Hey folks, bein a newbie I have to post here. So ive been workin with this igo-w for a few weeks now and cannot get it to hit right. Ive tried single coil and dual, both are in the 1.9-2.4 ohm setups ive been working with but everytime I pull on it the flavor is horrible and the hit is so hard I have to stop vapin for about 20 minutes. All te b&m shops around here carry 80/20 juice, i've tried 18mg nicotine mixes all the way down to 6 and its hitting super harsh either way. i am wrapping using a 1/16 drill bit, I even tried a 1/8 to get more room with a double silica wick to have a little more room. i've tried a regular spaced out coil and micro coils and it all feels the same...harsh. Nothing is working. Any tips/tricks would be great! Airholes are lined up, coils glow from the inside out evenly, no hot legs or anything.

with cotton make a micro coil. and then take a piece of cotton off and twist it into a wick and thread it though your micro coil. you dont want it too be to tight or too loose. just right. that is one of the easiest builds and has one of the best flavors. good luck and keep trying. you will get it eventually

you are going to have to drill your air hole bigger, I would start at 1.3mm, if it still feels hot, burning go to 1.5. It will get a little airier, but not bad,, actually helps the cloud building...
if you use only 1 coil stop up the other hole, just line up the 1 hole right in front of the coil.
That should def. help....

I got my IGO-W a couple days ago, and just tried building it last night. I got it working single coiled at .88 ohm, 28 g kanthal and 2mm sliica, and the flavor was very good. Tried dual coiling it this morning, ended up with .42 ohm and a very hot vape. Not what I wanted. Next I'll try 32 kanthal and see how that works. I just love fiddling with new stuff :)

Really really need to drill out those air holes.... what were they thinking?

Sorry, thats probably important lol. Mvp v2, started at 3.3v and ran through to 3.7v, flavor is just terrible and like I said, the TH makes me have to stop vaping for a little bit to let my throat and lungs chill out lol.

did you ever get this figured out?
anyway, i replied earlier but really didnt answer your question about suggestions. well, on my igo-w im running a dual coil setup with twisted 28g kanthal. thats a whole nother ball game tho. anyway, to wrap my coils, i use the small screwdriver that came with the igo-w and do about a 4/5 microcoil wrap. of course, with twisted kanthal, it cuts your resistance in half, so i wouldnt recommend if youre using a vv/vw device.

i would try using maybe 30g kanthal and using around a 3/32 drill bit try to do maybe 6 or 7 wraps all close together and use cotton and thread it through. make sure your cotton is very saturated and do NOT dry burn cotton. also, make sure youre not choking your coils by putting too much cotton in them. make sure theyre touching the coils, but not being squeezed. when you saturate cotton, it will expand a little as well.

hopefully i explained thoroughly enough to get you going.

just realize you said your reduced your nic to 6 and still harsh. well, im sorry if im asking a question that was already answered, but what gauge wire are you using? and at how many wraps? what diameter are your wraps? also, do you have an ohm meter?

Imperial could be right. i forgot to mention i drilled my airholes out with a 1/16 airhole at first but running dual coils at around .25 ohms was too warm of a vape. so i tried 5/64 and its ok...might be going to 3/32 depending on my next build. my igo-L is drilled out to 3/32 and i have a .45 ohm coil on there with no heat issues. still great flavor. so maybe do some research on what others have their airhole size at and try them out. common sense, but figured i'd mention...start small and test, if needed, go bigger. you dont wanna drill out too big and cant make it smaller once you do.
