OK
I think when you are 18 it is easy to not get perspective and look at the moment. In 3 years you won't even remember the $300. You just won't. It will not even be relevant. What will be relevant is if you stick with it and get you and your mother off analogs.

Considering there are 2 of you using these, if you need a back up kit, or more battery life - or whatever, Liberty Flights has the Riva 510 kit for $30 after the ECF discount. This is essentially the EGO.

Don't sweat the money you have spent on ecig stuff imo. If anything I regret not buying a high dollar mod right off the bat lol. I know its not a pleasant thought but think of it this way....

Whats cheaper vaping or treatment for lung cancer...

As long as your working towards getting off analogs I would worry too much about "wasting" money.

KissMint--- I went through that and have heard others say the same thing too.... the basic ecigs didn't give the vapor or consistency I needed so I almost stopped.... but then I found mods! There are a lot of juice box type mods out there and I made my own pump version. You can have every puff that taste like it was just dripped but w/o the hassles of dripping or filling carts.

Also, I found higher nicotine content like 36mg was good for quitting tobacco, then taper down on nic to like 11 or 18mg.

It's amazing to read through these threads and see people like banjo who have quit tobacco after decades of use. Congratulations banjo!! PV's are a wonderful thing!!

LOL I was about to start a new Post "I Vow NOT to buy..."

I do want consistency. I notice a couple vape is good then ego doesn't perform well unless I leave it alone for a bit.

In the morning or after a meal I usually vape 36mg Menthol Ultra. Today is just BAAAD. I found out I got VB Cinna Bomb in my Vape Treasure Chest and woah...good stuff and i don't need to vape alot of it as I would do with strawberry, peach etc. Most of my juices are 24mg. But I have Ms.T coffee something in 30mg coming. I might have do get in the 30+ mg I think.

I would love to get juice box mods. I am waiting for the grand reo to come out, i do not have skills to build one. I mean I'm barely a good end user :p

Don't beat yourself up yet. I've only been using my e cig for about a month. I ordered a two piece and had little faith in its ability to help me stop smoking. Boy was I wrong. I didn't have enough supply to last to the next payday so I went back to old faithful. By my next payday, I was placing another order. Since I started using the e cig, I have been smoking at least four or five cigarettes a day until today. I hit one three times this morning and haven't had one since. I guess what I'm saying is that you will beat yourself up more if you go back.

As far as your Mom goes; I would talk it over with her first to she if she is even open to the idea. I bought one for my wife and she barely uses it. The thing is, she is one of those that can quit cold turkey.

Congrats on your journey to quitting!!

By scared do you mean you don't have the money to spend? If so then I think maybe you should just stop buying and use what you got. If you are smoking less analogs a day then that's a good thing isn't it? IF so, then it is all good!! :)

Don't read this below if you are tight on funds!!

If the goal is no more smokes, then you might want to try different things that folks already mentioned, higher nic, more power, etc.

Good luck and remember that this forum is here and... it's free! Just don't go to the Suppliers forums!! :)

Just to put it into perspective... With just your current analog smokes (which I assume is probably less than you were smoking before your PV) you are looking at 90+ packs per year, or 9 cartons. Depending on where you are, that's easily $50 a carton (more if you buy packs individually).

$450 / yr <----- That is what you are spending on analogs.
$300 <----- Your Vaping expenses thus far.
=======
$150 <----- The amount you can still spend in a year and break even, equal to 200mls of liquid or more

So you're doing alright so far! And just remember, this isn't just money you're blowing on a new toy. You are investing in your health, happiness, and your family! Keep with it, and we'll be here in the forums if you need support!

I'm up over $1000 in 2 months, but was spending about $250-$300 a month on analogs. Part of my problem is the modding addiction. I LOVE to tinker. So far the only downside is that I've been spending so much time with e-cig modding and such, my project car is really angry at me. I've had a brand new turbo(GT42R woohoo) sitting in a box for over a month, but can't find the time to play with it. I even scooted the box out of the way so I could work on my lathe to make mods while the car just sighed at me.

Either way, I consider it money well spent. Not only for the health reasons, but I've found not being a stinky smoker has gotten me some even more attention in the women department, which I guess is again for my health since it leads to vigorous exercise :p

LOL!! Glad I caught you before your vow!

I hope you get your reo soon! People seem to like them but I've never tried one. I've watched their site out of curiosity and haven't seen them in stock because they sell so quickly.

Are you using LR atty's on your eGo? Mine puts out pretty good vape when the atty is nice and wet. It's hard for the carts or cartos to keep up with that first few hit taste on every hit so I'm always topping mine off or dripping and it works well.

It's worth finding a PV that suits you because you won't even miss cigs....

The great thing about the "Puck" mod is that it's made with parts from Radio Shack, uses common NiMH batteries and only takes a few solder joints.... don't underestimate your skills!!... at modding or end user vaping! lol :vapor:

I'll help you make a Puck or other mod or make one for you if you think it would help you kick tobacco while you wait for your reo..... that offer is extended to anyone if it would make a difference between vaping and tobacco!

OMG guess what?! :) Ordered the reo just minutes before they were gone! I didn't know they are out today. Went to the post and saw people posting the colors they ordered.

Ty Ty, I would love to know how one is made. "won't even miss cigs" sounds real good. :)

Well for one its good you are not smoking analogs. But you really need to find what you like to vape on a daily basis. For me I have bought other juices and I guess I'm just a menthol type person. That is what it seems I go back to. If you are just starting out tobacco flavors really help in curbing wanting a analog, that took about 2 months for that to actually go away but I have been free of smoking for 4 months. I do find myself wanting to buy a bigger battery, or a different model, but in actuality I do not vape that much. So i think its just having something new and something different. So don't feel guilty about spending it but be careful. I have tried most of the things people recommend and well most of it I didn't care for. But I don't know which models you have bought, but I just use a regular 510 and that has kept me happy. Bigger battery would be nice but it gets me by. As far as your mom, its good you are trying to better her health hopefully she appreciates that. Don't beat yourself up to much. It's just money, your health is more important.

Wow!! That's great!! I was at their site earlier but didn't see that they restocked at 7:00 tonight. Sounds like you got one of the last ones! See, karma's with you!!

You can see how my home made mod is done in the links in my signature. The "Puck" is the basic model and there's a tutorial that goes through step by step. I made mine a little different by adding a juice pump in a larger box.

The Reo should give you the consistency and volume you want.... I'm thrilled you were able to get the one you wanted as we were talking about it! You'll have to give an update when you've had a chance to try it out!
