You're being ripped off by 50-80% on just about every item you buy. It's the way the world works. You either pay it or you don't. You think McDonald's Big Macs actually cost them the $3 and change that they charge for them? Of course not. More like about 25 cents. But they can still charge it and everyone will still pay it. There are very few items in this world that are priced where they "should" be. It is the demand that sets what the price should be for any retailer. Keep in mind that as much as our suppliers want to be our friends and be nice helpful members of the e-cig community - they are also running businesses. The whole point of a business is to make a profit. The more profit they can make...good on em. I'd much rather give my money to the small guys we're dealing with than to give it to the big tobacco companies as I have been for the past 15+ years. I doubt we're going to see Steve, Jason, Katy, Shawn, etc...jetsetting around the world in their private jets or driving their Ferraris around town anytime soon. I guarantee that if you look at the CEOs of the big tobacco companies you're going to see that type of thing. If a majority of users feel that the price is too high and decide to buck the system they'll most certainly see prices drop. They will also see service and quality drop. Keep in mind that not only are we paying for the products, testing, shipping, taxes, overhead, advertising, etc on these we are also paying for the service we get. I've had more than a few stale packs of cigs in the past. I guarantee you if I'd called Phillip Morris to complain about them they wouldn't have sent me out a new pack. Most likely they would have laughed their arses off at me. So, while it's not a bad thing to want prices reduced you're gonna have a hard time finding enough others to join in the fight.

Forgive me, but I have no rhyme or reason to want to blow a load of cash on a grotesque amount of e-liquid that:
(a) might not get to me in the first place if it gets stuck in customs
(b) when it does get stuck in customs I get walloped for another load of duty
(c) might not be very nice tasting anyway after all that wait/frustration
(d) i get lumbered with 1.2litres of the damn stuff sitting around wishing I'd gone for a bit of variety and my trusty local supplier.
People here rate smoking a pack a day for a week to 10-15ml bottle of liquid per week. So at even 5 quid a pack that's £35 per week and if you buy from a reasonable supplier a 10-15ml bottle is easily under a tenner - that's theoretically saving £25 which can go towards a new device/accessories. I really don't see what the big deal is - we're better off health wise (hopefully!), and our pockets should be in the long run. What's £10 anyway - around three pints in London nowadays if you're lucky or a third of the price of your famous lunches SANJP... lol
You encourage this without really understanding the impact it can have. Suppliers here are working with trading standards to better the product/appearance/safety etc, if you start getting a load of unchecked liquid coming in on the banana boat from China you're asking for a ban don't you think?
Well when the last supplier has been put out of business, I suppose we've always got our friendly cornershop/garage for our fix... great ...

why cant we have the same prices as the US here in the uk .

U.S. = £6.75 ( $9.99 )

and don't go giving the currency rate BS either. it's been the same for a long time and they are both imported from China.

I think you'll find that most things are cheaper in the US on a cost to cost basis compared with the UK. Whether that's due to a bigger population = bigger demand = more suppliers = better competition I'm not sure - just the way it seems to be...
This isnt too bad. I am a professional photographer and for many years for the stuff we purchace its been the same price in $'s in the states as £'s in the UK. Same with printer ink paper etc. Theres lots of reasons for this, it isnt individual suppliers ripping you of, I know as we used to import computer parts from china.

Depending on what the material/product is classified as ... there are certain brokerage fee's involved.
My shipment of liquid I had to pay at tobacco tax on to have it released ....
They have different taxes though that are levied by the state rather than government VAT. For instance you could by an item of clothing in Boston and pay no extra tax but by the same item in New York or LA and pay around 9% tax on it, its weird

There are a couple states (i think Nevada being one, and perhaps Massachusetts being the other
) that don't have a State Sales Tax. Most other states have some form of sales tax that gets added to each purchase. If you live in New York, and buy something from California lets say online, you don't have to pay the state sales tax because you are out of state. However, states are starting to enforce what's known as a "Use Tax" That means, although you may have purchased something out of state, you still have to pay tax to the state you live in Quite ridiculous in my eyes .... but it is, what it is ....

well i dont wanna take bread from the table of my suppliers, they have to make a living from it just as we all do in one way or another. i would like to know what a supplier pays for a 15ml bottle of generic, we'll never know that tho...
I just find it hard to look at a 30ml bottle and think ' man, that's 20 quid there '
for me e-smoking works out very close if not more expensive than the 5 x 50gram pouches of baccy i used to get duty free every 4 weeks at £27 a time.

Oregon and Montanna both don't have sales tax unless Oregon recently changed. Montanna does not have it for sure.awwww.... State Sales Tax ...

Alaska not only has no sales tax, they have no personal income tax, AND they distribute a share of state oil money every year, as much as $2000 per person some years.
I am offically moving to Alaska, nope too cold... Guess they have to have some kind of incentive to get people to move there.
