Like I said in the YouTube comments... I realize now that you are referring to its regulation and accuracy. Like someone else said in these comments, I wish you would say more (or include more in the videos) about how you obtain your results. But I'm starting to see that you do similar testing as Daniel and Phil, so I'm learning to accept your reviews on these things. Maybe make one video about your processes and refer people to that in the comments of future videos. The good thing about the Captain is that it's firmware upgradable, so it's up to iJoy to make it what it should have been in the first place. Thanks for your understanding!

Same process as anyone else. in the end a volt is a volt. I use an oscilloscope hooked up to the mod with different resistance builds fire the mod 3-5 seconds and record the data. I do this about 5-8 times for each resistance depending on the results for each one. most mods fire the same every time (incosistent) some mods don't So i use the results of the closest 3 averaged but i never recommend incosistent mods as the data won't show that. As far as making a video i have way too many reviews to do. I have like 10-15 in process, Like another 20 things showing up this week or next week, another 10-15 that are ready to record i'm just slammed. i've been posting up 20 a month lol and i'm still behind. and i have other general vaping videos to make as well so It's a pretty low priority to make a video on my testing but I'm always open to discuss it with you over on ECF. I've had people question me. the fuchai 213 plus was a big one, the dude who gave me a hard time about it wound up testing it himself and got similar results and apologized to em for it lol. I don't have an issue with people questioning a source. people should be skeptical for sure but i do this out of love of the hobby and to help the community, it's not my job nor do i make any money off of it. I can see you tried to make a channel a year ago so i'm sure you know how hard it is and how much work is involved. Firmware upgrades won't fix the 510 pin issue on mine though.
I have NO issues with the Captain at all..so far..so good.no wobble door no crooked 510 etc..I put the tfv8 rta option on,, .5 claptons. Read correctly imho. But I'm not set up as the pros here. No misfires.plus I am H €LL on a mod. .put it this way,the hits in a period of hockey,I can do at work at times. Soooo..
I've learned through Anthony that Daniel (DJLsb Vapes) is working with iJoy to get a Firmware Update released (as you probably already read about above). Guess he'll post his review after that. I'm looking forward to it. Anthony has a Rainbow Captain coming, so I hope he gets a good one that's well made this time. I think it looks good, but I wanted the Black one.
Any luck finding other Mods using the 20700? And are you going to pursue stickers from J Wraps?

Good, bad, or indifferent, I look forward to seeing how the Captain works for me. Best case, it's awesome (though it sounds like it may need a firmware update, hopefully sooner rather than later). Worst case it's a rock, but I'll have some shiny new batteries to use on another mod [emoji5]
I looked on Gingervapes..yeahhhhh. .it's the Boxer..I Google 20700 mods and only captain comes up so far..I'm on the go,so sporadic checks
..J wraps look good,don't kno if I'm gonna go there yet. I put silicone cover on it most times,when they comes out..lol..I test out mod durability real world
..working conditions..I've killed alot of them,&the ones I don't , I start other smokers down the path away from the stix..

I remembered that in your video, you said that the top of the Mod gets crazy hot. While it may be a totally bad unit, a Firmware Update might fix that issue. I know that it could be a poorly built one, with the 510 being the culprit, but it couldn't hurt to check...
When I turn mine On, under the Captain logo it says V1.2, so I'm thinking that's the Firmware version. If yours says something different, then maybe when iJoy releases the Update that they're working with Daniel on, you'll get a fix for that.
I did a brief search to see if there's a better way to find the Firmware version, but didn't find anything posted (but I didn't try very hard). So I tried various combinations of turning it On by holding (+) and (-), turning it On pressing both, then pressing (+) and/or (-) with it Off, but that didn't get me there. If you know of a better way, then please tell us about that. It could come in handy in the future.

It's just the top plate. mind you I'm pushing as many watts as it can put out. If you vape under 100 you won't notice it. If you vape a TFV8 at 150 watts on it, it'll be hotter then the tank itself. I'll see how the rainbow one does.
Mine says v1.2 as well they all do as no firmware update has been made yet. Appreciate the help for sure i'll know alot more when the rainbow one arrives. they are supposed to ship in the next few days so we'll see.
Hold up... Does that mean that I'd get 2x the battery life running my Noisy Cricket II-25 in parallel instead of at the equivalent voltage in regulated series??

