I've finally got it working with my Ultrafire protected 16340 880 mah batteries. But I still have to jam the batteries in, pushing on the correct battery with a slimmer CR123A - but it still took me about 20 minutes of fiddling to get the battery pushed in far enough. I thought I had it in completely when I was able to screw the bottom cap on, but apparently it wasn't making contact at the positive end.

Getting the battery OUT is easier than getting it in, since at that point I have things unscrewed from both ends.

Should I get Trustfire 16340's from someplace, or is there a different battery I should get?
Hey Jeannie,
I'm using Protected TrustFire 16340 (white with black lettering) and didn't have any trouble! I think some of the wrappers may have a kink or different thickness?

While the protected bats are tight, they push in and through with my finger (I just unscrew the button section from the tube on top and take off the end cap and push through). The unprotected DO fit better (and for me, there isn't much worry... I decided for myself that the stacked 3v unprotected were the issue... not single unprotected Li-Ion batteries - but you have to decide what is ok for you). I'm using both in my Chameleon.

The unprotected bats I am using are no name 16340, 1300mAh (blue case) and a 16340 1000mAh (purple case). SpiderFire work really well too.

Will cartos work on the Chameleon 901 adapter?
They do, but only the type with the groove down the middle of the center pin. The old flat style is not compatible.

Actually yes, TrustFire 16340 880mAH 3.6V Li-ion Rechargable Battery w/ PCB [TrustFire 16340] - $3.24 : High Tech DealZ, Simplifying the LASER Hobby! These are the cheapest priced locally and his shipping is super fast. If I had any on hand I would send them to you Asap.

They are sold out.

I went to change batteries and now I've got an Ultrafire 16340 stuck in the tube- ok, got it out, tried again and 20 minutes later I can vape. BUT I think I discovered the sequence of shoves that are required.

I've ordered some Trustfire 16340's from China out of desperation, paying for DHL shipping - supposed to be 2 to 5 days.

I'm going out for some dinner - see y'all later!

Hellen, tell them about the 10% off code for HighTechDealz, please!

Isaac:
Couple of questions:
1. Any thoughts on whether these batt's will fit?
Bat2.jpg

2. Any plans to offer the Chameleon by itself at a different price point, rather than as a kit that includes batteries/charger? I've got chargers and batteries coming out the ying-yang, but love the look of that button and the adaptability of the mod itself. Call me cheap (I prefer "frugal"), just don't want to pay extra for the stuff I don't need.

TIA

Hi Ark,
1. So far i had 2 customers that tried using these and they both claim there just a little too big. If I can reference to Helen's post 6:15 tha Trust-fire, Spider-fire and the original generic batteries that were used in the original Screwdriver fit perfectly.

2. Not cheap " just don't want to pay extra for the stuff I don't need." is exactly the reason why I'm going for even higher Ω atomizers. So people dont need to go out of their way and order 2 16340 3.0 volts. Having so many different types of batteries is just ridiculous!

So, last Friday night I am sitting in my favorite seat enjoying the evening after a long day at work. My employer took great care of me this year in the Christmas bonus department even after a mediocre year so around 9 pm last Friday night I purchased a Chameleon from Isaac at Ikenvape. Get this, my Chameleon arrived today in my mailbox on 2 to 3 day USPS Priority mail! Not even 1 business day. Talk about quick service. Thanks Isaac!

Now I just need to get my batteries and charger in from Battery Junction in the next day or so. I would have bought these items from Isaac as well but I didnt see where he was offering a charger for the 16340s on his site. Maybe it was me being blind and not seeing it, I am not sure. That is why I purchased my batteries and charger from Battery Junction. So now I have this .....in new mod that I have to wait a day or two to try out. I figured that both would show up on the same day but Ikenvape's shipping was the fastest I have seen yet.

I have been playing with all the interconnecting parts this evening and everything part threads together smoothly and creates a nearly seemless complete unit. The one thing I would suggest is that you use noalox on the threads like you would a Silver Bullet to keep from having any problems with threading in the future. Of course I am assuming this is an aluminum unit as that is what it appears to be. Noalox will just keep the threads from getting sticky or galling and getting stuck.

Just wanted to give Ikenvape a little shout out for some great customer service. Once I get the battery's in and get some time with the unit I will post some thoughts on it.

It arrived today!

When I opened the Priority box I though you had forgotten something because the whole package was so small, but when I opened the inner box everything was there.

Wow, was I ever supprised! For some reason I thought the body would be a little bigger (objects in videos may appear larger than they really are).

This PV is so small I was sceptical that it would perform to my expectations (having limited experience RN4081), but alas I had to wait for the batteries to charge to find out, so I decided to go out for a few hours.

When I got back, the first thing I did was to pop a fully charged battery into the sleve. The battery slid in like it was built just for the PV and just to be sure I checked to see how it would come out. It came out just as easy as it went in.

Next I poped in the 801 adapter and screwed on the atti. Because I didn't have any carts for it, I dropped some juice on the atti and took a drag...

Boy oh boy was I ever supprised! This little gem is a beast! I'm talking clouds of vapor, and great taste to boot! If this little PV performs this well with one battery, I can't wait to order some of the HV atti's and the 6V sleve so I can experience Vaping Nirvana! :D

Now on to my observations...

I initially ordered this PV because I liked that the battery was sealed against juice leaking into it, and the fact that I was not limited to one atti size.

I also liked the idea of no soldered parts. Let me tell you that it lives up to my expetations in those departments. There is no way juice can get into the battery, and although I can only use an 801 for the time being, I can see that I won't be having any problems with the other adapters working.

