When that State Senator stands on the Senate Floor and says we Need to Enact Sweeping Regulations and Massive Taxes to keep e-Cigarettes out of the Hands of Minors (which is Really just Thinly Veiled Regulations/Taxes for Adults), and has the Choice of Hundreds and Hundreds of Product Packaging to display, I wonder what Packaging they will Pick?

My God, we make their Job Easy for them Sometimes.

I was a Marlboro Red smoker for as long as I was a smoker. Light or Menthol were only when I ran out in a pinch. I have tried a few flavors but a taste is nothing like using it for a few hours. I thought Cappuccino would be good but it sucked. Right now I am mixing Buck Naked American and Turkish tobacco 1.8 & 1.2 or just each one.

Time for a trip to the tasting bar at the local Vape shop and thinking of going to a vape lounge with my GF but I have a feeling she might get turned off by a place with a fog or cloud in the room.:vapor:

Do you honestly believe that this packaging would lead a non vaping teenager, who had no intentions of vaping, to suddenly want to start vaping?

well if all juice makers had to use boring plain ole black and white labels with a specific font with no "art" ...
how would we be able to tell what bottle was what at just a glance??

Its a problem. All my diy is that way. It can take awhile to find what I'm looking for.

The whole thing here, is that ... Vaping takes away money. What is a way to stop MOST people from vaping? by making it not easily available. How? By scaring the Non Vaping community.... and one way is to threaten the Children.
"look at how its marketed to Children" Ergo, People are afraid for their kids. Because of the fear, the uneducated public starts hating it. and the people in power are "for the people" and so they restrict restrict restrict, and the money starts pouring back in from the easily available everywhere proven killers.

What's missing here is a sense of scale. Those are 30 mL bottles and the colors, etc. would be just barely attention getting at 6 feet away on the shelf of a shop. But blown up they look almost like juice or cereal boxes. The extra "stupid" thing is the manufacturer is providing the context- and scale-free blowups rather than letting the media/ANTZ take care of that.

The best way to show these would be a closeup of the box being held in a hand, or next to a mod, to allow a big picture but make it clear the boxes are small.

It might, it might not. Most of the people in the vaping community agree the intention is not to market to children, it is not us one has to convince, the problem is perception from outsiders. Do a test, show the image to 10 people who know nothing about vaping, and ask them, who do you think the target of this marketing campaign is? (don’t answer any questions, just let them glance it as they would walking by a billboard)

    Please share your results.

Personally, more than believing it targets minors with this kind of packaging I'm more worried about 5yo kids with irresponsible parents drinking it.

Doesn't Really Matter if a non vaping teenager is effected by this type of packaging. Or if he/she even sees it. It's that It Will be used Against Adults Vapers as Fuel for Regulations, and in Many Cases Taxes, against Adults.

What vapers think of the packaging is completely irrelevant it won't be vapers making the decisions it's how things can be played to the public by those with an anti vape agenda and how easy we make things for them. This sort of thing is highly unlikely to influence anyone but put that packet in the hands of an antz with a child next to them asking if they like the look of it and then see the reaction. Cannot believe at this stage there are still people thinking this sort of stuff is harmless and OK but it does explain how we got here you can't beat an enemy you don't understand and clearly quite a few here still don't really know their enemy.

Admittedly, it reminds me of "The Fairly Odd Parents".

Right or wrong? Oh...who knows? At a glance it does appear somewhat questionable, but I know 18 year olds that legally vape and still go out in public wearing t-shirts sporting similar imagery, and 48 year olds that love Fairly Odd Parents. As long as it's not being advertised on Nickelodeon, I don't see a problem.

Personally, the package would deter me from buying it, not because I have a moral objection, but because it looks too much like a damned box of bio-genetically enhanced cereal that I would never eat.

Really, the argument can be made for most styles of packaging. Decorate your bottle with aardvarks..."hey kids love aardvarks". Decorate it with a sci-fi theme, "hey kids love sci fi". Decorate it with pictures of fruit, "hey kids love fruit". Decorate it with Corvettes and Ferraris, "hey kids love Corvettes and Ferraris." Decorate it with a sparkly gold label, "hey kids love sparkly gold labels". Decorate it with Barbie...well OK that's inappropriate, kids already OWN that, but where does it end?

If you want to scream that something's inappropriate, there need to be clear cut guidelines laid out first. Have we done that yet?

Call me a silly idealist but when I'm faced with "it's a lie, but they'll use it against us" I choose to fight the lie.

They'll use anything and everything against us. Where do we draw the line?

It's a moot point anyway, I'm sure the FDA will issue a plain packaging guidance. I'm just wondering what will be the step too far that will cause vapers en mass to stand up and fight back. Obviously it won't be about packaging, maybe about flavors? Maybe nic strengths? How will we fight the "for the children" then?
