top cap or any metal.

I ended up using my ribbon wire instead of the 28g. The mech mod im using is a k100 but check for resistance on a svd and vamo. both came out to 1.3 ohms. it worked like a champ for the first 3-4 minutes. after that all i tasted was burnt wire of something. tried to fiddle with it. tried letting it settle for 10 minutes and the same problem.

I have some left over wicks from previous tries, i think im gonna give it another shot but on the smoktech rda instead. and imma try my 28g too.

I got a good vape from this. ribbon wire and 3mm silica but it just tasted bad after about 5-6 puffs. idk what the problem was? Someone told me use cotton wicks but i dont know where to get that from?

Burnt after 5-6 puffs? Maybe you're running it dry quicker than you think. Resaturate after the 3rd puff and see how it goes.

I know this is bootleg, but. I use a metal coat hanger piece to wrap the coil around, and then place it in the igo. If you actually wrap the wire fully around the post and then tighten the screws, it seems less likely to have a short and cause the wandering ohms. You can take a piece of your wire and make a hook out of it, and thread the wick through the coil after it is installed and tested.

Also if it is tasting bad after a few hits, then your wire may be too tight on the wick, and choking it (and you).

oh i thought you have to wrap it tight? and i threw it out earlier today. That certain taste metal-ish and wick made me gag.
