I think we'd be farther ahead to get the standard size then just the flange needs to come off.

Agreed. Let me know how long that one lasts, would you? Because that's one of the things that blew me away with the one you sent me. I don't know if was just an anomaly but...

I'll grab a Snickers bar.

Mornin' Fran! The coffee smells wonderful this morning. I decided on tea though, in a futile attempt at stress management. Just for today.

Oh! Two years ago today I began working at V. Amazingly, it only feels like it's been 30 (years). :D

Bears? Pfft. You just have to understand how they see things. If you don't provoke or threaten them, they're harmless. People who get attacked "unexpectedly" didn't see that their actions caused it. If I stood up & said 'Hey!' last night, that little guy would've bolted like the Flash. Pansies, I tell ya. This one was a few years old... maybe a touch bigger than a St. Bernard... ~3 feet at the shoulder on all 4's.

Moose on the other hand... they don't need provoked or threatened. They may walk away, they may charge, they may decide that you need to die, just because they noticed you. Their unpredictability makes them scary & extremely dangerous. Especially this time of year.

Okay, thanks Oz. I saw some scary "bear" movie years ago. I'll remember what you said if I ever find myself in this situation.:unsure:8-o

Morning all.

My SIL went hunting yesterday and on his way back he blew the hose on his radiator. No stores up by Mt. Rainier so at 9:30 after finding a parts store and a bunch of water I drove the 35 mi up into the woods. It poured so hard we were walking in 10 in. of water and of course I was in my usual t-shirt. The worst part was the wind driving the rain right through us. But in 5card style I got er did.
yesterday was just plain miserable all around for me. terrible day.:( glad it's over.

We stopped at a great Jewish deli on our way home and got a couple of big fat Reubens for lunch. I already had the meat defrosted for taco salad tonight.

It's been unusually warm here the last couple of days, t'storms in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow. I knew when I took my ac out that I was inviting one more shot of Indian Summer

Movies are just movies :) Those "unexpected" attacks happen when the person doesn't understand how the bear is perceiving the situation. If you startle it, that means you've been stalking it & want to do it harm. Attack. Mama with cubs, you must want to harm the cubs. Attack. It has food, you must want to take away that food. Attack. What you may think is innocent might look much different to the bear.

The biggest thing is to make sure they hear/smell you long before you can see them. They'll usually make themselves scarce. Even if they're eating something, they'll typically hide & keep an eye on you from somewhere near the kill. If you stumble across a kill, you just want to move along quickly while keeping your wits about you. Don't go "looking for trouble". This time of year I wouldn't be planning any hikes through a berry patch. To you, it might seem innocent enough, but not to a bear who's instincts are telling it to fatten up.

Now time to go to a commercial break. When we come back, 10 dos and don'ts of hiking through big cat territory. ;)

I Love those tips DP! And the decal is sexy! Right on!

I cut down one of those 510 Fusions and de-flanged it for my Bbox and it works great.

Wharf should be happy as heck that the Niners are starting to look good again. Their last game they were great.
Oh, I never de flanged my fusions to work. I actually preferred them on the Dbox. It seems my Platinum keeps raising a bit and losing the connection. I'm ready to hop back on the Fusion at this point. The pics looked great!

LOL Funniest post ever! It's a shame what they did to the Discovery and Learning channel. What a MESS. I don't want to learn how oddl successful gypsies are or constantly have a family of 19 kids that all have their names starting with a J! No offence J5 haha
I just can't take it anymore. The closets things that have any learning value of wild life is Jakes favorite show the Wild Kratts. Just dammit society.

I'm going to try them with the flange next time. Thanks for the info Isaac.

I used to like the animal planet myself but I haven't watched television for a few years. Can't stand all the commercials. I go to my pc when commercials come on during football then back when they're over.

The printer they were supposed to send as a replacement never showed so I emailed them. They didn't send it. OOPS. They apologized and said they'd get on it. No wonder it didn't show.

TLC isn't even the Learning Channel anymore. I doubt half of it's viewers even know (or care) what those letters once stood for. They just want to "learn" about some disgusting obese child with an attitude problem.

History actually got better for a little bit before going down the toilet. That brief little period between WWII shows & whatever the hell they're playing these days, when they actually expanded beyond WWII but still played history-related stuff.

When I had Dish network, I would just hit pause immediately after turning on the TV. I'd do the dishes or laundry or whatever & come back 15 minutes later. Then you've got this nice little buffer to skip past all the commercials. :D Before that I didn't have TV for a number of years... pretty much back to when I was a kid... and the commercials were still fun to watch.
