Ike raising gas prices!!

Florida is cracking down on those Bubbas running gas stations that jacked up prices on Ike's threat. I hope they throw the damn book at them. The governor, attorney general and comsumer services commissioner are all after the stations. Photograph your proof of inflated prices and here's your fine, Bubba.

I hope the other states follow suit. This chit's gotta stop. I mean, if people all over the country stay in line at a gas station to fill up before a hurricane, then we've all been conditioned to take it up the wazzoo.

Some of us who live in the UK to have to have a car because some of us live in the country to but USA still has their gas half the price than the UK we would all be laughing if it was four dollars a gallon in the UK.

But I suppose now you don't have the big old American gas guzzlers as much as you used to have with more foreign imports taking over because of the American car market dying which probably makes things easier now

we all just need more publicity stunts like the one carried out by EA recently in london
Channel 4 - News - Free petrol stunt 'dangerous'
it was criticised as it caused massive congestion but if every petrol station had its sponsor, we would all be winners. though then it wouldnt garner the attention any stunt like this needs to pay off. catch 22 really...ok scratch this one off.

and its not a necessity in this country?
any way you slice it,we have to pay three times as much for petrol in the UK than in america...we all have to drive everywhere here too,we have a really lousy public transport system, and most of the UK is countryside.
so im not quite sure what youre saying here.

I don't know, I don't live in the UK......so I do not know the conditions...

Hubby drives a Toyota Camry, and I drive a little VW jetta.
They are great on gas.

Would not want it any other way.

I see people drive a "hummer" or a huge SUV, and am happy I do not have to fill up those and pay the price.

Well I'm guilty of driving a gas guzzler as we have two Jaguars but I love my car and it's more than something that gets me from a to B. but saying that it's the way you drive a big car regarding petrol consumption they are not as bad as people make out.
But we did once have a range Rover and that was costing us hundred pound a week to run where the Jaguars cost £30 a week to run.
