iJoy Asolo Question

It goes down to .10ohm in TC for Ni200 and Ti. I wish it went down to .05 in TC, my normal builds using Ni200 in my Billow V2's are between .059-.075 depending on ga (26 or28). That's as much Ni200 as I can cram in there 
sorry guys... I don't do Ni or Ti... so I really can't say what the limits are nor can I give any real performance is on such...
But Kanthal... is great...

Anyway, have you guys had success with the "taste control" with stainless steel? I just got a Crown.

So far the ijoy is the only mod that has dry hit protection with kanthal.
I could do without the dual batts/200watts.
I could do without subohm.
I have had great success with "taste control" or DHP as some call it... I run mine at anywhere from .6 ohms up to about 1.6 ohms... from 30 gauge to 24 gauge kanthal... have done single and dual and twisted coils... from 18 watts up to 42 watts... no issues... got to love that...
while I have only done kanthal with the mod, I see no reason that it would not work just fine with stainless as long as you can keep the build with in a range of .5 ohms to 2.0 ohms....
If you want to push lower on the build than .5 ohms, then this may not be the box for you???? but if you are cool with keeping it "normal"... lol then I think you will love it just like I do... kanthal, stainless, or whatever...
has pwr to do/push most anything you want... size is small for a dual battery... and build is solid with clean looks... what is not to love... hahaha

It says the lower limit for kanthal "taste control" is 0.5 ohms but for "standard coil" is 0.1 ohms. Now who knows what they mean by standard coil but I'm assuming being that many have had success with SS using temp control devices in temp control mode, that I can build down to 0.1 ohms with SS on the Asolo and experience good "taste control" results. I have yet to try it because I burnt my only 0.25 ohm SS coil head using my Crown on my Koopor Mini in straight wattage mode... I may try it with the other 0.5 ohm SS coil head that I have but I don't want to risk ruining my only SS coil left before I get more.
Just a quick question i am waiting for mine to arrive in a week or so and i plan on getting ss wire to try the "taste control" which gauge and which grade should i go for? Also does the coil have to be spaced for the tc to work or contact coils are fine too?
OK guys so my Asolo kicked the bucket. One week brand new and I noticed I heard a little piece moving around freely inside when I shook it. Still worked for hours after that then it just stopped. No buttons worked. I pressed the power button 50 times and nothing. Tried two freshly charged pairs of one week old Sony VTC5s in them too. When I open the battery door and smell the mod there is a burnt smell like burnt electronics. The batteries don't smell at all so it's not them.
Has anyone else had this happen to them or heard about it happening???

ouch bro... I have not had any issues with mine other than making the 510 threads flush with the top of the case (to make better "common" ground point)
it sounds like a screw (guessing)that holds the pcb down came loose inside may have backed out (the rattling sound) and ended up shorting out the Mod.
I will have to check on the other guys that I know have one of these and see if they have had any issues?
I would think this falls under the warranty for sure... but the loss of time is a pain for sure... hate to hear that 8(

i just do Kanthal...
sometimes the DHP... trips more than I would like... but the truth is, even if that is annoying, it is actually better than not working.... cause that would mean it would not be doing it's job...

As far as what gauge and whatnot, that really depends on your atomizer. Are you using it in an rta or an rda? Dual coil or single coil? I've only used UD 316L 24g so far. SS is lower gauge than kanthal so if you want to do dual coils and keep the resistance above a certain level than you might want 26 gauge. I can fit 11 wraps spaced in my twisted messes rda dual coil barely and it comes out to around 0.23 ohms.
I forgot what the minimum resistance required is for the Asolo, BUT I remember it states a 0.5 ohm minimum for its taste control to work.

Forgive me as am brand new to coil building and brand new to mods with tc and removable batteries so I may sound like a complete toolbox here. I looked at the manual on the ijoy site at the bottom of the page IJOY ASOLO-Shenzhen IJOY Technology Co.，Ltd. - Ijoy e-cigarette/Most electronic cigarette manufacturer innovation It says the coil DIAMETER has to be a certain size. For kanthal the diameter should be .3 mm or smaller and ohms no lower than .5 Is this referring to the gauge of the wire diameter or the build of the coil diameter?
I have had a crown tank for a while and I just ordered the rba and am trying to get myself set up to build my very first coil ever. I am contemplating a coilmaster kit or something along those lines.