That's because when fully charged, the battery is at 4.2V. While being used, the Voltage decreases, and we stop using them (in regulated devices) at somewhere above 3.2V. In a Mech, it's often 3.8V.

The Noisy Cricket II-25 is a complicated device with more than one battery configuration option. I don't have one, but this is what I gather from the description at Wismec.
It says:
Under Cells in Series Circuit Condition, two modes are available: Direct Output mode and Constant Voltage Output mode.
Using Direct Output mode, I believe you'd be starting with 8.4V (with fully charged batteries) and the Voltage would decrease as the batteries were used. Just like an unregulated Box Mod. You'd probably stop using it at somewhere around 7.6V (a 3.8V charge on both batteries). Your mAh rating would the same as one of the batteries in the Stack.
Using Constant Voltage Output mode, you can set the Voltage via Regulation circuity. The output voltage can be adjusted from 2V to 6V. This is kinda like the old 18650 Tube Mods.
Using batteries in Parallel:
It doesn't specify whether batteries in Parallel are Regulated or not, so I'll compare that to the Cells in Series Circuit Condition above, assuming there's no Regulation.
You'd be starting with 4.2V (with fully charged batteries), and the Voltage would decrease as the batteries were used. Just like an unregulated Box Mod. You'd probably stop using it at somewhere around 3.8V to 3.5V, depending on your satisfaction with the Vape. But you'd have twice the battery life at 2x the mAh rating of one of the batteries, as compared to an unregulated box mod with a single battery.
Battery Regulation gives us many safety features, but it doesn't really change how they work together. The higher Voltage of a Series Stack allows the device to reach the higher amperage required by all of these Cloud Beast tanks that use Kanthal.
This is how batteries work together in Series in an Unregulated device (but also why they are used in Mods like the Captain), with a comparison of 18650 vs 20700. Please keep in mind that this is comparing 3000mAh batteries...
Watts = Volts x Amps. Therefore, Watts / Volts = Amps.
xx30W / 4.2V = 7.143 Amps. (single battery)
xx30W / 8.4V = 3.571 Amps. (dual series battery stack)
150W / 4.2V = 35.714 Amps. (not really safe for 18650s)
150W / 8.4V = 17.857 Amps. (well within the range of 20A 18650s)
234W / 4.2V = 55.714 Amps. (not even a 20700 can do this!)
234W / 8.4V = 27.857 Amps. (well within the range of these 30A 20700s)
Using batteries in Series is considered by many to be a Safer way to reach higher Wattages, because the Amperage required is easier to obtain. The higher Voltage of the Stack means lower Amps required from the batteries.
Note:
The Amps drawn through both batteries in the Series stack are the same for each battery. The two mAh ratings don't add together, and there's no change in Amps supplied from batteries in Series. Three Series batteries have 3x the Voltage, but roughly the same mAh rating of one, and they all push the same Amperage. That is, the Voltage Rating of the Series Stack will a multiple of the number of batteries in the Stack, with approx. the same mAh and Amp rating of one battery (with all batteries in the stack being equal).
Now a Parallel setup is different. The Voltage of any number of batteries in a Parallel Pack will be the same as one battery in the pack (if they all have the same Voltage rating and Charge level). But the Amp and mAh rating of the Pack will be a multiple of the number of batteries that are present. So the rating of a Parallel Pack with three 4.2V batteries = 4.2V, with 3x the mAh rating and Amp rating of a singe battery (with all batteries in the Pack being equal).

No, you calculate batteries in watt/hours or w/h
in series (nominal voltage) 3.7*2 = 7.4 * 3000 (mah stays the same, voltage doubles) of an lg hg2 or samsung 30q) /1000 = 22.2w/h
In parallel (nominal voltage) 3.7 * 6000 (mah doubles voltage stays the same) /1000 = 22.2w/h
nominal voltage is 3.7 fully charged batts are 4.2 volts. voltage decreases as charge goes down. Most people consider batts dead around 3 volts. anything under 2.5 volts will damage the battery
