So I just went ahead and wrapped a 0.7 ohm coil and hybrid (SS and cheesecloth) wick with my Igo L, and HOLY WOW does this thing rip tough! I had been wrapping very consistent 1.0 ohm coils before this, and decided to knock a loop off (4 down to 3) and I'm amazed at what this little thing puts out! It's almost too much (yeah right :) )

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go sit on the porch in the sun and try to make a beautiful clear day into a cloudy one... singlehandedly!

Yes you could, might take some tweaking. Looks like it has NR wire attached and a bit of a lead before the coil. You may want to cut those beads off and unwrap just enough wire to attach it to the IGO-L posts. Might not have to unwrap any.

That being said, I picked up 100ft of kanthal A1 wire for $5. Need to find bulk silica but I have a local supplier for $1 per ft in the mean time.

well my Gus's and Paps MODs all have an adjustable center pin so it sits perfectly flush (not even the slightest gap), i just want to avoid the 510 connection...so that wouldn't exactly work, unless they basically machined an entirely new base/post assembly that the top cap from the IGO L could just fit on, which seems like it would be more hassle than it's worth, I will probably have better luck just bugging china to do it lol

Where do you get your silica from? I was just wondering the other day if I could get it local, but didn't know where to start looking.

How can this look so simple and sound so complicated? I got the Lgo because I wanted to drip with the simplest, longest lasting thing available. I watched a video on wrapping the wire 4 times around a doubled wicked, attach, done. Now the more I read the more I realize I don't understand a single thing about any of this! lol
32 kanthal wire, then I read 30 is better, then 28, more coils, less coils. Silica wick is standard, silica gets microscopic pieces of silica in your lungs, bamboo wick is better, cotton wick is safer.....
Is it as simple as I first thought or as complicated as it sounds the more I read?

100ft . 3mm silica for 35.00 at thehouseofvapor. You can buy any increment you want. .35 $ per ft.

Edit:
$.15 per ft 0.6mm, and 0.8mm
$.20 per ft 1mm
$.25 per ft 2mm
$.35 per ft 3mm

Bulk Silica Wick

I ordered 20' of 3mm from them about a month ago and they sent me 2mm. Got it all sorted out and they ended up sending me 20' of 3mm and told me to keep the 2mm as well. turned out their spool of 2mm was mislabeled.

Both. Easy to learn hard to master. It's a good thing though, start with a simple set-up and if there's things you want to change about the experience you can look into it. It's mainly how well you set-up your coil, the rest with different gauges and materials is more about tweeking it to get exactly what works for you.
