Hey Scorched!
i was just going to say super glue will do the trick, but you want to make absolute certain that the glue does not touch any of the electrical components, (Where electricity passes through) Because superglue isn't a conductive element, it will stop electricity from flowing. I'll get on with my partner to verify the given advice.

Haha The vinyl's are coming! We were reviewing the AMAZING selections and I'll tell ya, there's a WORLD to choose from! Soooooo many!!!

Our beloved Chinese batteries are aptly named good sir. 17670, 17mm in diameter, 67mm in length and a nice 0 for the technology. I could be incorrect on the latter, but know for certain battery names are deemed by their sizes.

Confirmed Scorched!
Unfortunately, not all "Harrys" are created the same. One would think an 17670 or even an 18650 would be a 17670 and an 18650, they are not.

... and that is the sad part folks are finding out. The expensive batteries conform with the numbering scheme, the cheaper one's not quite so.

The numbers pretty much conform for unprotected batteries but grow about a mm in girth and up to 3 mm in length with the protection circuits installed. This is a moot point with the expensive batteries, where an 18650 is 18mm x 65mm. e.g the AW 18650 is true to its name, whilst the trustfire 18650 is 68mm long.

This was not a major problem when batt mods were fitted with springs to compensate for battery length variations, but is becoming a problem with the small tolerances of all mechanical devices and tube sizes to prevent "wiggle"

Tu' shae good sir!
Back before AW became widely known, I had to physically bore out the Chameleons to accept these wild protected batteries. I have a photo on this pc showing 2 protected batteries that are 2 different brands with significant size differences, but am unable to find it. So instead we'll go by your words on the topic to show the differences between protected versus unprotected.

Generic 10430
UltraFire unprotected

Should I be using Noalox on my Chameleon? I've only had it for a week with no problems but will it help to apply some? Thanks.

Yep, you can use it just fine. Some units do come in with a bit of a brittle finish on the threads. Either use of over time or or noalox will fix it. I hear it's also good for electric connectivity for continuity.
Each I time I grab some, it gets lost! We now have 5 or so items sitting all round hidden within the house lol.

both sides of the switch assembly is ok and on the top cap threads that go to the switch assembly section is ok. Just not on the adapter threads that go to the atty or on the atty itself.

Oh and a little goes a long way!! It only takes a very small amount on any of the threads.

ok found it Amajn did a video on how to properly apply noalox

Thanks for the reply Isaac. I guess we were typing in the same time. Hey, look at my location next to my name. You'll know who this is.

Thanks WWay. I thought so but I'd rather ask than mess it up :). I'm notorious for that. Btw, it has been great following the WWay-Switched show. This subforum is awesome!