The button is just about perfect. It has a nice clicky feel and depresses with little effort, and with the flat of my thumb. I also like that it's ressesed slightly so I have no fear that I will depress it while in my pocket.

It fits in my hand comfortably with my pinky on the bottom. I could (and probably will) hold this baby all day. :)

The satin finished aluminum is smooth to the touch and also provides a little grip so I won't be likely to drop it, and all the parts screw and unscrew with ease.

I only have one suggestion, mostly because I'm kinda ..... The 801 atti sits up off of the top sleve by about a 16th of an inch. It does not affect the function of the PV nor does it make it loose or anything, but it might be nice to include a small black rubber gasket to fill that space and make the unit look like it's not missing something.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase and the great service Issac provided. Shipping was fast and everything was in the box and working just fine. I've been vaping practically non stop since I got it going around 10:00pm and it's just about 4:00am now. The power has not wained one bit and this thing is pumping out the vapor like a champ.

Thanks for making this great little Chameleon available Issac, because now I feel like I can give up the analogs completely. :)

I'm one of the people who has Ultrafire batteries that are a little too big. I've ordered some Trustfire 16340's but had to get them from China since all the US suppliers I tried were out of stock.

One of those US suppliers is Hightechdealz, and they're out of stock on the Trustfire 16340's, but they have a new battery Trustfire TR123a that is supposed to be the same size and voltage as the 16340. I ordered two and will see if they work, since I assume they'll get here before the ones from China.

I hope they work because I want to use my new toy, the Chameleon!

Sharky! lol I really wish I had more of those batteries! Thanks for feedback! I'll definitely grab some noalox today and start adding lube to the threadings on these guys. I really hope that your batts and charger come in today. Thanks for the shout out Sharky, I try to get these orders out atleast 3 times a day. :D You rock!

You guys are awesome! I'm so thrilled over all this good news!!
Lawless Wow That is a great well written review!!! Thank you so much for this!
I really hope that we can kick analogs right out the window now!
This was just grand, Thank you again! I noted the 'o' ring for the 801 atomizer and will grab some, while I'm out for the noalox. :D Thanks again Lawless and again, beautifully written!!

You're welcome Issac,
That first battery was pumping out the vapor until about 5:30 when It started to get a little weak. I just poped in the second battery and I was off and running again. :D
So that means that it lasted just about 7-1/2 hours of constant vaping. Way better than the 3 or so hours of my 4081.
I knew you would take my suggestion and the suggestion of the other member. I can tell you're all about service and customer satisfaction. Keep up the great work! :)

Looks like you picked a great PV to sell Isaac! Everyone seems very happy with The Chameleon, I know I am :) If you're reading this thread doing research, I'd advise you pick one up before Ikenvape runs out and you have to wait for the next order. Don't forget to sign up for the newsletter. Ikenvape is just ramping up and you won't find better customer service anywhere. And Isaacs own mod, Project Infinity, is under development now!

I really want to order this but I have a few questions first. This is a lot for me to spend, but I feel it's totally worth it.

First, do you think you'll still have this in stock in the next couple of days?

Next, if I find somewhere to get batteries for this, will I also need to order the charger you have available? I only have Vapor King batteries right now and use 901 attys. I have no mod type batteries and this is all new to me.

So, if anyone would be so kind as to "draw this in crayon" for me, I'd appreciate it.

I need to order the Chameleon, and... (fill in the blanks). I really want this but don't want to miss an item or order stuff I don't need.

Also just curious why are the batteries so hard to find?

Lastly... are you offering a discount code for us here at ECF? I see the box for it on the shopping cart.

Thanks Isaac and everyone for always being so helpful!

Anyone know what the Lamber flavor liquid is?

Mr. Sinister, that Lamber flavor would be best likened to a fine red wine. I, myself, love that one. It's a difficult flavor to put down on paper, but it's light, a little fruity perhaps...very flavorful. I enjoy using this one to cleanse my palate in between heavier vapes such as cappuccino or 555. Hope that helped you out! :)

Much better Lawless! That is sweet that your getting almost a full work day out of these. Rn-4081? I was always so fond of rn-4075 compared to the dse901. I don't think I ever tried 4081 but I do love joye's 302 unconditionally haha. How would you say the 4081 fairs in the penstlye area? Obviously if your using it, there has to be something special there :D

Thanks Vt!!! Aw I wish we had the rocking smileys here! I'm really happy using it too! Fr the first few days of using it, I tried all the atty's and since their direct connection method you know your getting full power all the time. I'm in a natural rotation of atomizers so much more fluidly now. Last night I threw on a 801 and just been loving it all the more ever since! Thanks alot Vt! haha Just re-read your post again!! Just so thrilled that you had a great experience!!

Hi Raevyn :)
lol pncil art looks so much better, you get better detail :D
I been speaking with the manufacture to widen these just a hair to take Ultra fire batteries more easily, the concept is not to have the batteries just fall out when changing them, but due to some battery manufacturing, we realize it's almost impossible to have every battery exactly made to a perfect T. plus Ultrafire is slightly bigger than what the mod was based on, Trustfire. They're really not hard to find at all, they're just as common as all other batteries used in mods trustfire 16340 cr-123a - Google Search
I do have the chargers that are ment for All kinds of batteries out there and I should be receiving specific cr-123a battery chargers today! Ofcourse they will be almost 75% lower than the universal chargers I have. :) I'm preparing to make another soon but I'm waiting for the extension sleeves to be completed so we can receive the shipment in one nice lump some.
