OK I appreciate any feedback :)

I have been smoking Silk cut (silver) for 12 years. I don't smoke AT ALL (Ok, well perhaps 4 a day) unless I am at my PC working. As I am sat at my PC working (from home) 75% of my waking days, I am on 20 a day.

I want to try Sky brand of E cigarettes BUT I really want it to taste and feel as close to a real cig as possible so these cherry and weird flavors put me off.
I know the throat hit is going to be important to me as is the size and weight of the unit - so that's why I picked the Sky brand cause theyre UK based (as am I) and the unit is very close at least in size to a normal real ....

My question is.... what are "liquids" like this:

Silk Cut - Detailed item view - www.vapourworld.co.uk

Can they be applied to any brand of e-cigarette?

There's so much info I had no idea! I want my first experience to be as good as possible or else I will just never try again...

Many thanks :)

Silk Cut the drug of choice of my parents, or used to be.

Certainly buy the Silk Cut flavour but realise why you are buying it or want to. It is the flavour that you link with getting your nicotine fix. Will let you into a secret.

As there is no burning tobacco it will kinda sorta taste like a cig but it won't. There said it, it is out in the open.

My brother just made the swap over to vaping, I have only been at this for approaching 3 months, and he bought a SuperKings flavour. Did warn him. Did say that it wouldn't replicate burning tobacco. I know this as I did exactly the same thing with a brand over here.

Certainly buy the Silk Cut flavour but also take a look at the other options available. Do you like fruit ? Do you like vanilla ? Do you like apple pie ? There are a vast range of flavours out there waiting for you to find to replace the taste of stale tobacco.

I took one vape on the allegedly cig flavoured juice and realised why I had chosen the flavour. I was comfortable with the idea of how I got my nic. I wanted vaping to take me away from that linking nic to a white tube with a certain flavour so branched out.

Make no mistake if you find the juice you love you will soon make the swap. More important even than the flavour is getting the nic strength right for you. You are looking at vaping to replace cigs. If the nicotine isn't right when you have finished vaping and you still want nicotine guess what you will do.

I would suggest buying 3 10ml bottles from 12 - 24mg strength with Sllk Cut as the 18mg and 2 alternative flavours that you think you like.

Good luck ! Hope it works out for you, oh another secret....it works !

I thought when I first started vaping that I would only want tobacco flavors, but in actuality like very few of them. Most of the cherry flavors are super gross too IMO. I would suggest getting sampler packs in lots of flavors and find out what you like. Also, the analog-sized PVs have a very short battery life so you might want to get a couple units to make it through the day.

I would have to agree with sea and Andy. I started with a Tobacco Menthol flavor and soon realized that it's not the flavor of the cigarette that kept me smoking it was the nicotine and, I am certain, the habit of "smoking" (having something to keep my hands busy and the actual action). Best advice, as most can give, is experiment and find those flavors that tickle your fancy. Anything that keeps the real smokes away is a real life saver to me!

Sorry I cannot help you with the Silk Cut flavour, as we do not have that brand here in the states. At least not that I have seen... (long time ex Parliament smoker personally)

Agreed.

With me anyway it always seemed the physical addiction always had me much worse than the chemical addiction.

With vaping, instead of reaching for the ashtray or my pack of smokes I'm reaching for my PV. Then you've got the inhaling part, and the tasting part

And I really like the part of not having something sitting burning going to waste. If I just want a hit or two I take it and nothing's wasted.

About the only people I can't see vaping helping, would be anyone who was really into the "burning things" part. LOL Pyro!

Welcome to ECF, all the same, and whatever works for you in keeping you off the fags is the right thing. Don't be afraid to experiment with the flavors and, as others said, be prepared to be a little disappointed if you were hoping to get the same taste as burning tobacco.

Firstly, very good job coming here and asking before purchasing.. Smarter than many, many of us who started out purchasing, not liking it, going back to analog, then coming back here and doing it all over again.. :)

Andy has some great points.. I think the most important thing, is to get the nic strength correct. If that's taken care of, you can figure out the flavors.. but if you're not getting the nic in that you're used to, you'll just give up on the thing before you get started.

Everyone starts out trying to match their tobacco of choice to the liquid, it's a logical conclusion to jump to without having much experience.. Unfortunately doing that usually ends up with unsatisfactory results, and it can prevent you from branching out into flavors you would've never previously considered.. Try a variety of strengths, and a variety of flavors (not just tobacco flavors!). And don't get frustrated, just come back and ask if you run into any issues.. Not enough vapor, too much vapor.. vapor too hot / cold, having to pull to hard, burnt taste, etc.. we've been through it all, and can point you in the right direction..

I'm not sure what the Sky Brand is like (don't think we have it here), but I know I enjoyed vaping much more when I moved away from the "imitation cigarette" and started learning about batteries and atomizers / cartomizers, etc.. There's so much more out there than tiny plastic sticks that kind of look like cigarettes that come in a kit. It's a good start, but most of us moved away from those rather quickly. Don't spend too much just yet.. :)

I promise you that within a few days of vaping you wont be that interested in matching the liquid flavor to that of your preferred cigarette, and eventually you wont care about the size or operating technique of the e cig. I would suggest getting a small sample (3-6mg) of a non tobacco flavored juice when you first buy your e cig gear. Pick a familliar flavor that you like, but not something really strong like cherry or other candy flavors. By all means do get a larger bottle of tobacco flavored juice, but don't be surprised if you never end up using more than half of it. I've found the flavor of most tobacco flavored juices to be too strong and was relieved to have a small bottle of non tabacco flavored juice when I first started. I think the fact that you have to hold the e cig different than how I held a cigarette also helped me quit cigarettes for good. I've only been at this for about three months and was able to drop cigarettes for good after 2 weeks. I've got three huge bottles of tobacco and menthol tobacco flavored juice that I haven't even cracked open. I stupidly ordered them after the first week. I wish I'd waited and tried more samples of non tobacco juices. Now I prefer the coffee and snack food flavors.
